Maybe since getting money for Art won't be much of a challenge, there could be the added challenge of finding "the one" for him? Going on lots of dates through Cupids corner? :D
ig use more purple on the inside and use landscaping to add purple color on the outside. so that it does not lose the industrial vibe. its hard to find industrial items that can be purple. maybe use contrasting colors (black+light purple) or (light wood/white + dark purple) to make it more industrial yet a little modern. hope this helps! ☺️
Thank you for saying how to setup Tiny Town with the roommate system!! I want to start this challenge and with all the bugs Deli and James had with the For Rent system, I wanted to set it up with the roommate system but was nervous I would screw it up.
Thanks for the explanation of moving people in an out. Ive been wanting to try this challenge but i never quite got that part. Your explanation was very clear so Thank you!
Maybe the purple outside could come from tags, or the garage door from city living (I believe there's one you can paint on, though the swatches can be quite random). Maybe with flowers too. It's a personal opinion, but some of the abstracts painting in the Sims look good in industrial building, but it's not really minimalistic. Maybe the illustrative ones available on the drawing tablet too (which is also more practical to paint by reference on the go)
Industrial buildings usually have a Tribeca brick, I think that would suit 😊 It would also be amazing to bring some metal and brick inside the house and have his furniture and lights be purple, because it's almost like he's moved into an established warehouse and is making it his own
I’m really loving this series. It has goals but is more laid back and fun than rags to riches challenges (which I also love haha) But yeah if you’re not loving the rock on the exterior, you could frame out some areas with a light wood siding to match the porches/decks. That’s a modern industrial trend. Also, just to add, since it’s winter and he’s outside a lot, could you give him a coat? I know it doesn’t matter as long as it’s his cold weather outfit but something warmer would be nice. Although I totally see him as one of those guys who run around in shorts in the snow!
i really love the idea for the town hall that every townie adds something that is based upon their career into the center. like the gallery for art and imogen, and maybe in the entrance a little space for hyacinth's flower arrangements, etc. just to add a little memory lane :)
OMG THANK YOU FOR THE ROOMMATE TUTORIAL!!! I’ve never used it in my game before. The residential rental thing has been a pain, so my tiny town has been in one household and it makes it a little too easy to get money. Def gonna do this with my game
girl, yes! painting is like notoriously the easiest way to make money in The Sims 4 lol Art is that dude, haha. also, he should definitely pursue an enemies-to-lovers thing with that guy Ali; I ship it! 😉
You mentioned that Industrial style tended to use a lot of bricks and I saw a purple brick option for outside! I think you should try the purple brick. It seems like a really cute way to incorporate his favorite color into the theme of the house.
Kelsey thank you for showing how to do tiny town without For Rent!! 3:40 Haven’t purchased it cause of all the bugs, so the walkthrough was SUPER helpful!!
Tip: 💚 For anybody else wants to do a tiny town, but it actually wants to use the residential rentals without it bugging out. I really recommend building your final structures, including roofing and windows from the very beginning, but just keeping tally of everything that you spent to build each home, then your Sims could just have a running debt and that will stop the issue of having game corruption because the issue is when you’re doing build mode stuff as you’re playing with residential rentals and I find that this way you don’t have issues. You could even add cracks on the walls and make it like a fixer upper for each too. You can have it empty or just add a bunch of trash in it with the goal of furnishing it to make it look nice. Personally for me roommates always leave after like three days and I bet someone else has this issue too so here’s another alternative to doing it her way.
You could also do two different exterior colors/sidings. Industrial and modern design uses different colors and siding a lot! That could be how you add more purple, too!
Ngl it makes sense for art to not have much purple in his house, he doesn’t like too much anything 😂 but definitely try to make a few key pieces purple!
Art gives me the pop art painting type of vibes since his main color is purple! Also, I’ve been shipping him and Imogene! Maybe a besties to lovers trope?! Just a suggestion - loving the Tiny Town challenge 💖
Thank you for explaining how you are doing this with the Roommate system! I've been wanting to try this challenge but I don't want to buy For Rent just for it because I'd never use it for anything else due to all the bugs. But now I can try the challenge!! YAY!
I downloaded your sims to play tiny town and my random spin had me start with Art. I'm having Art paint from reference the various other tiny towners to put in the community building.
I absolutely love the outside of his house! The color of the wallpaper on the inside looks almost like skin, so not loving that. I definitely think you could make more out of Art's story than just his career to push it for more episodes!
