What's the Doug's score of this car?
Is under the VW Beetle
Maybe it's negative because it's sucks for it's costs
I believe above the McLaren F1...
@@mm-vs1zt nah..

Pretty insane for a car thats more than 80 years old.
I touched one. It was in Saratoga NY at the museum, the tour guide turned his back for just a second and I reached out and touched it. I'm sure the security cameras caught it but no one rushed out to tackle me. I bet it happened a lot. I'll never forget that moment. It's such a work of art!
Bugatti La Voiture Noire brought me here
Me too.
How was the drive?
Lol me too
We brothers man
Hahahaha Me too
This incredible body shape was made by hammer , rollers , incredible talent by 1936 fabricators......imagine that.
Hennessy actually yes but brought back by artisans in VT. The guy who polished the firewall and valve cover is a friend of mine.
I woke up in an old Bugatti!
lol thats what i was thinking
no skrrrt
Hahaa chemical said exactly what I was thinking. Good on you pal. 🎮
Jeez Lieberman, at 2:02 Look at the man who is talking to you. This isn't about you.
200hp in 1932? WOW!
Yes no bad for a 3.3 liter engine:
175hp for the natural aspirated, 200HP for the supercharged in the Atlantic, 220 HP for the Le Mans 1939 engine...(in that times, all races cars was road capable and the most go to races on the road, not on trucks)
1935 Duesenberg SSJ 400 HP just sold $20,000,000 that's right 400 HP
@@danconlan64 Yep, still the best American car brand
@@danconlan64 ya but it's also a massive 6.9L
There was a Type 57 with 470 hp
The world’s most expensive car was reviewed by the world’s most boring car reviewer.
Doug should have done a "thorough" review and give it a doug score.
@@yashvintackoory2893 With it's quirks and features.
This car is no longer the most expensive car... The 1967 Ferrari 250 GTO is...
The video is from 2010
Sas ig what’s the Point?
This car has twin over head cams and supercharge. If this doesn't tell you enough about what the makers were striving for in 1936 then your viewing the wrong page. You don't get a Farrai250 gto if you don't have cars like this to set the standard.
Personally, I think that car is more beautiful than modern Bugatti's, but that's all subjective.
MUSTASCH1O agreed
Me too it's got an addictive classic look it was a beast of it's time
1963 Ferrari 250 GTO..
1 of 33 or 34 private sale Approximately $67,000,000.00
Ronald Novigrod The Bugatti would be 100 million today
One sold for $70,000,000.00
100 Million Kuwaïti Dinar maybe....
The Bugatti 57sc is one of three
250 GTO just sold for $ 34 mill. So yes the Bugatti is more expensive and more rare
I already have one. It looks great standing next to my Adder and Zentorno.
😆 😆 😆
😂
Lol
must be the missing one of four!
9 yr old vide trending lol.
The production quality on this is simply incredible for a 2010 yt video
Showcases the pinnacle of auto aesthetic of the time. A masterpiece that's meant to be driven and not collect dust.
oh man, it's from 1936. and it has 200 HP, RESPECT!
The best looking Bugatti of all time
i'd love to see this car racing a ferrari 250 gto
most expensive race in the world
+Bernardo Santos You wouldn't race these two against each other. You'd take them for a cruise through the Swiss Alps on a lovely day, because that's what they're for.
+Johannes LaCroix (TheLegitaMate) no. these are racecars. these are cars MADE to race.
Bernardo Santos sigh. These cars are expensive. Yes, they were racing cars, but they aren't anymore. The Type 57 Aerolithe is a work of art & beauty from Ettore Bugatti's artistic hand and his son Jean. The 250 GTO was a work of art & beauty from the Belgian racing drivers in the 1960s. They are works of art, not racers...anymore.
+Johannes LaCroix (TheLegitaMate) a car that was made to race when it was first conceived, will always be intended to go fast.
if ettore and enzo were alive today, they would agree with me. want art that doesn't go fast? get a painting, not a Bugatti or a Ferrari.
Bernardo Santos Fair enough.
Bugatti La Voiture Noire had me come back a second time.
There is nothing like classic, fine art.
