- Humans are the outsiders in a world populated by demons, cyclopes, and other fascinating monsters. The human race, quick to rage, engaged in a conflict that nearly killed them out. The few remaining people are seen as a delicacy, with no purpose other than to be hunted down and consumed.
Golem, a traveling defender of nature, comes across a lone human youngster while patrolling one day. He takes the girl, Somali, under his wing after being inspired by her zeal. The two set off on a trip to find Somali's parents and bring her home.

wanted to read the manga, but apparently the author health is at risk and hasn't continued the manga since 2019.
good news now is that the authors health has improved and wants to continue the manga once she at 100%

The Creator said he wants to start it back up again, however that type of serialization requires a lot of resources that he doesn't have available to him. But if he gets a lot of support he will be able to start the series back up

@@silentservant_ Very often Mangakas and artists work very long hours and are sleep deprived. But because of how dedicated many of them are, they fail to take proper care of themselves and end up becoming sick. It's quite sad, however with the strict deadlines many publishers have they don't have much of a choice to do so or risk getting their series cancelled
Wonderful retelling of the series in a synopsis format. At seeing the thumbnail I was hit with as I call it, the 'Ugly Yet Satisfying Crying' for all the emotions this series stirred up. Kudos!

My headcannon is that golems are essentially ancient weapons created for the sole purpose of protection.

Probably varies, some golems might have been made for destruction, especially during the war, while others remained at villages to defend them

I cried my eyes out after I finished the anime. I understood from the comments that the writer is sick. I wish them good health and hopefully, they feel better to continue this and live their life fully. Such a good series!

Dont think she was abandoned… we first meet her with a collar/chain around her neck, then we find out that all the humans were either slaughtered, or taken as slaves. She likely broke free and escaped the slave owner
When I read the manga it was so good the bound between those two were to strong from the beginning 8.9/10 anime

My best friend and I watched this together almost a year ago. We absolutely loved this one! It had us laughing, crying, all the works. It hit all those emotions just right, and it made us grow attached to the characters very quickly.

I don't think there's going to be a season 2. At least not anytime soon. The anime is still almost caught up to the manga because the writer is still waiting for her health to improve. Excited for when we get more of the manga though!

This anime is one of my favorites. I didn’t expect that there was a recap video. It’s nice to watch this after finally finishing the entire anime. It’s also a bit sad.

I remember reading the manga and watching this anime... I wished they continued it cuz I wanted to know what happen to them next if there was ever a second season.
the mangaka unfortunately got sick and had to put the series on hold, but recently recovered is is planning on continuing the story when she regains her strength.
