I've had dachshunds in my life for 42 years now. I currently am the proud owner of 8 of them. Each one is unique in their own way but they are all the most loving and devoted to me. They love to get themselves buried under the blankets as well as they love to bark. They are great hunters with no fear and are definitely a pack that will stick with each other and they don't back down. I could write a book on their adventures.

I have had the wonderful pleasure of having a standard female dachshund for thirteen+ years. She was so devoted to me it was amazing.
Sadly she passed away this passed July.
    I miss her very much.
I am up in years and doubt I will ever have such a friend again.
It is difficult to write this message.
    It is true and honest.
I wish everyone could have a friend like Lolly.
She will be remembered for the rest of my days.
Thank you for a very good video

I feel the same way with my dachshund as he gets older. I’m going to go into a spiral once he passes. But one thing is, even if you can’t replace your dachshund with an exact, you’ll likely run into an equally original personality with another dachshund. I thought there was no way others have as awesome of a dachshund as me but it seems to me now, almost everyone has an awesome dachshund. All slightly different in their personality but equal in their love for you.

My heart goes out to you. I know how you feel, I lost my dachshund of 15 years last week. My husband & I dont have any children so he was definately my baby, friend, & will always be family.
We got him a little friend, a 1 yr old female dachshund almost 2 years ago,& I am SO thankful for her & the bright light she brings right now every day in my deep sadness missing him. -We are now trying to make sure she doesn’t develop IVDD and heart problems too. These really are the best, sweetest, loyal, funny,& loving breed of dogs I’ve ever had.❤

I’ve owned many different breeds of dogs in my 75 years. I now proudly have my 3rd Dachshund! They are wonderful pets. Extremely smart, very devoted, loving, sensitive (feelings get hurt easily), but wonderful companions! They can be stubborn from time to time but you can work around that. I LOVE, LOVE them. If I were physically able I would have 2 or 3 more. I also have a 14 year old Pekingese who has been blind about 3 years. My Dachshund is so caring and patient with him. He amazes me the ways he tries to assist my blind dog. Dachshunds are the BEST!! ❤️❤️

I don’t have a dachshund but my client that I clean for does and he has stolen my heart. He can’t wait for me to come play with him! I believe that he thinks I’m coming there just for him. And he’s a stinker ! Steals all my rags, shoes, my lunch ( I think he thinks I brought the lunch for him) but I can tell he is very very smart and he’s thinking all the time. The room I iron in has a bed right next to the board which he lays and watches me iron ( soooo cute, who watches somebody iron clothes) but then he has to come on my iron board and lay there and give kisses and wash his tail like crazy. I think he’s telling me to take a break and go play outside with him! He’s also very very fast!!!! No joke but he’s faster than a speeding bullet!!!

My mini dachshund surprisingly only eats when he’s hungry. I did not train him to do that, he did that from day one when I brought him home. I was worried at first that that he wasn’t eating enough before I went to work cause I would barely give him any (as to not feed him too much) and he sometimes still would bot eat it all. And now, I just leave his bowl full and he goes to it and eats when he wants. I usually refill his bowl every two days because that’s when he empties it completely. He’s also not overweight. He weighs just alittle over 12 lbs and is complimented by the vet each visit 🥰

I acquired my deaf dachshund back in 2009, she was about 9 months at that time and is now 14. Even at her age she still (in my opinion) acts like a puppy. I have taught her a couple signs; out, in, walk and she knows them all. Coco is the second dachshund I have been involved with, they are fabulous dogs.

Ugh. I just remember getting a dachshund from a friend right out of high school. I lived with my grandparents at the time, I told my Gpa to meet me at the baseball field so we can hit some baseballs. I had my little dachshund (cooper) sitting on the bucket of baseballs. He spotted him and was SOOO mad but after a few weeks, months and years he became the love of his life lol. Now I moved away and live pretty far away, I have cooper with me and I’m pretty sure he loves Cooper the most in the family. Always asking about him and his health always asking for pictures. Lol dachshunds sure do have a special way with you. So much love and personality.

My little baby girl Phoebe lived for seventeen years. She gave us so much happiness and had more friends in the town of Paris than we did. She was invited into stores and offices all the time. Important is training when they are young. They are a very intelligent breed for sure. Phoebe lived a charmed life and it was a shock to lose her even though she lived a good long life. I like to think that she's playing somewhere right now with her kid friends. I'll never forget you PuppyGirl.

It started when I fell in love with a friend's dachshund. I was on quick lunch break at the hospital I was working at. In the newspaper it had an ad for dachshunds. I called and arranged to see the pups. There were two left. One was long haired and one was short. I wanted short so that was that. Heidi Red Desert Lady had her only three pups when she was 10. She lived two more years after their birth. Her three lasses developed into great personalities. We also had the Daddy. It has been phenomenal having the four of them! Hunter turned one year old just a day before they were born! Then, we ended up with two more from another source. I wouldn't trade them for anything even though each has their very distinct "Doxie" personality. Those who are owned by Doxies will understand exactly what is meant by that. I should write a book and feature them and all the FUN they have been for us. They own us and the house. They allow us to live in THEIR home. I do believe they have us essentially trained as they would like us to be. Then again, they keep a close eye on us and keep working at furthering ownership of us.

She needs help getting up stairs and off furniture even though she has portable stairs available. Doxies are a lovely breed and their attitudes only add to their character. She's the best mouser I've ever had and I've lost track of her hunting trophy. Star is my heart and I feel privileged sharing home with her.

