Don’t know about US but this was released in theatre’s in Australia but only in areas where there is a high Indian population. Of course there wasn’t any promo here. Honestly the theatre experience makes the movie 100x more fun especially the music and scoring. Though I wish I was able to watch it with a larger audience like in Kerala cause the hype would have been amazing. There was hype here too, with people cheering during Fahad’s entrance, fight scenes, laughter but not as fun as in Kerala. The subtitles were done really well too so I brought my non-Malayalee friends to watch it.
The fact that this movie is arguably not even in the top 10 malayalam movies just shows the quality of mollywood Also malayalam is pronounced Ma-La-Yaa-Lam

If someone is going to watch Bramayagum, here are some points to understand the depth. You will love the movie after with international audience too. 1) Brahma is the creator of the universe and had 3 sons. With all the power they chose not to have kids. From the sadness of Brahma and from his tear, evils came to the universe. This include Goblins, Vampires etc 2) There was one evil guy who conquered all realms including all the Evil entities. He also got a boon from Brahma to never get killed in a battle. So Vishnu, the maintainer of the universe, comes in a shape of a Boar, Or Varaha, while the evil guy go hunting, get killed by the animal. So Varaha has control of all evil entities. So anyone who worship Varaha may gift an evil entity for your good with conditons. This worship is Atharva. 3) Kerala in 17-18th century were into Atharva, of that Koduman Potti is said to be the famous and said to have entities in possession. Now enjoy the movie!
