Happy Anniversary Keen, thank you for a glorious game and a new scenario! I'm not usually much for DLC, but I'd buy a scenario pack or a campaign without blinking.
Compound Blocks were removed from Medieval Engineers because it was too taxing on the system. Space Engineers is already a resource-intensive game, probably more than Medieval Engineers, and as such is probably impractical to add compound blocks to.
And, in my opinion, the base game is still so good that these additions aren't necessary. No new functionality was added through these blocks that someone running Spotify in the background couldn't achieve. If you wish to get the game at its fullest, then you'll need to pay the Devs a whole $45 AUD, which for 6 years of a game that originally cost a quarter of the price for a game of similar quality made by a AAA company, is absolutely justified. Just my opinion.
Awesome. I'm so glad your putting so much energy in making this game/sim more immersive. You have my support. And can't wait to see what else Keen SH has in stock for more survival shenanigans:) Happy birthday to you Space Engineers 6 today
WOOOOOOO!!!!! This is awesome All the bug fixes. New blocks 2ity new decorative packs. Honestly not all that hyped for the last one. But that is just me. Woooo!! Keep it up Keen. I have just over 1100 hours in this game. I got it just after planets came out and loved the concept but the game itself just wasn't there yet. Then in 2016 I got a computer that could actually run it decently. Now I have an AM4 CPU and more then enough ram and it runs like a BEAST! The base versatility of this game is epic and the nodding community makes it all the better. Seeing long standing mods being incorporated into the base game is awesome. Imagine what could be done if the Dev Team hired from the modding community. I mean it's obvious there is true passion in the modding community. Passion for what you do is the key to success. Success doesn't always mean getting rich. Just food for thought. :D
Happy birthday to my first Steam game ever. No matter what direction you take with your game, I'll be here with you until the end. Let's explore the unknown together, my friends. Happy birthday from Artemis!

Again and again, thx for this great game, spent already 2k hours, and will spend more ! So sad the multiplayer is limited, when you made a infinite game possibility, but doesn't matter ! Also this DLC looks great, so just take my money, you deserve it ! Happy birthday and thx you dev team ! And just to finish, showers, toilets, kitchens, beds... would you give us a basic needs update somedays ? (food/drink/fatigue)
some things like railings i dont belive should be a paid item on this one, but you cant argue with that price! keep it up guys! space engineer for lyfe!!
And what has changed for the better? Maybe a game interface? - no. Maybe there are significantly more new blocks (without mods)? - no. Maybe multiplayer has become better, there is a server for Linux systems? - no. Maybe they added new resources and ways to recycle and use them? - also no. ...
For those complaining about paid DLC: You dont only pay for the content, you are supporting them. Space engineers is a continually worked on game thats been worked on for over 6 years. That requires a LOT of money no matter if they want it to be non profit or if they actually want to earn money. So, either they find a way to make revenue, or they stop working on the game and move on to make something else. I am all for the first option! I would hate to see this game being dropped and forgotten. Keen is not some huge multi billion dollar AAA game studio that can afford to throw all their money down the drain by making free content forever. They need revenue to stay afloat. Another problem is that if they decided to make a bigger expansion with for example new engines, armor blocks, or weapons, and sold that, they would probably burn themselves to the ground due to it becoming pay to win, as the new features would add functionality locked behind a paywall. It is not an easy situation. but currently they have a good way forward: Release the new game changing stuff as free updates, and then release decorative packs and skins as a way to support them! That way you generate revenue AND please the players. In my opinion they should alter their model slightly and make bigger packs. instead of making for example two decorative packs for 3$, they should have combined them into a $6 one. feels easier to digest.
My POS program has taken me over a year to complete and it is very simple(only around 50,000 lines of code) compared to this game and it cost me all of my saving and some loans to keep going till I was able to sign up some customers. Many times I had to refactor a bunch of code and that is time down the drain, but there is no way around it, it's part of development. So I understand why the game has taken a few years to get to where it is. Plus, I have enjoyed many many hours having fun in SE. It has been worth much more than what I paid! (Especially compared to other rubbish games out there) Additionally I am excited to see some functional blocks in the future. So I will be sure to buy the DLC to do my part in helping you guys out. Considering you guys have supported this game for a long time and I remember when connectors looked like shit and wheels didn't work. It sure has come a long way. WELL DONE! The guys that hate on you for latency and shit like that. I dare them to try and fix it in a week, as it is no simple feat. I am enjoying the new scenario. I have built a nice bush crawler, time to find me some ore! :D Shout out to whoever designed the scenario! Awesome!
