Since the 5th of February 2021, a week ago that is, I'm the very happy owner of a corfou white Bis from 1990. It has different wheel covers than the car you show in the video. Just in time, I think, because prices are rising rapidly. I had two 126 Personal 4s in the 90s.
The red Maluch in perfect condition. The best one in the village. Back in the 90s I can only imagine jelous neighbours looking at it from behind the fence. ))
Beautiful place you've got there. So in the end of the 126 life cycle they placed a total different bigger and flatter engine in the back for more luggage space and power, a third door and a different dashboard in the car. Pretty amazing! The 126Bis is the best and most useable 126 but it came late.
Wow, amazing condition and such a nice color. I am generally a fan of much bigger cars but the 126 has something extra, I am seriously thinking about buying one this spring... I bet it's really fun to drive in the city. What kind of MPG are you getting, I've heard 50 for mixed driving.
You'll be pleased to note Paul the Bis is fully restored, no dents, rust or scrapes. I'll post a video to my channel once the weather clears up. Best wishes.
Awesome! Glad she's back to her former glory, she deserves the attention being such a good solid car with low mileage. Happy she's gone to an enthusiast! 👍
@cl3mens Thanks. I have not used the car at all yet, i bought it because it was in good nick and locked it away in the garage! I do plan on using it when the weather improves. It is fun to drive, so basic like a mini. I can imagine 50 MPG would be easy to achieve in such a small car, maybe more.
Hi there...Beautiful Bis! I have two questions. I had a bis 1990 made, with exactly the same engine layout and it was registered for 628cc engine. And yours is 704cc. Second, i couldn't see the choke lever between the front seats. Was it still there :) I loved bis and now driving a 92 Daihatsu...Not the same taste but, lovely car...Uh, also, performs great on snow/ice mix! Thanks for this beautiful baby!
i have the exact same car, same year same age spec colour inside and out, its off the road at the minute and although the exterior is tidy im going to get the interior re done along with carpet cant wait to get it on the road and go to a meet, im in blackpool
Hi thanks. Yes it was a clever little car really, similar to the Mini in many ways, but with a boot and storage in the front too, I guess it was a little more practical. And RWD, so great fun in the snow! Unfortunately, ive just sold this car. Sad to see it go, but I never used it. 800 miles in 3 years, I would rather it go to someone else to love and enjoy!
@sizenevermatters I am no expert on the 126, but i think the BIS was only a 704CC, the other 2 smaller engines were aircooled only. And yes, the choke lever is still there between the seats! I've had a few Daihatsu's too, very good 3 cylinder engines and very reliable
+Paul Hawkins Very true. Many people don't realize it, as they've never traveled outside of the US. My parents took us around the world, during childhood so we could see how others lived. I guess I can see things differently because of that.
+Sarah Dell that's awesome. Yes I've spoken to many Americans who get very offended by others opinions on things, they think that thier way is best and have no interest in how other nations do things. But I'm glad not everyone is like that ;)
Another feature: in this engine the cylinders were mounted flat, not sloping like the engine from the original 126 (I think it was the same setup as the 500 Giardinetta) In Italy we called that engine "Solefish engine" because it was "flatter" than the old 126 engine
@krisjambon I'm 6ft with size 14 shoes! Lol yes you will fit, just. You'll have to fold yourself in though, luckily the steering wheel is small so that helps with leg room. Recline seat so your head doesn't hit roof and take your shoes off or you'll hit all 3 pedals at the same time! Apart from that, its a fun car!
My wife had one of these.Paid £900 for it,secondhand.Had some good mileage out of it ,as a daily driver, and “shopping trolley”.Went to Portugal ,to visit my brother-in-law,and on the first day got a ‘phone call from our eldest son.”I was moving mum’s car to get my motorbike out,and the reverse has gone!”Tried nationwide to locate a secondhand gearbox,to no avail.Ended up paying £550 to repair it! Eventually, traded it in,complete with a blown head gasket,on another Polish Fiat;-a Cinquecento Sporting,in yellow, which we still own to this day.Just had it’s 20+ year old cam belt and water pump replaced,at 33000 miles, from new! Got to love basic engineering.
+Aki Ami Masen I know, I do regret it. But I would regret it more leaving it out in the bad weather and watching it rust more. A Mechanic bought it and stores it in a garage so at least it is protected now.
I can't help but notice the pedal layout, with the accelerator being further over to the right and more towards the seat? What's the deal with this? :o
I really want one! I even got the insurance down to a reasonable amount (I'm 17 so its expensive ¬.¬) The only concern for me is my height...I'm around 6 foot 5 so many cars are a struggle for me. Do you think I could squeeze into one? The interior looks quite roomy considering how small the car is...
Hi Paul, hope you're well....just a heads up! Your old fiat is up for sale on carsandclassics. Seems the guy has done some work on it engine and body work.....he's asking £5999. Just thought I'd let you know.....👍
She's back and restored. Full engine rebuild with almost everything replaced. Full body overhaul back to tip top condition. Sadly the two owners between Paul and myself failed to pay it the same respect. More videos from me coming soon. ua-cam.com/video/LepmaWVQYVM/v-deo.html
Great to see the car being loved again, I only did 800 ish miles in the three years I owned it, but never failed to make me and others who saw it smile! Take care of her please! 😊