I currently have 3 mini Dachshunds, They are all miniatures with one being short haired red smooth coat named Molly and 1 black and tan long-haired names Doodles and the third one is Sugars a tiny red long hair. They are my best friends and I love each one so much. I have had so many doxies my whole life ever since a child who was a standard-size red smooth coat that followed me all over the neighborhood. His name was Wiener Snitchel Watson. since Weiner we had a mini smooth red named Heidi and her daughter Gretchen black smooth coat and Gretchen was diabetic and I gave her insulin shots every day, after Heidi and Gretchen came muffin (german name: Klien Bruchen von Watson) After Muffin I got Schnapps and Opie Schnapps was a smooth red and Opie was a smooth black and tan. He only weighed 4 pounds and was my little man my lover boy, After Schnapps I got Molly then Sugars and last but not least Doodles. They are the love of my life always wanting to sit on me on the couch and cuddle. They will sit on the back of my couch looking out the window watching everything that moves and barking at it, They are so loving and caring and a handful as we now have a huge fenced-in back yard and a doggie door so they can go out whenever they want. They chase birds butterflies squirrels and chipmunks and rabbits. They are very much hunting dogs but rarely catch anything,

I have had a number of Dachshund's; I have had some that have been a-holes and some that have been sweet as can be. I walked them pretty regularly. The last one I had I took for a walk once after we got her. She walked about 50 yards and refused to move. After that every time I got a leash out she would flatten out wherever she was and refuse to move. It got to be so funny we used it as a parlor trick when we had visitors.

I started dating my partner nearly 3 years ago, with her came her rescue dachshund from Lithuania. This dog is the one of the most challenging dogs I’ve come across, bare in mind a lot of problems due to her tough start to life. She came into my partners life at 1 year old and had never been walked and already had a litter. She is incredibly stubborn but incredibly intelligent. As a dog trainer she is my biggest and most rewarding client. She can be reactive but generally very good with dogs of a similar size. Biggest problem is separation anxiety. We have a routine where she spends some time by herself each day. She’s nearly 5 now. We still can’t leave her alone without her barking and howling non stop. It’s avoided unless absolutely necessary. She is an absolutely hilarious dog, extremely vocal, does a lot of “screaming” rather than barking. I always advise people to do their research and work on independence with any breed but with a dachshund if you don’t want a vocal dog start straight away! All in all, she’s my best friend, partner in crime and I love her❤

My first one was a rescue and having large breed dogs at home and then adding this little one what is the most comical life experience we had. They have amazing personalities. Sadly he passed away and we decided to go with three puppies. What can I say my puppy ovaries were crying. What a life experience it’s been. The only thing I don’t like is because I have two males and one female, the two boys have not been able to be spayed yet and now they are marking around my house. It’s due to a medical addition with their livers. The female was done on time. Now my poor boys have to wear diapers but they are adjusting well. If you want a dog that will keep you on your toes and make you laugh and laugh and laugh and give you the best cuddles, this is the dog for you. And make no mistake, they will guard your house. Try going through a rescue, there are many looking for homes. I work in rescue and my first wiener dog was a foster failure. I couldn’t let the little guy go. And the best thing about little dogs is when they’re being stubborn you can just pick them up. Can’t do that with a Rottweiler

My 13 year old Minnie died last year after eating chocolate left out by house sitter. It killed her within 24 hours. She chewed through the cellophane wrap on a gift basket and ate a bag of dark chocolate. Please never underestimate their food drive😢

Grew up with these adorable little guys and also cats. Love them both. These guys are stubborn similarly to cats. I always loved that about this breed. Right now me and husband share home with 2 beautiful black cats. One male and one female. My husband is very much a cat person never owned a dog.

Loved the video. I pray to find another Doxy. Oh, the love we, as a family, have shared throughout the decades with our 3 doxy babies. I do smile & reminisce, but now looking to love on another sweet little baby or two, or three....
If I may help you rehome your baby, that would definitely be a win-win situation. Please know he/she will be nurtured & loved on. I welcome your response.

I recently adopted a young redhead female Dachshund that is mixed with the following other breeds: 1) 15" Beagle (she has the longer legs, sturdy and strong), 2) a little chihuahua (slightly noticed in the face) 3) maybe even Ridge back (as she has a red ridge on her back line). She is simply awesome and keeps me on my toes and my other oldeechihuahua/Pug mixed dog too. I hear they are goid for hiking. When it warms up a little here in NV me and my best friends will go on local bike tours and camp for a night or two.

I'm Bipolar 1 & 2. She really keeps me calm and content. She's only 10 months old. The same age as my Grandson.❤

There is not a single day that I don't think about them. It hasn't been easy but our love was mutual so I think they liver a full and healthy life

I adore mine. He’s a miniature and his name is Dino. One of the smartest dogs I’ve ever had. I can tell he adores me. He jumps on the back of the couch when I’m sitting on it and pulls my hair for attention. Yes, they are greedy anything that hits the floor no matter how fast I am he gets to it first.🌭 They’re wonderful companions!!!

My ultra miniature dachshund (Chorizo) is VERY active, like you mentioned they can tend to be in the video, he is only usually stubborn when it comes to bedtime. He can be stubborn other times though, like if he wants to sniff something out even though its not his territory. Despite most rabbits in the area being twice his size, he seems to want to play with them 😅... unlike my beagle who is far more stubborn, she will stand outside waiting ducked in the grass for an unsuspecting rabbit to come along. (We do have her checked within the same week if she catches one)

So I have a dachshund her name is Daisy may points
    First. Middle last
She is 9 her birthday is December 24 so she’s about to turn 10
    And like the video said
    They are very stubborn,
    They LOVE food,
They are more capable then u think 🤔 ,
    They have there own ways,
They can tend to be very naughty,
but they are a very good dog breed and I recommend to get one if you’re looking for a pet to have
Btw my dog’s birthday is a week after mine and I’m also 9 turning 10
My birthday is December 17 and Daisys is December 24
