@@Squidgywhy DOESN'T nidoqueen learn sludge bomb?? It learns EVERYTHING ELSE except a stab move Also MOST if not EVERY BUGS learn sludge bomb yet half of poison types DONT?
Great run, pkmn trainer Squidgy! Nidoqueen's great typing and versatile moveset gave allowed it to get a great time here! Can't wait for James's (Jame? James's's?) Run!
Due to how close their offensive stats are the nidos benefit more by using the 3 elemental punches and earthquke/hp ground the only pokemon that don't get hit for super effective damage are pure normal/pure psychic/pure fighting types as well as the quagsire line, shuckle, kingdra, umbreon and misdreavus and in all of those situations hp ground/earthquake will be just as good(hp ground) or outright better(earthquake) than return while being super effective against everything else meaning the punches base becomes 150 better than 102 for return while having the 10% chance for status.
You inspired me to try this myself. I started with Gastly but I couldn’t get past the first gym. Looking forward to seeing you do a Gengar solo eventually. In the meantime I’m trying out Psyduck
Oh, absolutely do it! The best way to get confident at the game is to do keep at it. There's never a wrong way to beat the run, either, there are just quicker ways and slower ways.
@@Squidgy I'm sure you will need level 16 to win against falkner due to their birds being normal. The game becomes incredibly easy once you reach goldenrod... oh wait, only gengar had punches back then.
Hey Squidgy, great content!! Just got into your runs, just have one question and don't know if you've already explained in the past but I was wondering why you catch the Abra instead of buying it in the goldenrod game corner? Do you experience it to be faster?
Hey! I used to buy the Game Corner Abra, but I've found that catching one is much quicker as it allows you to skip the Underground until you're doing the Rocket Takeover section, reducing movement and speeding up a couple of potentially slow battles.
Knowing Nidoking, I bet he'll get 5-7th Place. Is slightly faster and stronger, which makes it the slightly better pokémon. Not by a lot but it should be more consistent and less reliant on coverage to win.
As a stateside listener of your content, I always know it's going to be a great day when I wake up to a new squidgy video. God speed, good sir
Cabbage Grounding Fresh Rolls? @ 7:56
Was looking forward to this one. Nidoqueen was always my favorite of the two Nidos! Great job as always!
I adore Nidoqueen - this was my first time running with her, and she was a pleasure to work with!

Sad that you didn't get the moon stone as early as level 23. Body Slam is too good of a move to pass.
I tried so hard to get through to a place where I could get a Moon Stone pre Lv23, but it just wasn't happening, unfortunately :(
Assuming you’re already aware, Squidgy. But if you save money with your Mom sometimes she can buy you a moon stone.
Great video like always, excited for the Nidoking run as it used to be an staple in my team across various pokemon games
AND WE’RE BACK! Great job Squidgy! Another great run
Cheers RJ! I hope you're doing well!

26:22 "raichu quick attacks us and gives us our first damage for quite some time"
10 seconds later "i am confident surge won't get a single attack" 😂
Now that you mention it, I've never used one of them on a team outside of after I've already beat the game.
Can’t wait for the Ditto and Unown playthroughs

This makes me wonder how well Nidoking will do! Probably alot better tbh
i think an sub 1:30 should be doable
On almost any playthrough, I always pick up whichever of the Nido's are available. If both are available, I pick up both. Atleast up to Gen 3.
You inspired me to try this myself. I started with Gastly but I couldn’t get past the first gym. Looking forward to seeing you do a Gengar solo eventually. In the meantime I’m trying out Psyduck
I think you'd need to Struggle to get past anything with Gastly - it's a tough routing :(
@@Squidgy I think you’re right. Perhaps when I’m feeling more confident I’m going to try it again!

@@Squidgy Thanks for explaining, haven't played gen 2 too often so I don't know the routing for myself.
Slayyy Nidoqueeeen!
I am always curious who will be the first to unseat Magcargo from the bottom spot. Glad to see Nidoqueen did so well though. I really like the Nidos
Ahem.
I'll have you know Magcargo is on the top spot.
He's just playing a different game to everyone else.
👀
Nidoking may do a little better because of the Higher attack stats.
The bumhead fire duck
The Nidoking vid said I had to watch this first. So here I am ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Nidoking for speedruning lets see how queen does.
Yay squidgy vid!
Falkners usage of mud slap is weird
They didn't have a Flying TM in Generation II, so they gave him the next best thing, apparently.
It's so frustrating for anything weak to Ground.
not sure if im right on this note but wasnt gen 2 "female" cursed with lower stats etc then "male" ?
I wonder how the only Pokémon with breasts will do. Also the only fully evolved regular pokemon to not breed.
Will you do the hitmons some time ?
Yus, I have plans for the Hitmons at some point in the future, but they'll probably be spread out across a few weeks.
But both King and Queen have around = stats/skills in all the games but I tend to use neither one.

How did I not know you could cancel the call from Prof. Elm after the first gym?
That's just a little trick of editing, unfortunately. I'd love to be able to cancel the calls, but you're stuck being pestered by him!
Where was the first encounter? 🧐
OH NO! I'll add it into the next edit I'm doing!
10:58 vit-uh-mens? I like vitaminininininininins better lol
Why so mean to elm lol😂😂😂😂
