COPENHAGEN Crowds & Atmosphere in the city on Coronation Day - Danish Royal Family - King & Queen

Sunday 14th January 2024 was a historic day in Denmark and Copenhagen. It was the Coronation Day of Denmark´s new King, King Frederik X. We (Maxi and Maro) along with thousands and thousands of people from all over Denmark and from around the world were there to experience this historic Royal Event and to film and photograph the atmosphere around the city of Copenhagen where the coronation event took place.

In this video we take you on our walk from Nørreport Station to Kultorvet, down Købmagergade to Storkespringvandet and from there to Højbro Plads. Our intention was to watch the ceremony at Christiansborg Palace but it quickly was obvious to us that we did not have a chance of getting anywhere near Christiansborg, therefore we made our way to Kongenns Nytorv Square. There were also thousands of people there but with a little paciense and manouvering we eventually got a spot where we could photograph the Danish Royal family passing us in the Royal Cars and in the Royal Carriage. We managed to see Queen Margrethe II, our new Danish King Frederik X and Queen Mary. We also saw HRH Princess Benedikte, HRH Princess Isabella, HRH Princess Josephine and got a glimpse of HRH Crown Prince Christian. It was a magical day in the Kingdom of Denmark and we hope that this video will give those of you who were unable to be in Copenhagen, Denmark for the event a feel of the atmosphere that we enjoyed.
Congratulations King Frederik and Queen Mary and thank you Queen Margrethe for your many years of service to the Kingdom of Denmark. We are proud of our King and "Aussie" Australian Queen!
