  • Meatballs are a great, versatile food that can be served almost any way you want, as a main dish on its own, on a sandwich, with pasta, on a pizza, the possibilities are endless. This video demonstrates a more Italian style meatball, but the same can be said for meatballs from any culture. Just have fun with it!
    Ingredients:
    1 lb ground beef
    1 lb ground pork
    2/3 cup breadcrumbs
    1/2 cup milk
    1/2 of an onion, diced
    3-4 cloves of garlic minced
    2 eggs
    2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
    1/4 cup chopped parsely
    salt & pepper
    olive oil
    marinara sauce
    Directions:
Combine breadcrumbs and milk in a large bowl and let soak. In the meantime, saute the onion and garlic in some olive oil until the onion is translucent. Put the cooked onion and garlic into the bowl with the breadcrumbs and milk. Add the rest of the ingredients to the bowl (except the olive oil and marinara) and mix together thoroughly. Spread some olive oil on your hands to prevent sticking and form the mixture into balls. Heat some olive oil in a dutch oven. Place the balls in the dutch oven in an even layer and cook until a crust has formed (this can be done in batches). Carefully flip the balls (trying to keep them in one piece) and cook the other side. (If doing batches, remove the balls once a crust has formed on both sides and cook the next batch. Once all batches are done return all meatballs to the pot.) Add in the marinara sauce (enough to mostly cover the balls). Bring to a boil, cover leaving a little space, and bring down to a simmer for 1.5-3 hours. Serve and enjoy!
