Interesting how jackalope keeps mentioning “eras” and stuff, like saying how our era doesn’t consider Yuno’s situation as a murder and even at the end “I must say it was quite brilliant of me for choosing your era”. Does this imply milgram has been going on for a really long time, centuries even?
And about the end again, probably have to double check this but it the person talking at the end uses “watashi” personal pronouns instead of “ore-sama” which jackalope normally uses but it seems to be his voice so what’s going on?

Its not so much relate as literally are the same right? If not worse, at least within the fiction of milgram. We are taking part in a group effort online to deem a person guilty or innocent. If they are deemed guilty we know they will suffer greatly. Our actions will most likely lead to the deaths of at least some of them. One must hope that Fuuta is innocent. Because if he is guilty we surely are too. At least anyone that has ever voted guilty.

For those who don't know, in 9:23 one of the Japanese comment said that the last word are "you have all turned out to be psychopaths who like other people's misfortune".
*Edit: maybe the reason we are call that is because of how although we care for the prisoner, we still subconscious want to see them suffering, or how we vote what we want base on our desires(whether it's pity, curious or something else) even if it will hurt the prisoner because deep inside we still think of them as "characters in a story"?
Edit 2: it seems the original author have tweeted that what we have been called is not "psychopaths" but something else.
Edit 3: from one of the comments below it seem like what we are being called is "masterpieces" instead of "psychopaths".

by the way, deco*27 said he’s at a good point on the new songs back in january. the hallucination live booklet containing the script read by the VAs also had a few interviews and in deco’s he outright mentions he’d already been working on the songs back then. we are so NOT back guys 💙

それぞれのテーマのようなものが見えてきたのでまとめておきます。
ハルカ → 発達障害を抱えた弱者である彼ならば、最愛の人に振り向いてもらうためならば、自分よりも弱い弱者を殺すことは赦されるのか？
ユノ → たとえ人間と呼ばれる前の状態とはいえ、”それが生命とは感じられなかった”という軽々しい気持ちで人殺しをしても赦されるのか？
フータ → 匿名、集団性、無責任性の３つが揃ったSNS上で、集団のうちの一人とはいえ軽々しい気持ちで人を死に追いやったのは赦されるのか？
◇ムウ → 子供だから、未成年だからという理由で同級生を殺したことは赦されるのか？”いじめ”の定義とは？
◇シドウ → 医療行為だから、誰かを救うためだからという理由で人を殺したことは赦されるのか？
◇マヒル → 愛ならばその結末が死につながったとして赦されるのか？
カズイ → 嘘をつくのをやめ、誠実に生きるためならばその過程で人を傷つけてもいいのか？少数派であれば同情されるのか？
アマネ → 子供ならば、環境への依存度が高いのであれば人を殺してもいいのか？良い悪いの判断ができた年齢にも関わらず人を殺めたのは赦されるのか？
ミコト → 別人格であれば無数の人間を殺害してもいいのか？”仕方がない”で彼らの犠牲を全て無視していいのか？
コトコ → 正義を貫き通すためにその過程で無数の犠牲が生まれてもいいのか？善を為すために悪事を働くのはいいのか？
◇のマークはまだ動機などの未確定の部分が多い囚人。
個人としての「罪」の判別で言えばそうかもしれないが、
エル自身、看守自身の罪についても考えなければならないかな、とボイスドラマを聞いて思ったかな。
特にアマネとムウ。
ムウ、「復讐に復讐の連鎖」は赦される。赦されない。どちらなのだろう
アマネについては「子供の発言権」(子供だから是正の余地がある)はないのか、ということや、また、宗教(常識)という曖昧なものに対して信じ込むことは悪なのかというのもありそう。
ムウに関しては、
「報復」はありか？なしか？というのも含まれていそうですね
(「報復」という言葉の意味とは少しズレるかもですが)
嫌なことをされたらやり返す、見られたくないものを見られたら見た人が口外できないようにする、という考えが赦されるか、みたいな感じで

