- Chise Hatori, was auctioned off for five million pounds to a tall masked male. She was willing to give herself to any bidder if it meant having a place to call home after being abandoned at an early age and mocked by her peers for her unorthodox behavior. She hears whispers from robed men along her road, discussing and moaning that such a buyer got his hands on a rare "Sleigh Beggy." She is in chains and on her way to an unknown fate.

I love this story. Chise was a depressed person whose life had left her eyes, in exchange for clearing the debt of her failed suicide attempt she sold herself in the auction hoping for a quick death. Elias reignited the fire in her eyes and her spirit. Elias did so by teaching Chise about spirits and their regrets. The two saved each other. It culminates with Chise becoming attune to a phoenix.
Plus it has a happy ending as of writing this comment so don’t hesitate to watch if other people see this.

1. She sold herself after seriously considering "giving flying a try", as she herself put it later. If I remember correctly, she was convinced to give her life in service to someone else if she does not feel like living for yourself. Think of it what you want.
2. Half the money is hers: she got 2.5 million pounds sterling (slightly under 3.5 million dollars) out of the deal. Not bad, but the series only mentions this once I believe and does not really touch on this subject later.
Always find that logic weird. She gets huge amount of money for selling yourself but you couldn't use it since she's a slave herself. The only way she will be able to get it is if she is freed by her master. Couldn't the master just use the money himself by writing a check in her name since he is a legal guardian/ master. Obviously she got a good master but 99% of the time that would not be the case. Special at that amount of money involved.
Make sense if you don't value your life. That could have been me maybe a decade ago. When you believe you shouldn't exist you then often exist to be a tool. Because if you're a tool then you're useful and if you're useful, you're not a burden, And then you might be OK to exist.
My top favorite Its so beautiful how this girl steps over each of her milestones with her dear ones is just so inspiring

why is it that in the anime there is always a person that stops the MC to go out of control and express their anger or frustration. It is so infuriating!! When i watch an anime and immerse myself in the story i always have the same emotion as the MC so it would always leave me emotionally hanging when shit like this happen.
The main point is perhaps to “remember what you are supposed to protect”. Those who kill out of anger, pleasure, and so on often find a habit of doing so. This is especially problematic when innocent people get caught in the middle. Just look at the Bishop of Greed from Re:Zero, or Hajime from Arifureta (before he met the vampire). Pragmatism shouldn’t come at the cost of morality, but I do also believe the world is cruel and those responsible get what they deserve, only if again. It doesn’t come at the cost of innocent people getting caught in the middle. Hajime from Arifureta wouldn’t have hesitated to get anyone (even at others expense) if he had not met the people he did.
Those who care for you would never wish to see you go down such a path, especially for their sake. Hence why she stopped him. Along with why it is fairly common in anime, “Don’t lose your humanity”.
Personally Arifureta does quite well balancing morality and justice, but I don’t disagree with how other anime stop the character before they do anything. So long if it isn’t like THAT PRINCE in “SO I WAS REINCARNATED AS A SPIDER, SO WHAT?” Those people I wish to slap silly.

I have a friend who's dauhgter (8yo) was allegedly raped by his uncle, the child said it so to his father. But due to some fcked up loophole in our criminal justice system here in our country, there isn't enough reason to give punishment to the uncle. The father cant even do anything, he can't even do anything to the uncle who was a cousin of his wife, because they are not allowed to face each other.
The child was still recovering from trauma and the father was on the verge of mental collapse. He was so sad about his daughter on top of that he felt guilty for some reason, he was also extremely fuming with anger when he thought about the uncle. It was depressing just talking to him.

What I am trying to point out is the risk of seeking YOUR OWN FORM of JUSTICE. Especially considering that in blind rage, it can be indiscriminate. Such as to those associated with the one responsible, even if they are innocent. Bastards should be punished, I stated this already in that point. But there are limits to what is done, because often people would use that as a pretext to justify further action until that in turn sparks retaliatory action from someone on the other side.

Then in retaliation, knowing you can’t touch the one responsible you target someone close to that man instead. Is that justice? That is the danger I am trying to highlight. Because in the end, retaliation often fuels retaliation. Causing a vicious cycle. People in blind rage, or any other intense emotions often blur the line of rationality to justify their actions.

I watched it last winter, and it really drew me in. The next season is supposed to come out in April 2023! I can't wait! 🥲 This series'totally gets my weird fantasy of being with some other worldly entity, and I'm here for it.👐👀👻

Then she completely forgets that she was bought and owned and then she acts like a complete bitch to her autistic master and is the most selfish character ever I literally loved her at the beginning of the series but as the series goes on she gets confident and she gets rambunctious and does some very selfish things that really infuriate me because she literally volunteers gives her life up for sale to be a slave and she's lucky that she's bought by him but she sure acts like he didn't spend $5 million pounds on her and she acts all prideful just because some stupid dragon told her that she was free And I hate it And I wish one of the other people butter because she would have been put in her place Yes I'm evil Yes but that was what I thought this show was about and it's not I thought it was going to be like the arch demon has trouble loving his wife or whatever that new one is but it's not It is beautiful serious honestly and there are times where I'm just loving it but she is my most loving loving it but she is my most loving it but she is probably the character I both love and despise at the same time
