Sea-Doo Superchargers require a rebuild every 100 hours or 2 years (which ever comes first). This is a full rebuild service for Sea-Doo Superchargers; you purchase this item, remove your supercharger and send to us. We will rebuild it and send it back.
There are 3 primary reasons to rebuild your supercharger:
Prevent bearing failure. The impeller spins are speeds up to 50,000 RPM, and the bearings are rated at 2 years or 100 hours.
Prevent washer failure. As the clutch wears, inducing additional friction and heat to the washers, which can cause a catastrophic failure.
Restore Lost Performance. When the clutch slips, the supercharger isn't able to make full boost, thus robbing your engine of performance.
We use only the latest Genuine Sea-Doo OEM Parts to restore the integrity of your Sea-Doo Supercharger.
This is a rebuild service, meaning we will rebuild your supercharger and send back your supercharger.
We can ship out of the US for the additional cost of shipping.
Turn around time is very quick, usually within 72 hours. If you require faster service, we offer Expedited rebuilds which turn around in about 24 hours. Powder Coating will add an extra week.
Options:
Viton Oil Seal - Only required if you have an upgraded supercharger. Viton Oil Seals can handle the additional heat and prevents oil from leaking into the intake track.
Performance Impeller - We will install any performance impeller at the time of rebuild for no additional charge. Click Here for a list of Sea-Doo Supercharger Impellers.
Powder Coating - If your supercharger's finish is chipping, we offer a durable powder coating option. Keep your supercharger protected from the elements and lasting longer; this service can only be done at the time of a full rebuild, since the supercharger must be disassembled. Just finished installing my rebuilt supercharger from PWC Muscle. They did a great job, fast and efficient with excellent workmanship. I normally would have done this myself but the cost of the rebuild kit and required special tools added up to a savings of only 20 bucks.

I have two 2007 Sea-doo's, original owner bought brand new and have about 225 hours on each unit. I've never had my SC's rebuilt and they still run like new. How is it that I've been able to run them this long with no problems. They've never been in salt water, they are stored in my garage when parked, I live in Southern Texas so not prone to many freezing temps and I'd say I've kept them pretty well maintained. So is the hype to say they need to be rebuilt every 2 years complete overkill?? Before you bash me for pressing my luck, I have decided to upgrade my current SC's now only because I don't want to push my luck anymore. But it still baffles me that my skis run great still and it's been 15 years on my original SC's.

Pierre, without proof that it was rebuilt I would strongly recommend getting it done soon.

Hey, im thinking of buying a 2009 Sea Doo GTX 255. I have read they come with the latest metal washers which are much better than the ceramics that SD shipped ono earlier models. I'm wondering if you have any thoughts about them or this model?

Yes, I have the 2007 RXT, and it had the original ceramic washers - they are only good for about 100 hours, and then they can shatter as ceramic material is hard, but brittle. I rebuilt the supercharger with a kit purchased on Ebay, and it came with all of the parts and special tools to make the job easy. The kit contained the STEEL washers, so grenading shouldn't be a problem, now. My buddy has 2 former rental units from 2005, and with the steel washers, they have over 400 hours apiece with no problems.
The 2009 will contain the metal washers. However, the bearings still are a weak point and over time the washers will lose their hold and start slipping. So no rush on replacing anything ceramic...just stick with the 2 years or 100 hours and you'll be good to go.