たしかに、アマネの二審ボイスドラマのタイトルは「幸福と報復と」でしたね
「自分がされたこと以上の行動を報復として行っていいか」というのもムウとアマネのコンセプトになっていそうです
個人的にムウに関しては、「いじめたらいじめ返されたから殺した」的なかんじだと思う

Haruka made it clear that if we vote Muu guilty, he will commit suicide. So, bid goodbye to Haruka, Muu won't stop him. She made it clear when Es asked her about Haruka.

but he claims he has no siblings and has never had anyone he loves, which leads me to extremely wild theories on what she is, and if she's even real or if she's some kind of complicated gender metaphor and haruka did everything self-inflicted.

Just so yall know, the talk about "eras" confirms the fact that this isn't the first time Milgram has captured and brought people to justice.
There is an official manga out there that showcases different prisoners and an entirely different Es who is a girl in that version.
This "Milgram" we're seeing is nothing more than another cycle in the multiple times that Milgram has existed
my thoughts with that last section implies its possible this is a mix of the movie Circle an the alien bastard from Madoka Magica where they harvest the strange emotions an thoughts of humans out of curiosity an maybe something more
That manga in turn was adopted from the first light novel (there's 2 now). Both are prequels, and the trials held in them used a different, quicker system than the current one
In the second novel the Es of that milgram who was also prisoner in the milgram of the first novel mentions that it could be also different milgrams, but I personally think that is more like a cycle in which after Es is judged it repeats itself but changes their system, instalations and even jackalope for each "Es"

Jackalope calling us out every damn time always gave me goosebumps. I really like how they keep watching the audiences discussions and nailed to make us rethinking our decisions only to remind us that every bit of our decisions will affects the prisoners. Ngl it scares me LOL

The voice in the end is really interesting. It sounds a little similar to Jackalope and it seems like if he is going to tell (probably the audience since the use of "all") if the have been judge innocent or guilty by the way it is worded, but it cuts before it ends. I believe that if Haruka has truly died we can expect a guilty veredict. (Letting someone die to either not compromise our justice or in order to punish someone who has mocked us. It doesn't sound like favourable case)
The Japanese comment said the last part sound like "you all turned out to be psychopaths who enjoy others misery"

Consider - has she recovered enough to not be reliant on Shidou? Shidou is being targeted. If we lose him, will Mahiru survive without his help? That's something that might "happen around her" even without anything happening to her.
@@puregoldengrace5810my only concern is iirc it was mentioned that she needs consistent medical attention now or else she won't make it. shidou got voted innocent but amane did as well, so if she does anything to incapacitate shidou then mahiru is basically dead

想像通りだなぁ、物語が進むにつれて物語を見ているひとはそれぞれのキャラに愛着が湧いて、第三者としてキャラを見れなくなって、自分の好き嫌いを通していく。
法律、司法が関係ないからこそのこれ。人間性出てゾクゾクするね。
証拠としては少ないけど最後ら辺の｢お前は看守だ｣の口調が地味に強いのはやっぱりエス(看守)は元々囚人だったのでは？

と、直感的に感じました。
やはりどこか「これはフィクションだから」という思考が我々に残っているからなのかもなとも思います。
一審も二審も赦さないって人がいないの...本当に悩ませてくれるなぁ...って思う...ミルグラム....

I like how Jackalope is basically roasting us for the verdicts this trial, pointing out how out trial 2 verdicts were just to fix the errors created by our trial 1 verdict
I mean yeah, but what else could we have do? 😂 Jackalope said it himself, we can't go back on our desicions and we clearly didn't expect that kotoko would cause a mess so it's only natural for us to at this point only want to keep all of our prisoners protected or at least alive 😭😔

kind of out of topic but forgiven and unforgiven being translated officially as innocent and guilty is probably the biggest localization fumble I've seen in my life
real. i think a good number of english speakers who actually vote understand the concept now, but the first trial was basically trash because no one knew wtf was going on or what they were doing. there was really no reason futa shouldve (or wouldve) been voted guilty, for example. not to mention the voting mishaps in the second trial... this project was really creative and interesting but it has not been going so well. even the writers have expressed confusion and surprise at how the trials have turned out lol

