The imperfection, scratches, and wear are beautiful and are part of the house’s history. I love what you said at the end about wanting to respect the history of the house. I live in a historic 1883 farmhouse and we try to do the same thing. I can’t wait to see your journey with your amazing new home!
Wow, that's so exciting! I love old houses, I'm glad you plan on keeping some of those gorgeous original fixtures :) I think the sun porch off the bedroom would be my favorite - imagine waking up in the morning and having coffee (or tea) in there with all your plants 😍
Congratulations! Welcome to the “this old house” club!😉. I own a 1920 brick four square farmhouse. Your layout is similar, even down to the laundry chute from the second floor bathroom, however ours is completely blocked due to an addition which brought out laundry up to the main level. It’s so nice to see how excited you’re are about the “original” bones, I hate it when people try to modernize everything. BTW….that fridge!? I could never spend the money, but that thing is sweet🤣🥰
thank you so much shawna! oh my gosh your home sounds so special :) yes, i agree - the white/gray everything trend kills me 😪 and yeah... this fridge is completely unnecessary lol
OH MY GLOB 🤩😍😍😍 Amazing !!!! That house is HUGE! I'm a bit dissapointed that you didn't show the garden, hopefully that'll be in another video! Also, that sun-room is perfect as a plant-room! Where you'll be able to propegate and start seed grow 😊
Congratulations on your new home I can see the love you have for it and know that you will love the way it needs to be loved it will be great when you finish. CONGRATULATIONS ONCE AGAIN. Have a wonderful week and weekend
Congratulations 🥂🍾..God bless your new beautiful house soon to be a beautiful Home..enjoy that journey…so happy for you so many details..beautiful ones ..🙏🙏🙏🙏👌👌👌👌👌
Congratulations on your new house!!! I love the character that old houses have. Ooooohhh, the windows in the kitchen are awesome! Oh yeah, the basement really does have great light. That makes a huge difference between a creepy and not-so-creepy basement. Our first house was built in 1930, and that basement freaked me out, unless someone was down there with me. At the time, I only had a toddler and then a newborn, and our laundry was in the basement, so I would take them down there with me when I did laundry, so I wasn't freaked out. LOL It was all painted, including the floor, and an area of it was carpeted, so I just put a bunch of toys down there for them to play with while I did laundry, and it worked out. Love the story about the mine workers. Very cool. I love the iron banister on the stairs. The main bathroom is really nice. We had a laundry chute like that from our bathroom to the basement in that same house that I was talking about! Such a fun feature. My oldest son liked to throw toys down it sometimes too. LOL That's a huge closet! I'm surprised to see that big of a closet in a house that old! We had super tiny closets. The sleeping porch is super cool! Your new home looks amazing, and I can't wait to see what you do to it and what it looks like when it's filled with your things! Congratulations again! Such an exciting time!!!
thank you! but, i never want anyone to feel jealous... i hate the thought of me contributing to icky comparison feelings. do you have any suggestions for videos i could make or questions i could answer to help with that?