Ok so like a lot of people, I have a problem with that small seat being DLC only. The industrial cockpit was ok because it LOOKS nice but we already had 2 other cockpits (fighter and regular). We already has 2 large grid flight seats. But small grid, unpressurized seats? The closest we have is a passenger seat. Again, the jukebox is a better looking soundblock, the new stairs and studd are just better looking versions of the grated windows. clear LCD’s are nee ish but... I can let that slide. Just... Please. We have planets. We have cars. We have rovers. If you won’t add the seat in, at least make a less-decorative version of it and add it for free.
Honestly I'm not too mad about all the DLCS Only $4, which is less than an hour's worth of work for a minimum wage job to not only enjoy a decent chunk of new stuff but to also support the continued development of Space Engineers? Don't mind at all.
Love this game, great stuff! Side note: The freight boxes: (a) are the same volume as a large cargo container on a small ship, despite appearing much smaller, (b) are the same volume, regardless of whether they are the 1, 2, or 3 box stack, and (c) won't let me put anything in them. I'm guessing (c) is just a temporary glitch. Thanks!
Suddenly, paying 50€ for a game which gets regularly and freely updated throughout the years doesn't seem a bad idea at all. I find hard spending so much money on a game but seeing where the trend is going lately for AAA games, we should start appreciating more subtle things like game updates.
I love after the years of free content given to them, people are whining about paying for a cosmetic pack to fund the company that brought this amazing game.
It's not about price, its what is being sold. There are so many ways to earn extra money from a game... Blocks are the heart and soul of this game... And out of all things, that is what is being sold.
For example: skins Skins have been in the game for a while now, purchasable with real money, and generally people don't seem to mind. However, most of these skins give KSW 1 cent per transaction. They should have sold these directly to the players, netting them 70% from all skin sales. Not just player character skins, but also the block skins. They could have sold story packs, special animations, lcd icon packs. Physical merch could be an option as well, from shirts to concept art books/downloads. Or sell 3d printed ship models for those who don't want to go through the hassle of finding a 3d print shop themselves. (KSW is pretty much just down the road from one of the largest 3d print manufacturers) Recruit a friend, release the game on other stores, etc etc, optional subscriptions could also be an option. Hell, a lot of the dlc has enough value to be sold without blocks. So many options... But they went with blocks :/
Please keep these coming! Im about to buy the Deco 2 stuff for myself and buddies. And i will every time, so long as you keep pushing quality content out. Btw, AI companions. Please. I want a crew we can manage, even in Single Player.
"UPDATE: On Wednesday, October 30th. 2019 we removed the Small Control Seat from Decorative Pack II to the base version of the game; it is now available for free to all players."
I like the update despite the fact that yesterday I finaly set up an intensely modded Server which is for the crapper now. I wonder how many mods get abandoned this time. The DLC man idk... why is that small grid control in there? Huh? Man fuck it... ok i buy it... but only so you can get the good shit going that we all want namely an easy way to create our own server spawnships/drop pods, small grid windows, energy shields, more slopeblock/armor ramp variations, hover engines, wings, propellers, more character and ship weapons, more planets with different enemies, conveyor hinges only to name a few.
I always think Keensoftware has set a standard for updates it won’t be able to keep up. And I am always wrong 😂😂. I swear they just keep outdoing themselves, and I am fine with this stuff being dlc because honestly, with the amount of interaction they have with their community and how much effort they put in to make a great game the best it can be; they deserve every damn cent I can give them
Dude... How are they supposed to keep the Office Running without any money? They're a business and tbey deliver DLC's to such a low price. As soon as I saw the DLC was live I pulled my Debit out like a hungry dog. They do not even restrict you. Have a friend wirh the DLC? Let him place the block. You're Welcome. For real, though.. Just buy it if you have the cash, they deserve it. And as a bonus we, as the communnity, can actually keep the game alive :-)
Jeah, it seems like a fucking joke! I don´t know why everybody seems so excited... i´m slowly getting really mad at them, just continue nearly exclusively making paid content nowadays while veteran players who originally even paid a higher price for the game than what it now costs are just being shit upon.