I am replying to an 6 year old comment, noice.

I've been fortunate enough to see this car 2x, and hear it run on one of those occasions. It is stunning!
There are actually four in existence, a black model was owned by the designer and was stolen in transport via train during the war and has not been seen since the car was loaded onto the train.
Legend has it its been buried with tons of gold
Probably stored in some grassy plains with plants growing through it or something
Quebec Patriot That’s what I like to think far more interesting than the reality that it’s just sitting in some private collection
Don Jon it went missing in WWII
TheDiamondLord8 Yeah and I guarantee it ended up in some billionaires private collection
The kind of art I can appreciate.
Love this car. So unconventional in it's looks, yet so beautiful.
This car is the first T-57 S Atlantic. It belonged for years to the Bugatti factory, and was driven by lots of Bugatti personnel - but especially Jean Bugatti. He designed the body and regarded it as his best design.
It differs from the other Atlantics in having horizontal chrome strips along the mesh grills on the bonnet sides (like the Aérolithe) and having rear wheel spats.
If I were if the fantastical position of being able to choose any Bugatti Atlantic, I would choose this one on appearance, and on history.
I saw a 57sc atlantic drive by my house when i was taking a walk.
A tear dropped from my eye from seeing my dream car in reality.
That was good luck, wish it would happen to me.
William Charles Schneider what color was it?
no offense but that likely wasnt the 57sc. there are only 3 of them in the world and none of them are really being driven
Absolutely beautiful , such a masterpiece .
The Z type
Talbot Lago at that time was also such gorgeous.
Along with some of the Delahaye's , in my opinion were the most beautiful cars ever built.
It may also be a likely contender for WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL CAR too...
Z-Type from GTA V.
Why does every one say that
I understand it is based off it but who gives a shit just stop
Connor Nielsen I find it hilarious that you are replying negatively to everyone saying that. I was gonna comment GTA as well but forget it. We understand this car was the inspiration for the GTA V Z-Type dude. We just wanted to acknowledge it to those that give a shit. If you don't give a shit then carry on.
Kyle Coyne fuck off

Nobody, whatsoever, or, whomsoever, created a car, after a human body car, like he did it! Amen to that! Period! Its the most beautiful car I`ve ever seen in my lifetime!
Most beautiful car ❤️ever produced
Wasn‘t there a dupe glitch where you could duplicate those, as many times you want?
That is a Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, it has a four-speed manual gearbox and is powered by an eight-cylinder in-line engine with 3,257 cc and a power of 210 CV. It is capable of reaching a top speed of 210 km/h Approximately, its production was limited to 4 units of which 3 were manufactured in 1936 and one in 1938, one of them called "La Voiture Noire" would be sent in 1940 from Molsheim to Bordeaux in an attempt to protect it from the outbreak of the second war worldwide, on board a train that never reached its destination, so it remains missing and it is not known if it was destroyed or not.
ferrari 250 gto cost 50 M so this bugatti is world second expensive car
Agreed
100 M was reportedly offered for Ralph Lauren's Atlantic. He refused to sell.
70 million in 2018
Actually third the second is the GT40 that won the 1969 le mans that sold for 40 mill
Guglielmo venturi yeah frankly I would take the 250 GTO or even better, the Mk40 over this. It’s a beautiful car don’t get me wrong, but it’s not really my style
You can't see the rivets when the camera moves; you have to hold the camera stationary in order to allow the viewer to see the rivets.
Im just hear to say the most expensive car is the Ferrari 250 GTO 1963. 50M
David Valencia I believe price is how much someone is gonna pay for it not individual value of something
excellent, more classics please !
If I had the money to buy it, I would hire a group of engineers to take it apart piece by piece, replicate each piece, put it back together, and then build me another.
@youjustgotowendbyme $57M and THE refers to #12 off the line in 1906. This is the car that did the Scottish reliability trials of 1907 and, immediately afterwards, another 15,000-mile (24,000 km) test which included driving between London and Glasgow 27 times.
I've seen this thing in real life, it's a sight to behold.
