- We recently went for a sticky beak at a Skyhome in Rise, a soaring 29 storey tower in Caydon’s Mason Square precinct. Basically, the really luxe apartments in the top few floors.

A mere stone’s throw from Melbourne’s CBD, Rise enjoys some spectacular views across the city and to the north. On a clear day, you can see all the way from the Dandenongs to Port Phillip Bay. Slow whistles
The views have been maximised with floor to ceiling windows, which also treats the apartments to an abundance of natural light.
While the views were next-level, we got distracted by the detail of the apartment. Engineered timber oak flooring throughout provides a luxury look, longevity and easy maintenance. Block-out blinds offer full privacy and pitch-black sleeping experience, just the way we like it.
As for the layout, three queen size carpeted bedrooms, two glorious bathrooms and a powder room mean no one’s going to be fighting for bathroom time. And while we’re on bathrooms, they’ve been finished to perfection - porcelain tiles in neutral tones throughout, and the master has a double shower and a bath that is, in the words of Lucy Glade-Wright, “stupid big. You could fit a family of four in here.”

To me the most impressive aspect of this video is the camera work. Its one continuous shot without the camera man getting himself reflected in any of the mirrors, flowing flawlessly from space to space.
I love the ultra-low ceilings....very cave like...nothing scream "luxury" like floor to low ceiling views!

this apartment has nice finishes, but the one true luxury component is space, which is lacking in some parts like the bathroom and bar area.
Less clutter is the best, I love the decor

This apartment has one of the best views around and yet the living room has the seating facing the wall so go figure...
Yes I found that weird especially as the sofa is facing a wall. There wasn't even a TV on the wall so why sit with your back to that beautiful view, doesn't make sense at all?
Soft close drawers are like AC nowadays. We expect them in new builds or renovated properties.

Linear floor plate, with corridors.
A lot of details and fixtures are not user friendly.

How long does it take to fill that tub? How do you keep it warm while you’re filling it? Taking a bath would take some planning. After you run your 5K, you come home, turn it on, wait an hour for your lukewarm bath? Is there a separate heating element? Can you surf in it? I only ask.
Off to check if you can surf in it... haha
If you want something quick, take the shower. That bath is awesome.

Remove 20% of the furniture to clear space.
Add 25% more color to give it life, rather than making it picture perfect for an architectural magazine.

Hi! I don't speak English. What does "Hunting fot George" mean?
Hi! Lucy used to have an online retail business before becoming a presenter/host. The business sold items online, the one thing you would be searching for was creatively translated as 'hunting for George'.
Her business did very well and it was a brave move of Lucy to stop and create something new such as presenting home tours. She is a very talented woman with a sparkly personality and the man behind the camera is her now husband Jonno.
I hope this helps, not sure if there's more to the story.

Unimpressed to be honest.
The living area seating faces a blank wall with a picture propped up against it and an A/C unit to stare at, (not even a TV screen), while you sit with your back to the most spectacular views. Duh! Who the heck thought that was a good idea? They should have designed the seating along that blank wall facing the spectacular views and could have fitted a TV screen on the wall where the big pink picture hangs, thereby giving views over Melbourne whenever you were sitting down and relaxing.
Also as Lucy said "the bath was stupid big". No way could you have a hot bath and as it is so big you could run the risk of slipping down so far you could drown in it. Totally stupid and impractical IMO.
The bar area is a good use of an awkward space but is too tight to be practical, as only one person can stand in it at a time due to it being so narrow, so once again it is not really a practical space as guests would have to wait at the end for you to pass them out a drink.
The whole apartment is more style over substance. The views wow you, but if you stop and actually look at living there, there are too many annoying things to justify the exorbitant price tag. Great for corporate enteraining, not not for a family to actually live in comfortably.
Also it looked like there were cheap roller blinds on every window. For that price I would have expected electronic integrated blinds.

Come one. I want some COLOR. Do the lower ceiling in the kitchen and the pillars a dark color.
Paint is an easy fix… and changes everything. Put your own touch on it.

I don’t get it. why would you have this incredible view and not using it for the best moments? sofa facing the wall, no natural lights in any of the bathrooms? but so many sleeping areas (mostly eyes closed -:) with the best views. somebody needs to explain it to me. I simply don’t get it.

Not impressed, long and narrow and who puts a couch facing a wall in a penthouse. I've been apartment hunting overseas and Malaysia has the best high end apartment designs.
I'm sorry but these videos seem like they're much more about the presenter's personality than the actual homes. Judging by the proportion of likes and dislikes, this is not a popular opinion.
I also wonder how much the building management company paid you to do this ostensible "documentary," which is obviously just a blatant advertisement. Shouldn't there be a disclaimer? Shouldn't you worry about your integrity and reputation?