@@N.M.E. maybe because not everyone is full of spite and getting mad at cosmetic dlcs like they just added half the game behind a paywall and act as if they released multiple dlc half the price of the base game while having abysmal content or actual features taken from the base game. Wow, I think this is really great, only one suggestion, I think the small grid control seat should be vanilla, I think some people might be mad about that one. Happy 6th anniversary! ;)
Happy Anniversary Keen, thank you for a glorious game and a new scenario!
I'm not usually much for DLC, but I'd buy a scenario pack or a campaign without blinking.
All DLCs together now cost more than I paid for this game at the first place. And yet you still haven't added compound blocks. I'm disappointed.
what are compound blocks?
@@fraznofire2508 the ability to put more then one "block" into a grid unit. Example, a small light and a control panel.
Compound Blocks were removed from Medieval Engineers because it was too taxing on the system. Space Engineers is already a resource-intensive game, probably more than Medieval Engineers, and as such is probably impractical to add compound blocks to.
@@maxlagalle7730 yes but what are they?
And, in my opinion, the base game is still so good that these additions aren't necessary. No new functionality was added through these blocks that someone running Spotify in the background couldn't achieve. If you wish to get the game at its fullest, then you'll need to pay the Devs a whole $45 AUD, which for 6 years of a game that originally cost a quarter of the price for a game of similar quality made by a AAA company, is absolutely justified. Just my opinion.
Awesome. I'm so glad your putting so much energy in making this game/sim more immersive.
You have my support. And can't wait to see what else Keen SH has in stock for more survival shenanigans:)
Happy birthday to you Space Engineers 6 today
Awesome, congratz on the anniversary!
Funny how this comes out, when I finally buy it, and have followed the game for like 4 years.
"Science the **** out of everything!" 10/10
YESSSSSSSSS, WE NEED MOAR!!!
Happy 6th! For many, MANY more!
WOOOOOOO!!!!! This is awesome
All the bug fixes. :D
The small grid flight seat killed it
Congrats on 6 years Keen! Can’t wait for the following years!
OMG so many things. I wasn't waiting for this !
Thanks !
Happy birthday to my first Steam game ever. No matter what direction you take with your game, I'll be here with you until the end. Let's explore the unknown together, my friends.
Happy birthday from Artemis!
Wouldn't the transparent screen be OLED instead of LCD though?
love the new designs! :) would be great if the medical station could work as a "reskin" for the medical room and can be used for respawns and healing!
Congrats on the anniversary I can’t believe it’s been that long the game has come really far and I love it, 2.89 for pack 2 giving all those blocks and helping you to further support the game? Hell yeah love all the new blocks and functions and please keep adding official scenarios they are really fun! Keep up the hard work KSH :)
This game is simply amazing and the team has done a huge progress in advancing it. Well done!
gonna be a point where more dlc block out there than in the game
Again and again, thx for this great game, spent already 2k hours, and will spend more ! So sad the multiplayer is limited, when you made a infinite game possibility, but doesn't matter ! Also this DLC looks great, so just take my money, you deserve it ! Happy birthday and thx you dev team !
And just to finish, showers, toilets, kitchens, beds... would you give us a basic needs update somedays ? (food/drink/fatigue)
All i can do is cry at these glorious things..
Keen can still knock things out of the park when they want to.
Happy 6th to Space Engineers!
some things like railings i dont belive should be a paid item on this one, but you cant argue with that price! keep it up guys! space engineer for lyfe!!
So this 1GB update is mostly for a DLC that I don't even own, great news indeed
Like every other game in the world that have dlc and multiplayer
I juist ordered parts for my gaming pc and i cant wait to play space engineers once again
Nice work Keen! Love the new small grid stuff, but it's all awesome. Keep up the great work.