Bro that's a cool Z type, where'd you get it
@jhugo1986 well last i heard, it was insured for 40-50 million. and i think it's stored in a hyperbolic chamber. it even has the original tires.
Elegant for me varies with the car, ex; 30s hot rod , it has to be clean and built with precision. But with a 60s muscle car it has to be clean and powerful, with no flashy paint jobs. I can see why people value these cars so high, but its mainly for the name "Bugatti". Lincoln and Cord made extremely beautiful aluminum cars with excellent lines in the 30s, but those have low value due to their names.
Here's a harder question for you how many stainless steel cars were made in the 30s?
I wouldn't call it the first supercar - Duesenberg SJ's were easily exceeding this bug's top speed several years before the Atlantic came along.
although there are three 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic's in existence I believe that the 1927 Bugatti Type 35 is a harder car to find original, although there were about 290 of them made there were many that suffered form accidents, because it was in fact a Grand Prix race car.
@timmykarimi I read the positive camber was to reduce from end grip and prevent the lairy oversteer of cars from this period
as soon as i saw this magnificant machine, it brought a tear to my eye, and when i heard its roar i balled my eyes out, just the most amazing thing ive ever seen
xexun0010 might wanna get that checked out buddy...
you just dont know beauty when you see it
Lol hearing a car start up doesn't make me bawl.... I know that I believe that this is one of the most beautiful cars in the world, but then again beauty is a subjective observation of the world around you.... Shouldn't make you cry like crazy though. Its supposed so bring upon you a feeling of awe...
you good bro
Art on wheels. Those days are gone. Exotic metals? Forget it.
Just think, we'll have all these wonderful bobbles and toys in the afterlife!
I don't care for the hype about Bugatti but I'm sure it's because of cars like this we have the supe cars of today. This was a car that took people faster than they had ever been before. Most of us could relate to that.
This car is freaking awesome what are you talking about
Forte Maurizio The company is French, period.
Yes I do xD
Fucking ugly as shit!
Sorry to be pedantic but the most expensive car in the world is the Mercedes-Benz 300SLR from 1955, which sold for €135 million, or $203 million, about 5 times the Bugatti price. I'd still love either of them though!
When Bugatti was really Bugatti.
Bugatti hasn't existed since 1939...
@@paulcaswell2813 The brand defuncted in 1963. Now Bugatti are just overpriced VW.
Must feel pretty bad to be stupid.
bugatti started in 1900 with the type 2
yes now bugatti is shiy
dat positive camber though
I saw a black Bugatti Veyron last week that shit was crazy
Best looking car in history
Man, I'd love to find the fourth one!
You're lucky if you find it 🤣
@@ziyadsubahi9875 Imagine buying some crappy old barn, and there it is...
@ObamaTookMyDer Bugatti Veyron is around 1.2-1.4 million dollars. You can buy 23 Veyrons for a price of 57SC Atlantic.
1.2 * 23 = ~30 Million
@badjer1785 no it's not. leaving a car to sit still and collect dust actually ruins it more than it would if it were being driven.
z type now i know why they want 10 mil for her in gta
thebestkid27 worth every penny 👌🏻 although I think it’s cheaper in multiplayer??
That one guy Yes in multiplayer it costs 950 grand.
But its like Chad Mulligan says 3 mil, Legendary Motorsport says 10 mil, online says 950. WHATS GOING ON WITH THE Z TYPE
Z type
Mad manzz yep
Yeeeep
Come on now MotorTrend...You guys shold hire me as a researcher. You should know the original Rolls Royce "Silver Ghost" ( Chasis no. 60551, #12 off the 40/50 prod. line) sold back to RR/BMW for $35M a in 2005. Today it is valued at and insured for $57M.
This, is the 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, the world's most expensive car...
I like the fact that people and the guy talking say 1 of 3 when it should be 1 of 4 cuz who ever has the missing 1 knows the longer it sits in his barn hidden the more money its worth and more than any of the other 3
Why didn't you show more driving footage with that sweet strait 8?! I can read the damn specs elsewhere but I can't hear that unusual engine often.
I think it's awesome. It's a work of art made by hand, not robots.
