    I'm rewatching these classes as part of my preparation to teach the Book of Mormon to high school kids in our Sunday School class, because they are phenomenal! I have thought back on this series many times over the past few years. So thank you very much for your time and effort in this!

    I felt what Joseph felt when God spoke to me after I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon is true. God said to me "It is true and you need to get baptized." And I knew then that God knew that I knew it is true. I was baptised 3 days after my 21st Birthday, 43 years ago.

    Like most of us, my wife and I are very busy with all our kids sports and activities. It is great to be able to pull up your videos and have a little outside gospel class in our home to add to our study. You are very entertaining and insightful, and you give us new ideas, info, and perspective on the gospel. Keep up the good work brother

    Through the last few days I was wondering what I needed to learn about the “restoration” As I was watching this. In some random spot I had my uha moment. It is so that I will be restored to God, restored from the fall back to Gods presence. A split sec after I was writing “presence of God”. You said, “presence of God”. I just thought that was cool. Thanks for your good work.

    Yay for Lego swords! I always knew there was a purpose for them, besides falling down the heater vent, or poking your bare foot when you walk on them. Powerful class, I really appreciate your teaching style.

    There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Eborn Books.

    "THE LORD DID NOT COME with the armies of heaven, in power and great glory, nor send His messengers panoplied with aught else than the truth of heaven, to communicate to the meek, the lowly, the youth of humble origin, the sincere enquirer after the knowledge of God. BUT HE DID SEND HIS ANGEL to this same obscure person, Joseph Smith, Jun., who afterwards became a Prophet, Seer, and Revelator, and informed him that he should not join any of the religious sects of the day, for they were all wrong; that they were following the precepts of men instead of the Lord Jesus; that He had a work for him to perform, inasmuch as he should prove faithful before Him." -President Brigham Young ( JoD vol. 2, pg. 170)

    Incredibly powerful speaker. Fun to listen to and entertaining. No wonder that he is paid to indoctrinate kids. Anyhow, a stark contrast to Dan Vogel's videos, both in terms of presentation style and actual information presented.

    • @scottvance74
      @scottvance74 2 роки тому

      @@richardholmes5676 Dan Vogel has a series of videos about LDS church history and apologetics. His research is generally very accurate, but his presentation is sometimes drawn out and his voice is slightly nasal which makes him hard to listen to for more than 10 minutes. His books are influential in the mormon history community and he often has disagreements with apologists on topics like the Book of Abraham and whether or not the Book of Mormon is an ancient text.

    Hey, if the presentation is only 51 minutes long why do you spend so much time talking about the bookstore you are in? I came for the presentation, to learn and be uplifted. Instead, i get a lecture about a bookstore.

    Pretty dishonest presentation. Why didn't you talk about how the 1832 account conflicts with the 1838 account? Why didn't you talk about the 1832 account being cut out of the letter book to hide it for over 30 years.

    • @debbiehill0730
      @debbiehill0730 4 роки тому +9

      He didn't talk about ANY of them. He encouraged us to go and find out for ourselves. Conflict is how you see it. It's not always easy to find the words to describe something like this. It doesn't have to be upsetting that the words change.

    • @therusfosterson238

      Nothing dishonest at all. Mentioning everything is impossible. Your logic is .... illogical.

      It is generally not nice to call someone a liar. In polite society one tries to reason and engage in intellectual discussion. You could rephrase your reply such as “what is your opinion on the 1832 accounts versus the 1838 account”. This allows open conversation. By starting your sentence the way it does it immediately divides us. I believe our Father does not want us to fight but to reason one with another. I am sure you have many great insights that many would love to hear. Shalom my brother.

      What is your opinion on the different accounts of Jesus and His life by the Apostles in the Bible? In one story a guy was blind, same story given by a different apostle the guy is not blind... does this make the story untrue/conflict/fake? This is just one example of many.

    It's too bad Mormons spend so much time talking about everything and everybody except Christ. My prayer is that one day they will actually read the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book. This just breaks my heart that they don't have a clue about who Christ is and how the Bible is the infallible word of God. We need to pray for these misguided people. OK???

      I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I love Christ. I love how we have both the Bible and the Book of Mormon to testify of Christ. I have personally gone through, verse by verse, chapter by chapter, through the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Book of Mormon. Christ is through it all and I love learning so much about Him. By going through the varying testimonies of Christ given throughout history, I feel I know Him on a very personal level. If I may, I'd like to hear your perspective; who is Christ to you?

      price pruett you are willfully misinformed. You come here to accuse and condemn based on your knowledge of the Bible, and yet you forget that Jesus himself came not to condemn, but to save. Your words will convert no souls to Yahweh. He is filled with love and compassion and your prayers are filled with judgement and hypocrisy.
      Every man and woman gets to choose their own path to Christ, and the LDS church IS one of those paths. I’m sure they appreciate your concern, but they have the capacity to worry for their own souls without your “prayers.” Before you consider the mote in your brothers eye, don’t forget the beam in your own.
