House of the Dragon: S1 EP7 Recap & Analysis | Funerals, Knife Fights, and Laenor’s Great Escape

Welcome back to “Keeping Up With The Targaryens!” Today’s episode was full of drama, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. The family comes together for a funeral to honor Lady Laena, but don’t worry, we caught all those loaded looks too! As Rhaenyra and Daemon finally come together (as more than family), little Aemond makes a bold move for Vhagar - which costs him an eye. A knife fight ensues as Alicent begs for revenge on behalf of her son, but Viserys being Viserys, simply commands everyone to just get along! The episode ends with Laenor’s great escape - which we hope, brings him the freedom he’s always wanted.