My main sim family is an artist and a professional athlete. I mention this because I've made their skill area a half artist studio, half gym, so they work on their skills and work goals while chatting. Brings up their fun, social and relationships all at the same time. Art might match well with someone like that!
You can create duplicates of paintings you want to keep and also sell. Make sure you get the trait from the rewards store that increases your likelihood of making masterpieces
Industrial means brick walls mixed with black and wood, so please give him some proper brick😂. This is not the not so berry challenge, he can just have some accent of purple in his furniture around the house 😅❤
with all that natural light, Art is clearly a morning person, not possible to sleep in with all that light. With your great building skills and Art making money so quickly it is easy to Trust The Process
I just noticed an unrealistic thing about this game - its 8:45pm in game. 8:45pm during the winter season. Its a world that has a snowy winter. Its 8:45pm, on a snowy winter day and the sun is STILL OUT! it doesnt get dark at 5pm in a snowy winter world? what magical place is this and how do I get to there?? #CriesInCanadian
The art piece of the fruit with hands might be based on an actual surrealist art piece called The Son of Man painted by Renè Magritte. I feel like I can totally see Art as a surrealist painter, realism painter, or pop art. Something fun and colorful like him! I’d title the masterpiece painting, “Serenity in the Snow.”
For the exterior if you're not feeling your current choice, vertical wood siding might look cool? I've seen a few industrial builds on the gallery with that.
Thankyou for adding the roommate system. Besides the bugs with 4 rent, I was annoyed that when James did the tiny town challenge the plants in the gardens died because no one tended them. I don’t have to watch the gardens die. I can’t spell character names
That pink wall inside kind of looks like insulation to me. Does anyone else see it? The colour and then the fact that it's sectioned makes it look like the drywall was torn off to expose the pink insulation underneath lol
You could use the tablet for sketching :) I think painting is faster this way. And you can copy paintings to keep the image but sell the original. What about a basement for the money vault?
thank you so much for showing how you made your characters into roommates!! i'm definitely going to try this challenge for myself 💛💛 also, art's house looks really cool so far!!
100 infant is just on hiatus, and i think not so berry is done??? or at least like, almost done. last i checked Iris (gen 11) was a late teen but idk if i'm a few eps behind or not lol. i miss 100 infant but as someone who's TRIED 100 infant, i understand why she needs a break lol. and tiny town is fun, especially with kelsey's storytelling instincts!
Don’t love the outside wallpaper or the artsy pink inside, feel like the dark mix with the light and then the purple contrast is all clashing. Maybe you could keep it all bright and light wood throughout- still adding the purple where needed, I just don’t see an artsy loft studio house being so dark- more lighting and windows for sure
Thank you, Kelsey, for explaining how you use the roommate system. I want to play this challenge, but I don't have For Rent so I wasn't sure how. The only thing I don't know is if you find love and maybe a baby how can they all be in the next episode? I hope I am making sense. Also, any suggestion on how to play this if one isn't a builder or really understands building? I love the Tiny Town challenge so much.
Love the outside of the house! Just my 2 cents on the walls I like that art studio walls but having it all over makes the house look unfinished? Like maybe if part of it was that and then the other parts a darker purple or a more deep colour to bring the darkishness of the industrial or like a concrete feel maybe ? Just my opinion I love the creativity either way!
I think maybe change the exterior to something more “minimal” and modern so it looks industrial and maybe add purple pops like maybe any exterior lights or outdoor furniture or landscaping
Maybe since getting money for Art won't be much of a challenge, there could be the added challenge of finding "the one" for him? Going on lots of dates through Cupids corner? :D
Good idea 😊❤
He could have a minimalist kitchen downstairs, almost more like a coffee bar, and a bedroom living area upstairs!! 😁
Totally agree with this!
❤
Can the finale of this series be a "I left my Tiny Town Unpaused Overnight!" I would love to see the chaos!
Love this idea
Yes!
ig use more purple on the inside and use landscaping to add purple color on the outside. so that it does not lose the industrial vibe. its hard to find industrial items that can be purple. maybe use contrasting colors (black+light purple) or (light wood/white + dark purple) to make it more industrial yet a little modern. hope this helps! ☺️
There's a purply brick from Realm of Magic that would look good!
I love this tiny town series, I think it’s one of my favorites yet!