@kanashiicup Yes, because if you pay attention in the trials, Futa is not the only one attacking that girl. We can assume he was one of maybe hundreds of people harassing her. I doubt it was just his comment that made her do that, but rather all of those people going after her at once. Futa liked bringing "justice" upon people online because it made him feel better about himself, but it was never his intention for her to commit suicide. It could happen to anyone, really. Someone does something you believe is bad, so you leave a comment criticizing it without thinking. Your comment may not have said anything very harsh and the thing they did may not have even been very big, but if they kill themselves, you still contributed. Does that make you a person not worthy of forgiveness?

Jackalope bringing up Haruka's deal and Shidou's duty is what I expected, but the sheer amount of foreshadowing he does is worrying. Wondering if Mahiru will survive, mentioning Amane's "fate", and that last statement about "something you can't take back" makes me worry if all nine of them are making it to the third round.
And yet, I don't really disagree with the choices we made. Maybe that'll change at the start of the next round, but I'll keep my probably misaligned confidence until then.

Jackalope essentially confirming Mikoto has multiple murders comes off as really strange to me. Personally I think double heavily points to him killing one person (with the whole mannequins inside/outside the train thing) and meme could make it at most he had 3. But jackalope is definitely known for overdramatising/lying about stuff like with Haruka and Muu’s relationship so that could be the case here. And like, cmon there’s no way he has more kills than Shidou. And interesting how jackalope bought of the number of kills for mikoto but not shidou in terms of their innocent verdicts.
Edit: also thinking this could be likely as jackalope specifically used an derogatory term with Mikoto’s did unlike previous times where he referred to it normally. And especially with how es became very sympathetic and understanding towards John, more so than any of the other people in the prison and with John being exempt from the rules perhaps jackalope sees this as a threat. And deliberately portrayed them in a more negative light with this report and banking off of John’s suspicious stamens about killing a lot of random people
Mikoto is implied to have killed a lot of people and , while he mock us, Jackalope wouldn't lie directly to us. I also don't think describing Haruka and Muu relationship as slave-queen was an understatement either.
I think that the reason he mentioned Mikoto's victims and not Shidou is because he wants to use the best argumentation to makes as doubt and Mikoto's kill count (the consequences he denies,the people he has hurt) is more relevant for his case than Shidou's.

And with Haruka and muu it’s more so they’re codependent and essentially enslaved to each other for support rather than muu is manipulating haruka. 1. I don't know what you thought was Shidou's crime but he seem to have commited his crime while acting as a profesional (he talked about dissconecting brain dead people and covincing the families to do so. He, after having a son in that situation, changed his perspective about his work.) Jackalope mock us for forgiving him for our interest (making things safer) so his kill count doesn't matter for his argument.
2. I don't know which part of Mikoto swinging his bat in a subway and striking multiple manequins makes you think he only killed one person.
3. They are both dependant, dependant to an unhealthy dinamic where "he does everything I say"(by Muu's own words in the second trial song teaser video) and where she is going to let him commit suicide for her sake while she denies any guilt(In the app conversation, she is even shown preventing people from discovering Haruka's plan). It sickens me how people overlook that Muu is taking advantage of an extremely unstable person because she has the necesity of stepping over other people (Just watch her second MV). She is dependant to being harmful to others and having people to obey her, and that doesn't put her in an even foot with Haruka nor makes her deserving of pity. (I feel really stongly about this topic, sorry If came across as rude).
@@LanieMae In my case I voted him inno because after hearing the cd drama and everything if his "crime" is convincing families to donate the organs of patients that were already in vegetative state or with low probability of ever waking up again I don't consider him "unforguvable/guilty" at all and the fact that he's helping everyone is just a really nice plus. I feel more or less the same way towards him than towards Yuno, I won't vote them guilty even if they think they should be.

