That is an awesome way to use solid modeling to make it easier to create 3D sketches. Don't forget to use Delete Body after you use the geometry so it does not impact the mass properties or show up in the cut list.

For the 2nd question I make a solid body by simple extrude with draft inward by 10°, then used convert entities to create the 3d sketch.