You can not say it's just a car as you can't say Monalisa is just a painting. ( Unless you are a complete ignorant of course)
It as easily worth the five hour drive from Bishop, to Oxnard, to alk into a room full of Bugattis ..... ; I can't wait to go back :)
I remember this car in 'Godfather: The game'. It was awesome.
@TrollingForYou Did you even watch the video. They said for the cost of the Type 57 you could get 23 Veyrons. I don't actully want 23 Veyrons, but If I had the option I'd take the 23 Veyrons over that.
Such a joy of design it is.
Nice Z-TYPE :)
I might be stupid, but i didn‘t know they had Superchargers back then.
Everyone commenting on the Ferrari that sold for more needs to take 3 seconds and realize that this video is from 2010
Yes some people dont understand time and dates Now the Ferrari up to 70 million But the Type 57 will beat them all once one goes on the auction block
@transamrodo11 he said 30 to 40 mil...he was being approximate because he didnt know the exact price
The Lamborghini Miura was the first super car and the most expensive car was the Ferrari 250 (GTO or GT California, I forget)
well don't forget the Aston martin dbr1 apparently a owner is willing to sell it for an absolute minimum of 20 million pounds and is expecting about 35 million at an auction... I don't know if the owner still has that offer valid but damn and Im sure this legend will hit about that much too if not more. Im beginning to wonder how much will they sell for in about 50 more years !!! looks like dreamers will never live it :( unlesss... hey i just won the lotteries XD
250 GTO:
Am I a joke to you?
I believe this was restored by Scott Sargent of Bradford VT
The Truffade Z type is real?! That’s dope
Motor Trend dude could have made a small fashion effort, standing next to such art
@icewytevo Raulph Lauren ownes one and one is in france or was in france but i heard something that Lauren bought that one too. Jay Leno actually had one of the 13 Erik Koux(who is the only person who had access when Raulph Loren's car was in restoration and he pictured every little detail on the car inside out and every part of the car) replicas of which few of them have the original bugatti57 engine in it thats just awesome to have even the replica which is based on original Bugatti parts!
now thats one beautiful automobile.
I was tempted to do the same with a Royale, but there were sort of motion detectors or samething and I chikened out. It was in Cité de l'automobile
Ferrari 250 GTO: am I a joke to you?
piece of art..
+General Grievous its a piece of over price crap is what it is pal
Sss
what ever you say pal
The first 1907 Rolls-Royce silver ghost is valued at $200 million. Sorry Motor Trend!
It's kept in a vault and very rarely sees the light of day.
1911 Fiat Blitzen Benz
This car was first car ever made to reach 140 mph and in 1911 this speed was considered to be astronomical.
It had 28.3 L ( 1726 cu in ) straight-4 engine, pumping around 300 HP, average fuel economy was 120 L / 100
You cant just say your own opinion like it's a fact
It is a fact
"Elegant" for you probably means a pimped out car with flames painted on the sides.
You also fail to understand that very rare collectables actually are a long term investment too since they only go up in value.
Then there's the technology. How many other aluminum bodied cars were there back then?
Yeah sure, but what sort of gas mileage does it get? And are airbags standard?
I don't like cars that can't/shouldn't be driven. Jay Leno has it right with that one. All cars are meant to be flogged with rapid gear shifts, not sit in museums and have their own trust fund essentially.
For that kind of money you could build several new ones on the original plans... and have in effect the several of the same thing in a lot better condition.
i liked the car when it was filmed in black and white :P
11 years later, this car is now worth $100M+
@Lanoxot The fact that there is only 3 in the world and considered the first built supercar ever... right there puts a huge price tag on it already just by that alone, then you throw the prestigious Bugatti name. It seems to all add up correctly and in my opinion, though i will never be able to afford one nor will i buy one, seems reasonably priced. Imagine if there was only 1. The price would probably climb to 100 mil easily.
The Duesenberg was the first super car ever produced.
So exactly how much is it? 30 40 million dollars isn't a number, and 10 million is a pretty big difference.
so much positive camber on front wheels
spelled editor wrong in description
Um, so how much is it? It sounded like he said "Thirty Forty Million Dollars", so was it 30, or 40?
