We have had load shedding for 17 years. It took the ANC 16 years to allow renewable energy! What a disgrace! Citizens have had to out of their own budget pay for solar systems on there houses in order to keep houses and businesses functioning!

Rise Mzansi is extremely suspect . Any voter who votes for them will be voting for the ANC . Do not believe what their leader says, look at the reaction of his two supporters who gave great applause to the ANC and seemed to only be gunning for the DA. Why? Huge immaturity and vindictiveness was shown by them. The Anc representative was as incompetent as his party is . The other parties came over as genuine supporters of the South African people . Came here from the chaotic SABC news bloem energy debate. Im 80 seconds in. Hoping to have good debate so I am informed when I vote.
I watched the Langa debate about crime in SA. From what I can tell, all of the SABC debates were atrocious. The participants and audience didn't seem to understand the purpose, the moderation was terrible with no respect for time, and the production quality was really terrible. Our national broadcasting corporation should do better. It's ridiculous that we have to rely on private organisations like News24 to host quality dialogue between electoral candidates

The ANC representative made a completely false statement, which he did not correct. He stated that there are over 800,000 (EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND) informal settlements in the Western Cape! How on earth could there be 800,000 informal settlements in the Western Cape? There are 7.5 million people living in the Western Cape. This would imply that every single person lives in an informal settlement and that there are less than 10 people living in each informal settlement! I am surprised that nobody picked up on this!

Thank you news 24 for this broadcast, so enlightening to hear from the parties in question, the ANC was as weak as we know them to be, it was a delight and pleasure listening to the IFP, ActionSA and Rise umzanzi, the DA leader was weak and this is where it's very evident of his lack of education and knowledge, Its clear the DA's strengths are reliant on fear mongering and what the ANC does wrong, and while I understand to some extent that's the role of the opposition but you need to be able to stand strongly as a party with your policies, ideas and views, you need to have a good understanding of our constitution and democracy this is not a play ground where you are fighting for a toy!

The ANC only ever highlights the shortcomings in the Western Cape but never discuss what goes on in municipalities run by them. Have you seen the state of the Eastern Cape? Some residents of ANC-run municipalities must deal with road and water infrastructure repairs themselves because there's no money available due to corruption. In the western cape our service work. People in INFORMAL SETTLEMENT may disagree but they loge in informal settlement. And they do get services even though they migrate the wc to get aware from their poor functioning ANC run municipalities. Do the math. Also the ANC advocate for undereducating people. Why? So people can't thinking for themselves. That's what you get when you can "pass" math at 30%, proving that you didn't understand 70% of it. And then there's the gift that they've given us of loadshedding for 16 YEARS! WAKE UP MZANZI. loadshedding has only been suspended to manipulate voters. It will come back. Loadshedding pending.....

DA time to get on the front foot about land justice. DA should be advocates for a radical programme to transfer title deeds and accelerate restitution. Expanded home ownership creates a platform for economic growth, visible land justice is essential to legitimacy of the democratic project.
I do agree with your point 100%, but I also think that as we ask all alternatives to ANC, what will they do about land, we must also ask ANC, what have they done about land for the past 30 years?

They get basic services like water etc. I have friends there and have been there. DA spends 74% on their budget on the poor. These things take time.
