Yes, and thus my comment 2 above your own. They ought to be funding the US govt by offering products landowners in natural law jurisdiction are willing to labor extra for. Not out of necessity, but out of a desire to enhance the life of those working the land. Corporations have no business on the land of states, with the possible exceptions of grain+fiber production which necessitate heavy machinery. There's nothing wrong with fascism as long as it is confined to US territory. It's a military jurisdiction.
Not what Mussolini meant. You remember at the beginning of the documentary when they said corporations were originally public organizations created to fulfill a particular role? Like managing a bridge, perhaps. Well, in Mussolini’s Fascist Italy “corporations” would be more appropriately compared to medieval guilds. They were public organizations whos purpose was to direct the Italian economy under the control of the State, because like Mussolini said “All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state”. Fascism is the absorption of every aspect of society into the state, it is not capitalistic in nature.
@@konstantinosnikolakakis8125 when monopolies are created, there is little difference between capitalism and fascism. Eg: In America, a handful of corporations own all the media, and they say only what the govt wants them to say. And they promote the worship of govt, and whatever the govt wants the people to believe.
@@chadkline4268 You say "the government" as if it this static entity. What you don't seem to realize is that large corporations and what leftists have defined as "the 1%" have almost entirely taken over governance. What little remains of the government that actually serves the masses such as regulatory frameworks to protect us from corporations externalizing their costs, or the New Deal programs like social security and Medicare, large corporations and the 1% are determined to privatize those as well. Too many people have fallen for exactly what these large corporations and the 1% have wanted the masses to believe since Reaganism and Neoliberalism entered economic policy in the US, is for the people to believe that "government" is just one entity and that it is all bad. They have grifted on that manufactured belief for the last 40 years, and historic inequality is the result.
That's actually a question with a lot of answers actually. I maintain a database of corporate fines & settlements [totals over $2.2 trillion currently,] so I can actually give some insight on this question. This is only going to deal with this answer for the US. Before discussing some specific circumstances that result in money going to specific places depending on the circumstance the safest bet when wondering where money from [x] fine or settlement is going when between some government entity & a company is that it is mostly going into the general fund for whatever level government the fine is issued by or the settlement is with [i.e. a specific state's general fund or the federal government's general fund.] Now, this will usually go through whatever agency/office the fine/settlement is with first & will sometimes have a portion of it sent to a special fund/division/etc... of the agency/office that is used on whatever mission/goal the agency/office supposedly has [enforcement activities, consumer protection/redress, etc...] Then especially when it is with the State level of government a specific amount of the total fine/settlement is reimbursement of the costs involved with the investigation/lawsuit [on the federal level this is also pretty standard with EPA settlements involving pollution/contamination where cleanup is necessary to reimburse for currently accumulated cleanup costs the agency has had & is projected to have going forward.] Now, there are tons of specific types of activities a settlement/fine is for which will have specific different answers to this question. Just as a few examples: When it comes to the CFPB, SEC, & CFTC agencies of the federal government a very large percentage [like the vast majority for the CFPB, probably a majority for the CFTC, & a strong plurality for the SEC,] of enforcement actions will have at least 50% & usually a fair bit more than that of the overall amount that is for restitution to specific individuals or other companies who were the victims of the illegal actions & whose money was lost/stolen/etc... because of it. When it comes to the EPA when if it is something like Clean Air Act or Clean Water Act violations then there will almost always be between 2 & 4 things the money goes toward. There will virtually always be a penalty amount that goes to the government's general fund [but this is also tends to be a very small percentage of the overall total amount.] The 2nd thing that money almost always goes towards is equipment/infrastructure upgrades to address the violations. Things like equipment upgrades/additions to reduce pollution emissions, sewer system upgrades to reduce runoffs/discharges, etc... [this category usually makes up the vast majority of the overall amount of the costs.] Then somewhat regularly, it sort of seems to depend on the presidential administration in office at the time of the settlement, but not as ubiquitous as the first two, there will be "supplemental environmental project(s)" which can be all sorts of sh-t but some type of project for the local community/communities where the violation(s) occurred at which improves the natural environment in the area. Then there are also instances where they will need to pay for compliance monitoring procedures/inspectors for [x] amount of time going forward. A decent proportion of settlements with the DoJ for violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act [when it involves governmental entities at least,] & almost all the settlements related to violations of the "Servicemembers Civil Relief Act" will include restitution for the victims involved in those violations along with a fine. When it comes to "Superfund Sites" in EPA enforcement actions every settlement I've seen with companies is essentially entirely made up of a small percentage for reimbursements to the EPA for cleanup costs of whatever contamination the site has & then the rest for remediation costs of the site to cleanup the contamination. What happens is the EPA will develop a plan of things that have to be done to remediate the site [specific things that have to be built, specific actions that have to be done, etc...] & develop a few options then the settling company/companies can pick which option(s) they will do. Now, obviously they don't personally do these things, so they will be responsible for paying & contracting out the companies/experts who can do those things. Superfund Sites are specially designated places that are highly contaminated from activities by companies & even government agencies themselves in the past & the settlements related to them as well as the resulting work that is done or decided to do all take many years to be finished [usually decades.] Obviously this is just a brief overview of all the answers that would constitute a complete answer to your question. It is also only about what happens in regards to settlements/fines between companies & government entities in the US. But, hopefully it provides a bit more information/understanding of where that money goes.
The main weapon we as citizens have to fight against corporations is our government. But we as citizens must learn how our government works and where we fit into the system. Our government has the potential to be very helpful against powerful corps such as the ones we have today. Don’t forget “we are the government “. Lack of knowledge of our own system has turned us into the victim state. Both the government and corps take advantage of it.
Large corporations and the super wealthy have mostly taken over governance, and have gained nearly unassailable power at this point. Leftists have been screaming about these issues for decades and mostly have been derided by the leadership of both major political parties.
Corporations go through the government because that is where the real power is. Reduce the size and power of government. Matter of fact take away the power of government to create corporations.
If you privatize then you imprison even more. Prison planet is more of a reality. You also have to deal with territories right down to neighborhoods. What have we become? When we can't even trust our own families. It seems we're locked into a system who's only solution is destruction 😮
It's truly depressing looking at number of views of this monumental documentary. This shows how general public is either too ignorant or too disinterested to knowing their "real enemy". This documentary is a great service to humanity, indeed.
This is an old documentary. A lot of people have already seen it. It’s 20 years old and was in theaters when released then dvds etc. so, UA-cam is not an indicator of how many people have seen a thing, especially an older thing that was out in the world before UA-cam existed.
The film was viewed 8.4 MILLION times on the Encore+ UA-cam channel, which unfortunately closed shop November 2022. Which is why we've started this channel! Glad you are a fan of the film!
@@cooldotworld Whenever people make this comment criticizing the masses, please remind them that the whole point of learning about how corporations have gained so much power over our lives, is to also understand how they have dominated the narrative through MSM, think tanks, neoliberal and "conservative" lawmakers, etc. Leftists nodded their heads at most of what was in this film when it initially aired, as it was not news to them (us). Sadly, the fascist Trump and the GOP who have always sided with large corporations have in current times befuddled MAGA with fake populism making them think they are fighting large corporations which can't be further from the truth. Likewise, the neoliberals in the Democratic Party that make up the power structure, that have made up the leadership of the party since Bill Clinton, have done everything in their power to tamp down true populist movements of the left like Occupy Wall Street, and the Bernie Sanders presidential bids. Neoliberal economic types, and Reaganism economic types, and neoconservative economic types have dominated the power in our government since Reagan and then Clinton appeared on the political landscape. The Powell Memo informed Reaganism and comported with the neoliberals like Milton Friedman who largely informed the "third way" neoliberal economics embraced by what would become the power center of the DNC. It has been a 40 year scam by the 1%'s dominance over both major parties, while the culture wars have raged keeping the masses divided. Would FOX or MSNBC air any of the content of this film, or PBS for that matter? Would this content be featured in any major magazine, or newspaper, or talk radio show (still heavily dominated by right wing content) or any other cable or broadcast news network? No. Thus my main point. My two and one half cents.

