Makita is missing so many obvious opportunities with CXT. Maybe having filled out their XGT line they can quit neglecting these little guys. Could you imagine CXT with a micro off-center CXT router like the Bosch, angled attachments for the chuckless “drill” for drilling/screwing tight places, a Dremel, a brushless update for the little 3.5” circular saw, a soldering iron, and a glue gun? Instead we’ll get five more variants of radios and another coffee maker.
I have the Dewalt version of this and they do the same thing with their "2 handed" mini chainsaw that nobody uses with 2 hands. I've got to laugh a bit, and point out that you were talking about chainsaw safety while removing the gear cover and touching the chain without removing the battery. The audio clips of Sarah's enthusiasm for chainsaws were great. Unexpected and funny.
I've had the banggood 18v 'pruners' which fit Makita batteries and apparently cut up to 40mm. Well I've used them the past 2 years cutting all sorts of stuff from coaxial copper foam cable to copper earth cable to branches. They are brilliant. I would love if someone could make an 18v 'pruner' with an even bigger cutting size though. I would pay good money for them.
Looks like a beautiful set of pruners but $1000+ they’re definitely for the professional and not the home owner. Makita’s professional tools are very well made and great in the hand compared to the normal Makita tools.
Haha I knew you were going to surprise us with both tools :) Pruner looks really nice, but the price is really shocking I must say, weird. Certainly didn't expect that lol
Speaking of getting cumbersome on the wrist, theres a 40v mini rotary hammet drill coking out. Ive got the 12v version but the 40v comes with a chisel option, 12v doesnt. Would a comparison be possible in the future? 40v will probably stomp the 12v but its the chisel function im keen on and if its any good
Makit and dewalt and others are coming after Milwaukee’s 12v dominance Milwakee made 12v cool and they’re reaping the benefits for that risk. I’m glad others are now doing the same as battery a power technology in 12v has really moved up, and i believe they’ll equal the 18 platform (one day)
It's hard to justify the price for the progressive trigger of the shears when Dewalt is $1k less and to make it worst, you need to invest in 12V batteries
Does the Makita pruner have a reduced size cut setting? The Milwaukee (M12) cordless pruner does, and it Odd that a lot of the CXT tools aren't available in the US. OTOH, at least in the US, Milwaukee M12 really dominates the 12v market, so maybe it's not worth the cost of marketing and logistics?
Those shears operate a lot like the Milwaukee M12 Fuel pruning shears! The baby chainsaw definitely needs a bar/chain size increase! My M12 6” baby chainsaw grew up to an 8” size toddler chainsaw…lol!
The original Okatsune manual pruning shears sharpening stone looks better to me because it has a shape to get into the tight corners. That's is by the side the perfect gift for my parents who struggle a bit with the super sharp okatsune pruning shears.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL the secateurs curious on 18 how much more powerful and capacity they can do but some know I think would of been better having battery on tool
For the chainsaw nerds it would be cool to do a test changing to 1/4 pitch sprocket and micro chain on that BAAYBEE CHAINSAWW. Ive seen some Japanese UA-camrs try it with the 18v version with good results. One of them even put a 10 inch bar on it after moding the guard.
It seems like Makita is competing with the BAHCO BCL20iB which has been a favorite with professional pruners for a number of years. Both are very expensive and be hard to justify for the hobbyist. It would be nice to see how they compare.
@@RegisG. Yes I agree with you that the FELCO and PELLENC are in a class of their own in quality and price. Makita has their DUP362Z that competes with them but it just hasn’t taken off in Australia like Felco. The BAHCO BCL20iB is a cheaper option and from what I have seen is very popular in vine yards.
Making fun of PPE is no joke, I've seen people get metal and wood particles in their eyes, ending up going to hospital and off work for days just because they are to lazy to put on safety glasses which only takes seconds.
Based on the manufacturing finish and features, those shears are aimed at professionals. Not surprised at the price if they are designed for all day every day use
Cant get my head around electric secatuers, got a no name saw like that but its like scisors clamp below the chain cuts through any wood you can fit in the jaws.
@@justinvanaulen2478same in EU, it cost 700€, i also expect to cost 200€ when i saw the video, when i check online i was shocked😢 i really wanted to buy it😢😢
I dont know exactly what the price is but from the comments its looking like over $1k if that's true im going to say fuck off makita and switch to milwaukee because im tired of being gouged on the less ordinary tools by makita
I have well over $10k in makita tools, and have purchased the way overpriced things like the 13' pole saw, laser level, grease gun, 3/8 power file and more which are all about double the price of what every other brand, with equivalent or less performance,
The shears should cost aroud 200€ with battery and charger, since they already have a professional shear that cost 1000€, this one should be for home use and cost close to the mini chainsaw, why makita, why, im so disappointed, i guess il buy a 5€ manual shears for now, in my country this cost close to 700€ which is crazy, what do they thinking 😢😢
After buying the ryobi for my mrs I thought, beauty - a makita. Then I looked up the price. Bizarre. The ryobi brushless is very good. So, Makita weird about nailguns and secateurs. Cheers PP
I think I know someone named Sarah who will love this video‼️🤣🤣

I might get those secateurs, checks the price, I'll stick to my manual ones.
I just bought the mock up version.............
Impressed by the shears, they are straight on the Makita acquisition list.
I had a look and it sells for around $1,149.00 Australian, dearer than any 18V device I've bought!
@@whya2ndaccount Holy moly, ok they're off the list!
Haha I said baby chainsaw the moment I saw it only to be greeted by Sarah’s “Baby Chainsaw” right after. Well done!! Gave me a good chuckle.
So now you need to do the battle of the baby chainsaws between the MUC100DZ(CXT) and the MUC101DZ(LXT).
