- So what makes bamboo the perfect alternative for building with lumber? Not only is it as strong as mild steel with the unique ability to bend instead of break during hurricanes or earthquakes, but it's one of the fastest growing plants around. Learn more about bamboo and how it sequesters CO2 here.

I agree with you, kababayan. When I've saved up enough, I'll have my own bamboo house. For now I'm keeping busy growing them and maintaining a live-bamboo fence/screen around my house.
Bamboo and Hemp made homes are the best Eco-Friendly alternative to regular housing I have seen yet!
Great intro to the concept
I love bamboo! I so wanna live in those houses when I grow up! Nice videos guys!

Subscribed..great information.
woow, this is sooooo interesting, kindly advice me with regards to the disadvantages about bamboo house like fire catching.... how resistant is it towards fire? and other disadvantages
That house is gorgeous!!! I want one! What's the approx cost to have one built?
I want to build a bamboo house in my native Barbados. I've always wanted an eco-friendly home made out of bamboo using solar and wind for electricity! It's my dream to build a bamboo house out in the country.

GREAT ALTERNATIVE & SAVES OUR PRECIOUS TREES !!!!!!!!!!!!
Very Good! Gabriele, Bohol
hey I like to lean how to build Bamboo Homes so can you kindly teach me
nice .............
Can it withstand hurricanes?
i wanted to know how much your models cost went to the web page and it doesn't say
kindly make and upload step by step construction of house
@taleeni it probably might , but i know that it can stand up of the forces of a earthquake .
this is a good home ideas.
BAMBOO is great but you need to design it properly and maintain it. Major challenges in tropical places are pest, vertical design ( because people cant afford land), durable enough to face certain earthquake 7.5 and stormy rain, and Burglary!
I am planning to build a house in the vicinity of Pototan, Iloilo, and I am very much interested to have a floor plan of this house. Can you help me how to realize this plan? thank you in advance
cool
Yes I would have to agree bamboo is wonderful and I am about ready to learn techniques in art of building with a new materials to my hands. I have owned both a mature 2-acre forest and a small sawmill. Having years of experience and very selective sending, 80% of that Forest is still standing. To compare the acreage numbers you use is absolutely subjective or incorrect. I built a mini home about 500 square feet, and used about four trees. From the northwest of the states, now in Cambodia bamboo is a wonder and a gift

Pine trees mature in 3 to 5 years and they replant 3 for every one they harvest.
No, they grow 3ft per year max. Only bamboo will do that. Black and honey locust will regrow that fast if the root system in established.
But what about fire safety?
Subhanallah!What a creator?!!so strong a grass?
Which Creator?! 😅😂🤣
That wood to bamboo acreage stat is not accurate.
1 acre of pine will probably build a 2000 square foot home .
they address all these issues if you would only no speak before you view.
I would think cost is the factor with bamboo. Sure, everyone would love an eco-friendly home, but they simply can't afford it. Look at the steps required to create a single board. All of those steps take time and as with anything, time cost money. Stone is the best alternative simply became if you own land, you own stone.
You don't need to create a board to use bamboo in construction. Good you see the roof trusses in the video? You can also use other techniques using bamboo with clay/sand plaster to build walls.
More people are using bamboo as building materials

How can you say that it requires 12 acres of forest to build a 1000 square ft house? Lol. I have 7.5 acres and built my house with the equivalent of 3-4 trees
Easier to bulldoze and replace with a REAL 5,000 square foot mansion, White walls or ELSE
WISH I COULD HAVE HEARD WHAT THEY SAID. STOP WITH THE MUSIC.
WHY THE MUSIC. LOUD DISTRACTING.
KINDLY PLEASE DO NOT PLAY MUSIC WHILE TALKS.

This is a superficial video that doesn't actually provide any research evidence for the statements made, such as "it's stronger than wood" Besides, there are several measures of strength. Which is it stronger than? tensile strength or another type of strength?
I know it's obvious that bamboo grows and is mature faster. In my experience, the faster a product grows, the weaker it is. That's true of woods. For instance, the fastest growing woods are always the weakest, such as pine, which doesn't take 20 years to mature, as the video states. Only the hardest woods, such as oak and maple, take 20 years to mature, and even then, there are varieties that don't take much more than 10 years.
If you look at poplars and cottonwoods, you can have a very mature tree in 10 or 12 years, however, the wood is not worth building with because it's soft.
This video is a propaganda video for the green movement.
I love bamboo and would love to have a home largely built with it. I do think it does bend rather than break, however so does wood. Steel, however, will bend, but that bending causes stress fractures after a short time. To see that, just bend a small steel wire. Unless it's piano wire, which has been strengthened by stretching it, which aligns the molecules up, making it elastic and strong, the steel will bend, then break quickly. Piano wire and other stretched steels will also eventually break due to the stress being put on it. That's true of all building materials. The more the material bends, however, the more the things around it are damaged, such as concrete foundations, etc.
Sorry to be so cynical, however without cynics like me, nobody in business will be held accountable, thus forced by an informed public, to be honest.
Do your research before just buying anything said in any video. Don't just drink the Kool-Aid for what you already believe. Stretch your own beliefs until you arrive at the truth.
Thank you Sir for your concise explanation... And that’s the problem in this day and age, people fall for the Kool-Aid and don’t want to know the truth. It’s all about feeling good... The TRUTH shall set you FREE
Did you know they build house out of bamboo almost 6 storey house in Bali , Indonesia? Interesting video from TED Talks. Btw they really did research before claiming what they said in the video ua-cam.com/video/kK_UjBmHqQw/v-deo.html
Bamboo homes in the Philippines are great. They are practical and affordable. I will start with one myself. BUT GET OFF THE BULL SHIT ECO-FRIENDLY CRAP!!!