New dlc: exists*
Me: I'LL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK
This is epic, I'm glad you keep on perfecting this game :)
Totally buying the pack. This game is awesome.
Don't listen to haters, you are doing an absolutely amazing job of developing SE. Big fan from 2013 here !!
And what has changed for the better? Maybe a game interface? - no. Maybe there are significantly more new blocks (without mods)? - no. Maybe multiplayer has become better, there is a server for Linux systems? - no. Maybe they added new resources and ways to recycle and use them? - also no. ...
Will it ever stop?
Not on our watch
Honestly
I'm not too mad about all the DLCS
Only $4, which is less than an hour's worth of work for a minimum wage job to not only enjoy a decent chunk of new stuff but to also support the continued development of Space Engineers?
BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT KEEN COULD HAVE GOTTEN ME
!!!
Gift for like 5 bucks
Not disliking because you guys want to earn money to improve the game (even further)
Just the fact that you chose blocks as a means to do it.
Seriously, yes. Skins I get, but this blocks stuff is just maddening.
It's not about price, its what is being sold.
There are so many ways to earn extra money from a game...
Blocks are the heart and soul of this game...
And out of all things, that is what is being sold.
For example: skins
Skins have been in the game for a while now, purchasable with real money, and generally people don't seem to mind.
(KSW is pretty much just down the road from one of the largest 3d print manufacturers)
Recruit a friend, release the game on other stores, etc etc, optional subscriptions could also be an option.
"Science the ****** out of everything" -space engineers 2019
This game is just so amazing 😍😍😍!! I am so proud to be an owner of this game!!!
I'm not happy to hear the list of paid for blocks is increasing over time
"UPDATE: On Wednesday, October 30th. 2019 we removed the Small Control Seat from Decorative Pack II to the base version of the game; it is now available for free to all players."
Excuse me, I now must build disco ship that plays safety dance 24/7
I like the update despite the fact that yesterday I finaly set up
an intensely modded Server which is for the crapper now.
I wonder how many mods get abandoned this time.
The DLC man idk... why is that small grid control in there? Huh?
Man fuck it... ok i buy it... but only so you can get the good shit going that we all want
namely an easy way to create our own server spawnships/drop pods, small grid windows,
energy shields, more slopeblock/armor ramp variations, hover engines, wings, propellers,
more character and ship weapons, more planets with different enemies, conveyor hinges
only to name a few.
I always think Keensoftware has set a standard for updates it won’t be able to keep up. And I am always wrong 😂😂. I swear they just keep outdoing themselves, and I am fine with this stuff being dlc because honestly, with the amount of interaction they have with their community and how much effort they put in to make a great game the best it can be; they deserve every damn cent I can give them
Still waiting for small grid windows
We share same birthdays! Best wishes!
So the free update is 1 new rusty skin armor and small ladder?
Lost colony scenario.
Damaged armor skin.
Rusty armor skin.
Small grid ladders.
And the long list of fixes.
But sure how dare they release quality purely cosmetic content as dlc for a comparibly cheap price.
AYOO seems like Keen are going down 'that' road
I'm excited for Decorative pack #9
I just have to say thank you.
I love it
I was sold when I saw the freight boxes.
Can't wait for this to come to console
Doubt so
@@andreabasalto its confirmed.
@@bigsoup9341
Oh, cool! You're right, sorry!
ooh, not sure about having the small block control seat as part of the Decorative Pack II, seems like something that's needed in the base game. Did like the quantity of blocks in the pack tho so thats a big thumbs up from me.
they seriously made control seat dlc.
I guess non dlc users will be compensated by seat and ship specific keybindings right?
6 years and we still can't set our pistons, rotors or subgrid engines to push when we press the thrust button on our keyboards.
i think the small grid variants of their big grid counterparts should be free because they are somewhat Gameplay affecting, not just decorative
Oh wow, nice update 👍
You had me at Decorative Pack II
Now we just need a small ship door to air tight it
last year I stop play because it was hard to design and build, now I will try play back