What happens when everything is controlled by money and you don't have any? Will you work for evil corporations that just plunder as more profits come into the rich for your services
Corporations are not capitalism even though they operate within. So seems like without a stock market there would be no reason to make profit for shareholders…….. and money wouldn’t be the god people are worshipping over the flourishing of human kind and healthy relationships where people worked together for the strength of a community because it was necessary for survival and security. Don’t tell me , I already know I sound like an idiot in today’s landscape. Well aware.
🧞 & YeT........ Bill gates, Bill doors & Bill windows R Bill ion times B tter than the Bee Queen Bee King Bee president Bee prist sss Be happy with What "U" havE. Not All give you (8.billion) Free gift like Master Nikola Tesla 💙
But you could say that already, every relationship the common person has is commercial. It is only about gains and benefit and therefor without these it is a waste of time. Back in the day our grandfathers went do things for free to help the community. These days everybody is waiting for a handout from the government. It is kinda funny because the definition of narcissist and psychopath is getting muddier.
Wow, you really missed the point of the film with your "everybody is waiting for a handout from the government" comment. Say that nonsense to a Swede sometime and watch their reaction, but make sure you tell them that you are from the US. They will probably want to walk the other direction fast. Or say that to someone Canadian, Swiss, Austrian, Norwegian, Finnish, Dutch, German, the list goes on. Ask them if they would trade places with you where you have no guarantee of healthcare, or little hope of finding affordable housing unless you are wealthy. See if they would prefer life in the US to their "socialist" country. It's just amazing how ignorant so many people in the US are as to how power and money work in the US and how badly you have been bamboozled by these large corporations and the 1% to unwittingly support their power to abuse you. 40 years of this "government is bad" mantra started by Reagan and ultimately embraced through economic policy by Democratic leadership as well, has led to historic inequality in the US. Meanwhile, publicly owned "government" utilities are taken over by private corporations who immediately jack up the prices of water, gas, electricity and people like you still don't get it.
Corporations don't always reflect the needs values and ethics of society.Corporations need to follow the rules and regulations that protect all in society and not work outside of the latter. That includes all aspects of the enviroment.
They called them only cartoon apples on real fruits in some buildings. While saying everybody else at the time were overthinking. About ink. Ink which extremely hungry children might not bother to throw out first.
This is exactly what is happening on a slower scale in the U.S.A.. Wages have been oppressed and have not kept up with inflation and if you don’t have people who put money back into the local economy then those corporations leave and take jobs. Shops go vacant, Real Estate stagnates. But people suffer. They go hungry.
For the sole profit of the shareholders? That's really questionable because where is stated? Honestly, where is it? It's just a common belief. Beliefs change.
The game monopoly describes perfect capitalism. Won't use the word corporation? Corporation is a business business structure. If you are filed as a corporation with a Secretary of State, that's what you are. Don't hide. 🐺 🐑 🧥
If you don't understand how the monetary system works and how we got here then no you're not fighting for democracy you're doing exactly what they want
So glad I it's online! I had the DVD nut donated to a grassroots collective and haven't been able to find it online. Thank you!!! Please, if possible activate the subtitles so more people can watch it. And making it available to translate them.
The problem is that productivity increased, as did the profits, as did the greed, without the benefits being shared with the workers and in today's nightmare which is unlimited & unreasonable, malignant, growth. A never-ending drive for more profit at any & all costs only to be hoarded by demon like executives & sharehoarders, starving those that actually give their labor & work for those corporations.

