Thanks for sharing your adventures! I am especially thankful for you broadening my horizons as far a geography is concerned. I'd never have known about BIOT and DG ! Who knew about the salt/ fresh water tables on the island! BZ!
Thanks Maddie always an interesting video when you show us how you operate the ship's systems. A good protocol to always check that the engineers know you are going to start operating systems, no surprises, nobody gets hurt, nobody gets mad, make everyone's day just a little easier. Always looking forward to another episode in your rusty ship saga.
Another great video! Always happy to see something new from you. I really enjoy the way you combine technical details, personal experiences, and outstanding videography. Thanks for taking the time to share with us!
Was that a scaffold set up on the House Front. Boy that things some Deck Apes 🦧with a bunch of chipping hammers & needle guns, sand about a 1000 gls of red primer & white paint. For something that’s been at anchor for so long waiting for a contract they sure as hell didn’t put any effort out for maintenance. 😮😮
Nice video! Did this ship get new cranes? Because the brand TTS was NMF before, and judging by the age of the ship, it should have had NMF cranes from the time it was newly built.
We operate them for own ship movements if needed, but for cargo it's all longshoremen. We don't have the manpower to work cargo and continue normal shipboard ops
Yes they are! It's an oil boom. This is a highly regulated "zero discharge" port, so they put a precautionary boom around us for our entire port stay - in case of any accidents.
Excellent! Very well done. Great tour.
🙌
A talented woman you are Maddie... Love your videos..
🙌
Thanks once again Madeline. You look knackered. Your eyes look like you haven’t slept for days! Keep up the good work
Very true! Take care of yourself!
Haha my eyes just kinda always look like that. All good!
Thanks for the interesting video. Love your content.
Thanks for watching! 🙌
Wow - you weren't kidding about it (the vessel) being on the small side.
Cracking small film.
Such a cool job with so little excitement. 🙂
This is me excited 😂
@@MadeleineWolczko Wow - emotional.
(We love the lack of wetness in the delivery of your content).
Fantastic.

Hell yeeeaa
We hope you got some off hour on DG, it seems to be a wonderful spot if you like "nature".
Lots of time off! I'll post a sailing vid in the shorts section 👌

Absolutely! Thanks John 🙌
Another excellent video episode…thanks! We missed you! Solid pre-brief for a safe & successful cargo handling evolution. Well done 1/M! Carry on.

Really appreciate that feedback. Thank you 🙏
This was a great instructional video, have you considered a land based job teaching at one of the maritime schools?
I would love to step in and teach somewhere at some point, but not full time. I'd have to take quite the paycut with much less time off unfortunately

I think those are the aft container restraints, same shape as in the holds.
@chairrockfarms1337 is correct! They're cell guides welded to the forward part of the house.

Great catch! The cranes were installed in 2017 as part of the agreement when Matson bought her. Keel was laid in 2000.
Also, very cool about NMF becoming TTS. Taught me something new, much appreciated 🙌
@@MadeleineWolczko Thanks for the info, quite special that cranes were installed later. It is more common the other way around. Have a safe voyage!
Huge move your fingers and toes 😮
Hahaa right
Who operates the shipboard cranes Maddie? your crew or Longshoreman?
We operate them for own ship movements if needed, but for cargo it's all longshoremen. We don't have the manpower to work cargo and continue normal shipboard ops
Ms., At 0:37 looking into the water there were some orange floaties (haha) are they for contaminants also you said tropic, where?
Yes they are! It's an oil boom. This is a highly regulated "zero discharge" port, so they put a precautionary boom around us for our entire port stay - in case of any accidents.
And it's Diego Garcia, BIOT
Who operates the crane on the boat? Is that a local longshoreman or one of the boat crew members?
Both, depending on the situation.
You left out who the Grip and Grip Assistant were in the credits of your film. Cameras and lighting don't hold themselves.
🤣🤣 Good call. I'll add their names to the list 🙌🙏
Well, I Googled Earth Diego Garcia, BIOT young Miss your pretty close in the middle of nowhere. Will you be able to go ashore? Ralph
Hahaa yes indeed we are! And we get to go ashore daily. I'll post a little r&r vid in a bit 😄
