Thank you so much 🌱 slowly building my apothecary is so rewarding, I love seeing it evolve, it feels like its own creature and i am simply stewarding it 😍
The trolley is such a great idea. I can see why it brings you joy. I only have a few herbs at the moment. And am yet to make any tinctures etc. I've been drinking nettle tea with my green tea, but I'm finding it hard to get used to certain flavours of others, so your recommendations are very helpful. 🌿🍵
Thank you! Bringing herbs into your everyday life is the best way to start so you are already on a roll! If flavour is an issue on some, fresh fruit brewed up with them can really help add a little sweetness 🌱
This is wonderful. Your joy and enthusiasm is infectious. I actually really love that you include the outtakes because they give a window to your personality, and you seem like such a funny and grounded person. As for working with herbs myself, I am lucky to have a big garden so can grow lots. My favourite though, is the lemon balm which self seeded. Fresh lemon balm tea is one my my greatest pleasures.
@@Mother-Of-Intention thank you so much for those lovely words ❤️ I love adding the outtakes! Lemon balm is lovely, finding simple pleasures every day in nature is one of the greatest joys 😍
I've bn interested in herbs for awhile. Your apothecary is wonderful. This is my first video of yours that I've seen. And yes, Rosalie apothecary is a great shop. 😊🌻
Ahhh! You know what, I just looked up marigold medicinal uses and sure enough, there are many, just like calendula. Live and learn - and I learned something new today thanks to your apothecary! God bless!
I have a cart for my art supplies but I may just have to repurpose it (or buy/make another one 😉) to use for my apothecary. And I love your idea of the revision cards to record your herbs etc, I shall be adding magical properties to my cards too. 🧙♀️
Welcome! and thank you so much for subscribing and joining me on this journey, it really does mean a lot to me. Please let me know what herbs you decide to grow and how they are doing 🌱
I have my own personal apothecary, but it isn’t as neat and put together lol. Mine is in a huge trunk container, and it’s a bit of a hassle to search through to find what I’m looking for. I’ve been wanting to buy a pantry specifically for my apothecary for the longest, but I haven’t gotten it yet. Still on the bucket list. I enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing with us 💕
Wow! i love the sound of a big beautiful trunk, i understand it must be a hassel to find things, but i think id feel like a wizard rooting around for my potions which is pretty cool 🧙♂️ Thank you so much for being here and i hope you get that apothecary of your dreams ✨
Ive just discovered your channel, synchronicity 😊...Thank you, such a lovely introduction... Im about at the same stage as you, I've recently bought the lost book of herbal remedies I'm sure you know it! Like you I dabbled on and off for years, Im 56 years old now 😮.... and after the recent health situation, I decided to get serious and started a diploma of master herbalism with centre of excellence....its very interesting, Im definitely hooked ❤.... Can I ask who you are doing your studies with? I will follow you with much interest...Thank you 😊
That's so amazing! I love synchronization at play 🥰 I haven't heard of that one, I'll definitely look it up. I'm so glad you've found something you really enjoy, it's such an amazing connection to the world around us 💚 I'm doing mine with Heartwood, I'm finishing up the foundation course, which I will post a full overview of in a couple months. I'm so excited for your journey to come 🌱
I do have a home apothecary and isn't it just so much fun to build it up and collect more herbs? I love it! I do have a question: You mention marigold flowers - is that true marigold or "pot marigold" which is otherwise known as calendula? I grow both in my garden but only use the calendula in my apothecary; never have I tried to use the actual true marigold. Thanks for your information and God bless!
Here (south east england) I've always known the medicinal herb as Calendula, and i knew of Pot Marigold as a flower and it was only last year i learnt i was looking at the same plant, but somehow in my head I had seperated the two!! Thank you for your lovely comments! I also love building my apothecary, I now look at a herb and think "i have just the jar for that!" 🤣
@@thewisdomwench7908 since my last comment, I've discovered all the benefits of marigold! I would never have thought to look at it as a medicinal herb, but since your video - I did and now I am drying all my marigolds! LOL
Ah! Why did I never think of putting tinctures in a cafe press before?! Brilliant! Thank you for sharing that. I'm excited to watch more of your videos :) xo, Aurora
You are very welcome Aurora! I honestly hadn't heard of that until last year and its changed my life its so much easier 😂 Thank you so much for being here xxx
omg Rosalie's Spice Shop! She and Monroe were just the best until that last season ... sigh. I'm more the Auntie Grimm-Wesen with the trailer but with herbs & books!
I can't wait for your trailer, you're going to be the wesen healing badass of your dreams 🥰 And I agree the last season was a little of the rails, I'm currently rewatching it all and I'm back at season 2 at the real start of monroe and Rosalie's love story 😍
@@thewisdomwench7908 such a great unfolding of characters. Nick couldn't act his way out of a paper bag (exhibit one: when he gets the unfortunate present), and I liked his wife better as a vet, and that wacky 'relationship' with the other one. I wish they'd gone further with the whole police chief backstory. My favorite was the guy running the underground group who comes back later as a snarky ghost.
I only use them with my dry herbs not my tinctures and oils, don't fret! I've been thrifting a lot of jars which is making getting hold of them cheaper and easier too 🌱
I was already a fan of herb carts - yours & Herbalista's (link below!) - and yours has such a sweet origin story while also accessible and real for folks starting out. I wish I'd seen this forever ago!
Thank you so much! What I was really trying to get across was that anyone can start with any size space and that everyone can make a space that suits their needs ❤️
I prefer grape seed oil over olive because it has a longer shelf life. It is also cheaper. I also use grain alcohol because I can add water and save money. I also have choice of how strong I want it to be.
I have read a little about grapeseed but its not easy to get a hold of where i am, I chose olive oil mainly for its accessability to me. Also, by grain alchohol is that everclear? because i have heard that used in some of the American herbalist videos i like to watch but that is not really a thing in England (any insight would be greatly appreciated!) I definitely will do some more reading into this, thank you! 🌱✨
@@thewisdomwench7908 yes everclear is a brand of grain alcohol. I buy a cheaper brand. It is 95% alcohol (190 proof) so I can add distilled water to choose how strong I want it. I like it because I can make an elderberry decoction (thereby cooking the elderberries) and then make a tincture from it.
Hi there, i am doing the Heartwood foundation course and I really would! If it helps I made a whole video about my foundation course where I go in depth about practicalities, cost and my experience here: ua-cam.com/video/7OESu6iHGGo/v-deo.html If you have more questions pop them under that video and i'll answer the best i can :)
The most common traditional ways to steralise glass is through heat, the ones most common tend to be using an oven or a double boiler (which isn't always the easiest thing to use if you have pets or kids running around or if you are busy and can't watch the heat). Sterilising tablets are a way to steralise using cold water, so in some cases they are extremely useful to me, being able to put cold water in a pot with a sterilising tablet and the jar and leave it is great when im busy and can't watch an oven! But they are chemical based, so i am trying to use them sparingly.
I love how accessible you make becoming an herbalist with your mini apothecary. Continued blessings.
Thank you for your kind comment! Accessibility is something really important to me, I'm glad that is coming across 🌱

Lovely collection. Have you delved much into mushroom medicine? It is amazing!(Before the question comes up, no, I am not speaking of hallucinogens).

For dry herbs I think plastic is fine but I wouldn’t use for long term. I especially would never use plastics for oils or tinctures.