Thank you so much! I'm loving the cozy relaxing vibes haha
Thank you for saying how to setup Tiny Town with the roommate system!! I want to start this challenge and with all the bugs Deli and James had with the For Rent system, I wanted to set it up with the roommate system but was nervous I would screw it up.
Or doing it without the for rent package !
I love the idea of an enemy's to lover with that guy for Art!! I mean, he hates him but still comes and buy painting from him? Hmmhmm!
my first thought!!! like, this is fan behaviour, ali! unless you're using it for blackmail, you must want to kiss us
same!!!
Since Imogen doesn’t have a photo of herself maybe Art could paint a portrait of her and add it next to the photos in the gallery.
Thanks for the explanation of moving people in an out. Ive been wanting to try this challenge but i never quite got that part. Your explanation was very clear so Thank you!

It's a personal opinion, but some of the abstracts painting in the Sims look good in industrial building, but it's not really minimalistic. Maybe the illustrative ones available on the drawing tablet too (which is also more practical to paint by reference on the go)
I decided to just do industrial and not minimal because I was too excited about making it artist-y haha
Industrial buildings usually have a Tribeca brick, I think that would suit 😊
It would also be amazing to bring some metal and brick inside the house and have his furniture and lights be purple, because it's almost like he's moved into an established warehouse and is making it his own

I really liked the first exterior you had for the house first
Yeah whatever happening now is not it hahaha
i really love the idea for the town hall that every townie adds something that is based upon their career into the center. like the gallery for art and imogen, and maybe in the entrance a little space for hyacinth's flower arrangements, etc. just to add a little memory lane :)

15:41 the Emma reference took my by surprise but that is EXACTLY my niche, love it!!!!
That tutorial was actually extremely helpful, especially if you're like me and you don't own the For Rent pack!
Obsessed with this series!! You are awesome Kelsey!
girl, yes! painting is like notoriously the easiest way to make money in The Sims 4 lol Art is that dude, haha. also, he should definitely pursue an enemies-to-lovers thing with that guy Ali; I ship it! 😉

ooh i'll have to try this out
That would be really cool!
Ngl it makes sense for art to not have much purple in his house, he doesn’t like too much anything 😂 but definitely try to make a few key pieces purple!
Thank you for showing how we move a person in as a roommate. It made it so much easier yesterday when I played. :)
I did my Tiny Town the exact same way you did with the roommate system, for rent is too risky! Excited to watch Arts journey!
Art gives me the pop art painting type of vibes since his main color is purple! Also, I’ve been shipping him and Imogene! Maybe a besties to lovers trope?! Just a suggestion - loving the Tiny Town challenge 💖
Same
You could get the digital painting tablet thing if you wanted him to paint quicker, and they can be queued up 😊
Thank you for showing us the roommate system and how you use it. That's what I've been doing but it always nice to have a refresher.
the outside brick is giving cottagecore rather than industrial. but i love the windows and building shape!!
Not the Jane Austen’s Emma reference 😂❤ I love it!
I am a Jane Austen girly for sure
Loving this series so far and the characters!!
Thank you for explaining how you are doing this with the Roommate system! I've been wanting to try this challenge but I don't want to buy For Rent just for it because I'd never use it for anything else due to all the bugs. But now I can try the challenge!! YAY!

Agree!!
Art should be a secret millionaire.
My main sim family is an artist and a professional athlete. I mention this because I've made their skill area a half artist studio, half gym, so they work on their skills and work goals while chatting. Brings up their fun, social and relationships all at the same time. Art might match well with someone like that!

Make sure you get the trait from the rewards store that increases your likelihood of making masterpieces
You can! but it's soooo expensive to make the duplicate haha Good tip about the rewards store!
Industrial means brick walls mixed with black and wood, so please give him some proper brick😂. This is not the not so berry challenge, he can just have some accent of purple in his furniture around the house 😅❤
I was so rooting for you to finish his whole house in this one episode! The windows were worth it though! Lol can't wait to see the next episode!
with all that natural light, Art is clearly a morning person, not possible to sleep in with all that light. With your great building skills and Art making money so quickly it is easy to Trust The Process
I’m obsessed with this
Art's house reminds me of mia's home in the princess diaries 🥹
oh my gosh THE DREAM
im so excited for this part of tiny town, loving the house!