what do you mean "higher dimensional" ... there is nothing positive about the modern Corporation
@@_____Olivia Higher dimensional, as a human is a single organism, a corporation is a grouping or organisms, and thus it's not a single human, but, like the cells which comprise a human body, humans comprise the corporate body

"Fascism should more appropriately be called "CORPORATISM" because it is a merger of state and corporate power." 👈 -Benito Mussollini

Where did all the money go that the "cooperations" paid in fines?
Waiting
Waiting
Waiting for an answer
Still waiting
Back to the corporation, of course.
That's actually a question with a lot of answers actually. I maintain a database of corporate fines & settlements [totals over $2.2 trillion currently,] so I can actually give some insight on this question. This is only going to deal with this answer for the US.
Before discussing some specific circumstances that result in money going to specific places depending on the circumstance the safest bet when wondering where money from [x] fine or settlement is going when between some government entity & a company is that it is mostly going into the general fund for whatever level government the fine is issued by or the settlement is with [i.e. a specific state's general fund or the federal government's general fund.] Now, this will usually go through whatever agency/office the fine/settlement is with first & will sometimes have a portion of it sent to a special fund/division/etc... of the agency/office that is used on whatever mission/goal the agency/office supposedly has [enforcement activities, consumer protection/redress, etc...] Then especially when it is with the State level of government a specific amount of the total fine/settlement is reimbursement of the costs involved with the investigation/lawsuit [on the federal level this is also pretty standard with EPA settlements involving pollution/contamination where cleanup is necessary to reimburse for currently accumulated cleanup costs the agency has had & is projected to have going forward.]
Now, there are tons of specific types of activities a settlement/fine is for which will have specific different answers to this question. Just as a few examples:
When it comes to the CFPB, SEC, & CFTC agencies of the federal government a very large percentage [like the vast majority for the CFPB, probably a majority for the CFTC, & a strong plurality for the SEC,] of enforcement actions will have at least 50% & usually a fair bit more than that of the overall amount that is for restitution to specific individuals or other companies who were the victims of the illegal actions & whose money was lost/stolen/etc... because of it.
Superfund Sites are specially designated places that are highly contaminated from activities by companies & even government agencies themselves in the past & the settlements related to them as well as the resulting work that is done or decided to do all take many years to be finished [usually decades.]
Obviously this is just a brief overview of all the answers that would constitute a complete answer to your question. It is also only about what happens in regards to settlements/fines between companies & government entities in the US. But, hopefully it provides a bit more information/understanding of where that money goes.

A corporation is a legalized entity with the absolute right to commit crime 'legally.'
When you realise that you are an implied corporation 🤯
The problem with Capitalism is thay corporates are forced to make money each year which is unsustainable long term...
Corporate GREED

For other examples see “Enron, the Smartest Guys in the Room”