@@everythingz888 The novels feature groups of prisoners being judged before our current set, but those prisoners reference Kotoko's crime in a past tense, so it's a little unusual for her to appear in the prison after they did.

Amane hates the fact that Shidou is providing medical treatment, Mahiru needs constant medical treatment, yet Amane was also forgiven and is thus, free to roam around and do whatever... Say, what if she decides to attack Shidou, either at a time when he’s providing medical treatment to someone or after he’s done so, do you think Shidou will have the emotional strength to fully push her away and not get severally injured in return? Amane could also hurt Mahiru instead to revert whatever treatment was provided by Shidou since that alone is a major sin in her eyes. Futa could also be a wild card this time around considering his relationship with Amane, let’s hope he was fully honest when he said that he despises physical violence, however you can also cause major harm with emotional/psychological violence but we’ll see how he acts this time around...Another possible threat could even involve Haruka and/or Mu who’re both unstable in their own way, even if they’re restrained they might become too desperate and pull something wild. Though it’s more likely that Haruka would do something to himself if were to Mu ask him to hurt someone for her he might just go for it. Kazui could help, but that might only account for one person, so who knows...We also have Mikoto/John, perhaps if this new verdict helped stabilize them then maybe they too could help protect someone but, again, that’s not a certainty, and we for sure can’t count on Yuno to do anything, she’s more likely going to be even more isolated form the group. In short, there’s a lot of things that could happen that might affect Mahiru in one way or another and after the 1st trial’s results, I can’t trust the Milgram team not to hurt us in some way.

I don't think it's jackalope at the end but I feel I should add that watashi is a more formal/polite pronoun and is more common for people to change from ore/boku to watashi when talking to someone like their boss

I know we're already at the start of T3, but I am personally of the opinion we should not vote, kinda like Yuno mentioned in her T2 song if I'm not wrong.
There are many reasons for it, and I know it's impossible to convince the entire fandom and the "not voting" option has always been kind of impossible from the start, because even if a single person votes, this option gets thrown out the window, but I still think it would be the best for various reasons.
1) We don't know what happens to the prisoners after the thrid vote. I personally don't feel like I have the right to choose the fate of people, especially when I have no idea of the repercussions. (I personally have never voted since T1 and never will, because as much as I do have opinions about the characters, I refuse to actively do something that will change their lives)
2) I think not voting, even if T3 is already far into the project, might actually result in something really interesting.
I mean, if the guard, who's vote is absolute, decides not to vote, what will be of MILGRAM?
Es might actually have the upper hand and maybe manage to get info out of Jackalope in such a situation.
The list could go on, but I think these two are the most remarkable points.

Nah, I agree with you. I’ve felt from the start that we really shouldn’t have voted on anyone because no matter what we do there will be consequences and we don’t have the information needed to make accurate decisions. Not just information about what will happen after the voting is done, but also all the details and intricacies that lead to each of the prisoners’ murders. Plus there, the fact that I don’t think it’s fair to judge them in the same way since each of their circumstances is different from one another... Like you said, there’s certainly numerous reasons as to why we shouldn’t have voted, but having 0 votes for a project of this nature is virtually impossible (especially considering that some people want to vote for the sake of chaos), it would’ve been interesting to see Jackalope’s reactions if that had happened, but sadly I don’t see it happening -_-.

@@Newzpotatoz It's not unlikely that Amane will make it so Shidou CAN'T help. Like Jackalope said he might be incapacitated. Personally i think she's goint to break or even cut off his hands. Shidou's hands have always had a weird focus on them and in his recent MV they seem to be a representation of his work (and will to live by extension).
Kazui instead might just not realize the attacks are happening until it's too late, like with Mahiru. Unlike Shidou who has all the time in the world to help AFTER the fact. Kazui can only help WHILE the attack happens. Or maybe he's gonna die or smth idk.