Concrete floors or exterior (or both) would feel more industrial, I think. I love this cozy series! It might be my favorite. 🥰
16:41 so real i took one intro to photography class and now i think i'm a genius
The perfect accent for an industrial build would be a wall mural! Art could even get his neighbors to help out
i love the lava rock it's cool also purple because the place needs wayyyyy more purple
I think the Moschino windows match the industrial style a lot more, you should put them at the front of the house!!
That's what I was referencing myself! haha great minds think alike
You should have him paint the gazebo for each season!
Excited to see who is next !!!
BABE GET UP, A NEW NEIGHBOUR INCOMING!
For the exterior if you're not feeling your current choice, vertical wood siding might look cool? I've seen a few industrial builds on the gallery with that.
10:34 lol he’s drawing himself from
his pov 😭😭
I feel like you should incorporate more brick and add some pipes to the wall!! I feel like that’s very industrial vibes
just caught up then saw this! perfect timing!!
Art and Imogen ❤️
Enemy to lover with Ali?😂
Thankyou for adding the roommate system. Besides the bugs with 4 rent, I was annoyed that when James did the tiny town challenge the plants in the gardens died because no one tended them. I don’t have to watch the gardens die. I can’t spell character names
That pink wall inside kind of looks like insulation to me. Does anyone else see it? The colour and then the fact that it's sectioned makes it look like the drywall was torn off to expose the pink insulation underneath lol
I love your builds so much, Kelsey, your aesthetic eye is dynamic & always fun to watch!
That's such a nice compliment! Thank you!
I needed this today
Is there a way I can do this with basegame?! My packs are limited
The beginning helps a lot!
You should definitely get the Marketable trait for Art, it increases the value of paintings up to three times afaik!
You can copy paintings, so the ones you really like you copy and sell the original.
I dont know why but I could totally see Art as a Pop Art guy!
Is she still doing the Berry and infant challenge? I haven't seen those in awhile.
I think she is just taking a break from both currently to focus on these other projects. I know she like to switch it up a bit!
I'm trying out focusing on one challenge at a time! So they're on hiatus for now
Don’t love the outside wallpaper or the artsy pink inside, feel like the dark mix with the light and then the purple contrast is all clashing. Maybe you could keep it all bright and light wood throughout- still adding the purple where needed, I just don’t see an artsy loft studio house being so dark- more lighting and windows for sure
I love this so much!
I think it would be so cute for Art to paint the same area of tiny town for every season ❄️☀️🌷🍂
that was so helpful thank u!!!!!
hi Kelsey i am a new subscriber and I absolutely love play throughs!! keep it up
I love this series so much! Thank you for showing how you did the roommates thing, i want to play my own tiny town as well 😊
Since his last name is landscape, I think he should focus on painting realistic landscapes 😅
10:29 “the art is not arting yet” 😂
I like Art and Imogen as a couple anyone else ?
Meeeee
I think that doing just brick outside would be good but really lean into purple on the inside and with landscaping
$52... gotta start somewhere
I am an artist and this sim makes more than i do on commissions. Where can I become a tiny towner? Lol 😂
Never mind Classic is the perfect 1
The scream I scrupmt when I saw a new episode! 😅
I think maybe change the exterior to something more “minimal” and modern so it looks industrial and maybe add purple pops like maybe any exterior lights or outdoor furniture or landscaping
I like that idea for sure! When I get the courage to re-do the exterior I'll try this!
Put some solar panels on his roof to save money on bills!
For the roommate thing, did you also have to do this with Hyacinth when Art moved in? Or just Imogene?
Because I moved Art into Imogen's household, Hyacinth remained as a roommate and I didn't have to re-do it!
She teased us by putting the wrong man in the thumbnail.
I was bamboozled by the thumbnail so the spin really was a mystery lol
Maybe a brick or wood paneling/stucco combo on the outside?
Can’t you make prints of art? Then you can sell the original and still have the work
omg i love the new intro✨❄☃🎄💖🤍🤍
Girlie pop, Art's house is gorgeous but that exterior wall is not purple XD its literally just dark grey lmaoo
It's labeled as purple by the game haha but I get you, bestie
got chocalte and jacket with socks on in comfy chair to watch this edit i think popart
how does the lot for sale sign work is that from "for rent"?
Is the thumbnail different for everyone else? It's showing Rod, instead of Art. Seeing how its Art's episode
Yeah I was hoping it was Rod next 🥹
Should make a pop of color with a purple door with the exterior plain color
