How-to: Lego Racers 2 Rocket Racer

- Rocket Racer is back once again! This time in his Lego Racers 2 outfit. I liked Lego Racers 2, but not all of it. One of the things that I didn't like is how underwhelming the introduction of Rocket Racer is. I would encourge you to take a look at how the game did it. It's basically a really long conversation in their weird LR2 talk. 😋
I thought that could be improved. So I did my best to make it more interesting and also bring a bit of Rocket Racer's character back, which I think was a bit lost in LR2. I've also included a tutorial on how to build his car, which is slightly different compared to Lego Racers 1. I hope you like the video!

Yeah it's really good! Too bad the races before Rocket Racer are much more exciting.
Xalax tracks got 9 year old me more pumped than they had any right to I swear. And they still do if I’m honest.
He seems to have taken his separation from Veronica pretty well. He doesn't lose his cool seeing that his fiercest rival used his ex-girlfriend's car!
He stays focused. 😋
I was considering to put Veronica in the place of Sparky and create a story that way. But that didn't happen because there would be too much dialogue, I thought.
I will never forgive Lego Racers 2 for not allowing the player to use RR’s car or the xalaxian’s cars.
Right?! I could never understand that either.
Now that I'm thinking about it, it's kinda sad how in Lego Racers 2 Rocket Racer has pretty much the same car as in LR1 except in different livery.
Also how cool it'd be if he really did drive up to you in the game instead of just walking up to you.
I kind of like the fact he remained with the same car and look. Keeps him iconic. I also think people will dislike it if you change anything about it.
Glad you like the changes. I always thought that the introduction to Rocket Racer (the endboss!) was really underwhelming. So i changed it for that reason. Thanks for watching. 😁
I never realised before just how similar RR's car is in the second game. I might have played the second even more than the first, but I never got to Xalax or whatever it was called. Pretty sure I got stuck trying to beat mars. Thanks for making these and sharing them with us!

I was really scared of Riegel’s mech as a child. Took me a while to finish that race. 😜

Man I love this so much. The Lego racers 2 ost will forever be stuck in my head, it’s such a shame you were never actually able to play as rocket racer in-game

Wow, I never knew part 4488 was in blue, let alone in a single helicopter set from Space Port! Now if only I can find a seller domestically with 2 of them instead of just 1...
We're very lucky it is! I just took a look at my real model. You can barely see the blue, only from an extreme angle. So you could get away with using white if that makes it easier.
"Me and my new car are faster than ever" - don't drive over the ramps and you'll beat me easy.
Yeah it's so unfortunate that he is so easy to beat. I remember Sam Sinister to be a lot more difficult.

Just needs the classic lego click sound effect when the bricks are coming together in the build.

Yo, Lego Racers 2 was the game of my childhood. And seeing this vid here really makes me want to make my own RR car.
That said, where do you get the stickers? I know you said they’re third party, but I was wondering do you make them yourself, or is there a place you can go to for custom stickers?
That’s awesome! There is a webshop in the Netherlands that sells these stickers. I forgot the store name but if you Google it, then I’m sure you can find it. 😁

How did you get a base like that? I'm trying to recreate the car but there's no flat base like that in the game.
Ohh you mean within LEGO Racers 2? I don’t think you can make it in the game, but I’m not sure. This video was meant for people who want to build it in real life.

Are you planning on doing more LR2 bosses?
Not yet, Berg has nog vehicle and the only builds that are left are Sam Sinister and Riegel. But they are both official sets, so the tutorial section is bit redundant. I'm not sure a video will add anything. But who knows, maybe in the future.😋

Too bad Rocket Racer is too easy to beat if you make upgrades to your car.
That's why I always play Lego Racers 2 without upgrading my car so there is more challenge
Yeah that's true. How do you get past the other bosses without upgrades? Is that even possible? 😋

The first time I played this game as a kid I couldn't read english, so I never figured out I could upgrade your car and I have beaten the game like that.
