Was able to sift through them and organize, kept what I wanted and donated the rest to some newish players who love the idea of Pauper.
I think this deck could use the Witch's Cottages to bounce back a creature to the top of your library allowing you to cast Gary again after loosing him to Pestilence. I really like the Witch's Cottage for all mono black decks, Pauper or otherwise.... Great Deck as always Prof!!!!!!
never thought i'd see the prof do a video on my favorite deck. ever since i got hooked on pauper this was the way to go, lots of fun... it has alot of variants too. currently using MBC with a crap ton of discard then finish the game with Pestilence, Evincar's Justice, and Gray Merchant
I love that you're doing content on this format! Pauper is so good for the magic constructed. I like that you went for a build that has clear win conditions - makes it a lot more fun to pilot. I am curious about one thing though: Is whisper agent really better than phyrexian rager? seems like the higher power doesn't really matter that much in this deck, and draw 1 seems much better than surveil 1.
The creator of this version, MrPrototype, said that part of the reason why he choose the agent was because it was a better creature against tron, the same reason why you see 2 gurmag anglers and duress mainboard. Other than that I'd say that it depends on what you want your second 3-drop to do. If you want a card that replaces itself but doesn't have good stats, go with the rager, but if you want better stats with flash and more devotion without the replacing effect, use the agent
God I wish my friends played pauper 😭😭😭 This is my favorite format. It's fun, budget, a Brewers Paradise of powerful old cards and a ton of possibilities. Coming from someone who has only ever played commander because I hate buying cardboard then being told I can't play with it after 2 yrs just sucks. Let me say I had a blast. I even had fun figuring out how to properly sideboard. Someone gave me a hint since it was a mirrorish game. They told me to think of the cards I liked in my deck and then find cards in the sideboard that would turn my deck from magic is fun yes please into oh crud magic was fun. I managed to get 4 full games in before our commander league started, and we went back to the way magic is properly played. 100 card singleton... I now have a problem I need help solving. I would like to build a battle box with 6-10 pauper decks. I have 3 decks pick out so far and will list below. What I am looking for are decks that can almost hang together ie 4-8 tier 1 and maybe 2 tier 1.5. Talking to the group of players this was the power that we decided to play with. The thinking is if all the decks are strong then no matter what deck is grabbed from the box it should be able to face off with almost all the other decks. Pauper is great. The decks are really cheap so you can make a few and have your friends make a few so you don't really get bored playing one deck, as is common in other, more expensive formats. I built this deck by trading in an Oko+Questing Beast friday night. The night before you posted this video. I sat down with a friend and played my first game of pauper. I will never play standard, modern, pioneer, legacy again. The play style is so simple yet complex and the meta after the recent bans is so wide in variety. Please do me a huge favor though Brian. Go back through your old pauper videos like the Delver deck tech and either tell people cards have been banned or remove that video. I almost bought cards for the deck and forgot to check the ban lists. Only reason why I didn't buy them was because the deck was too expensive at this time with preordains and such. Would also love to see you do Pauper game play videos or even touch upon the "Pauper EDH" format.

I made a similar deck a couple years ago. Super fun
This is a great deck! How would you update it with new cards? (Posted as of Ikoria)
Thank you for talking about the standard problems. Isn't standard supposed to be the most accessible format for new players? It's really hard to try and pull friends into it right now
It's been a while since you did a top 5 cards for Pauper.
What do you think of Lost Legion in this deck? gives double devotion and scry 2 in a 2/3 creature for 3 mana
Pauper is the only format where Oko isn't a problem.
I'm relatively new to the pauper format as an edh player outta curiosity I built an abzan pestilence deck and I removed the recommended black thorns because I know I'm going against elves and used that slot for another fog/removal effect any ideas on if this was the right thing to do
