I didn't seek this car out for any particular history, I just wanted a good solid roller to go vintage short track racing with. We uncovered the cars history after I had already told Jeff I would buy it. Funny how some things work out isn't it?

Question, can You do something like a shop list while You go? Like how much You spent in individual parts (no need to for exact prices, just rough gide what someone need to spend on something like that) I'm from Europe and we don't have a nascar in here so I'm wondering if You need to spend kind off similar money on club racing in here or more/less. Great videos, I think You one of few, if not the only channel I watched almost every video You posted. Thanks!

I love the Gen 4 cars, even the later Gen 4's that were "twisted sisters" with their wacky looking asymmetrical bodies. Those things tore up the intermediate tracks and made for some great racing. And despite the weird looks, they were still very sleek looking, sexy machines. The 3 generations of cars that followed them have all been ugly ducklings that I just can't warm up to.

    • @Stapleton42

Make sure that the back of both heads. Has a braided ground strap to the firewall where there will be continuity to the ignition board ground as the coil output to the spark plugs does not vanish into the heads. It has to get back to the ground side of the ignition control boxes. Failure to do that usually results in the negative side high voltage getting to the module grounds via the positive low voltage side letting the smoke out of the low voltage chips. Those chips blow out at 20 to 25 volts. 30kv thru them looses races. Why both heads. Shorten the spark return path.

I love the attention to detail you cover in your videos. You should try to get to the prairie dirt classic in Fairbury IL. It's one of the best dirt track races of the year. I think you would really get a great video out of it. I'm sure there are some local race teams that would let you come to their shop. If you can't find anyone. I have someone who is a 3rd generation driver. I know he would do it for sure.

I think you should get the road race car so you could do it in Kevin Harvick colors but do your "SAW" Logo right across the hood of the car. Then we can put the number 42 on the sides. But try it out in the Kevin Harvick colors first. Or do the Kevin Harvick look on a wrap and then wrap the car after you sandblast it all the way down to bare metal then primer the car to stick.

Congrats on the 2nd Monte !. It's time for you to 'Specialize' and become 'The Monte Carlo Guy' by adding a 3rd which should be a G-Body Monte SS as a drag build.

Those MSD ignition spark boxes, you can send them to the factory and they test and rebuild them for like $75.00 each.

Blaise Alexander is a set of dealerships right up the road from me. Blaise Jr raced and was a driver in arca and was killed in a wreck during a race. Our towns were definitely wanting him to make it to the big leagues and were hurt when he was killed. Can’t thank you enough for showing all this kind of stuff

In 2012, I purchased a motor home from a dealer here in South jersey. I knew the owner of the dealership from street racing in the 80's & he eventually raced ARCA. So when I was closing the deal, he asked if I'd help him off load a race car he bought. He opened the trailer & there sat a blue & silver Ford . I said "why does this car look familiar?" Turns out it was the CitiFinancial car that Carl Edwards raced & won at Montreal road course. It was so cool to touch that car!