Hi Rad, yes I sold her last year for £2500. I was not using her enough, would rather she went to someone that would use her, rather then just sitting gathering dust.

this is one of the best car. no computers: no rage in repair it yourself or repair cost

Ah this is beautiful. I have recently acquired a 1990 126 Bis named Luigi and I love him to bits.
Very cute 126, thanx for posting !
I had a Bis a few years ago, lot of fun driving it everyday !

Very smooth and quiet for a 2-cyl engine.
I've got the same but with the steering wheel on the left hand side :)
Молодцы компоновщики! И движок с радиатором разместили,и багажнику место предусмотрели!
Beautiful little car, just a little gem! And the filming location (your house, maybe?) is just stunning!
Joe Hornberger, thanks, it's my parents place. I do miss that little car!
Such a great car.I would love one...

in poland that was the most popular car in the past, i still can with my closed eyes reckognize it by the sound that this car make.
Looks like a nice example there! :). Got a good price for it though in the end!
I've just acquired a little seicento sporting on a 51 plate looking forward to putting that on the road 🙂
It was the last model of Fiat 126. That engine was fit forward in the former models of polish Fiat 500.

This is super cool! Wish we had these in the States!
Hey thanks, there are one or two imports, they are at serious risk of being squashed by the big trucks though haha
+Paul Hawkins We have way too many trucks! Even most of our cars are massive! It makes no sense to me. Oh well!
Agreed, most things in the US are excessive.
+Paul Hawkins Very true. Many people don't realize it, as they've never traveled outside of the US. My parents took us around the world, during childhood so we could see how others lived. I guess I can see things differently because of that.

That car´s in good shape .
What a charming car to zip around in!!
buy it, slam it, drop a bike engine in it, get some wide wheels then take it to the track :D
Lovely little car. I'm rather jealous.

Cute car, thank you.
Nice car broo
beautiful polish car - maluch :-)
Italian.
@@xyz2121 Fiat 126 BIS Fiat was produced only in Poland and its development was largely the work of Poles
i am so in love with this car. i need to get one. the thing is that i am 19 and from spain and car insurances in the uk for me are so high :(
The engines are like half a lancia engine I believe, maybe u can use a lancia manifold to mount a 40dcnf carb, even change the cam?
Ultimate parking vehicle
Jesus. BIS itself is damn rare. BIS in right hand drive? Oh my god - that's exotic. Wanna' sell it? ;-)
Ha I already did a few years ago now, although kind of wish I hadn't now.
Amazing !
i love the engine of them also when i was there were loads of fso polonez and fiat 125p made in poland first they where polski fiat 125p then FSO 125P
That's a beauty!!
@krisjambon Wicked, cheers mate, will try them :)
shes a cute little thing i saw one go down my street few year ago kangerooing and ever since then ive loved them
ha I love small quirky cars, they're great fun
+Paul Hawkins i had a citroen ax as my first car
@RedRoosterRoad No idea, there are no motorways around here! I also have a Fiat 500 Abarth that does 130 MPH!
I had one of these!
Dude where do you live? Nature looks so beautiful :)
Hi I live in North Wales UK.
+Aki Ami Masen Thank you, she was beautiful but I had to let her go. Miss her lots!
+Aki Ami Masen yes I had to, she wasn't used enough and I lost my storage space.
Aki Ami Masen Nice. Maybe one day I will have another one, they are so much fun!

Awesome little car. Do you still have it?
No I sold it a few years ago. It's been sold a couple of times since too in various states.
26 HP and the gearbox is at the end of the engine, pointing towards the front of the car
Good car. Polish production... !
from my country
BIS був тільки праворульний?
@D41H4T5U It's a nice sort of pastel grey-blue.
@SORPASSO47 Thanks i will do my best! :)
Could you tell me what the plastic part on top of the carburettor/ air intake is called, I need one for my 126.
Hi Paul, hope you're well....just a heads up! Your old fiat is up for sale on carsandclassics. Seems the guy has done some work on it engine and body work.....he's asking £5999. Just thought I'd let you know.....👍
Wow I wish I'd kept it now, I sold it for half that!
@Annihilator1111 I am still learning about the 126, it's a funny little car!
She's back and restored. Full engine rebuild with almost everything replaced. Full body overhaul back to tip top condition. Sadly the two owners between Paul and myself failed to pay it the same respect. More videos from me coming soon.

Would I get insured with this car for my first?
@jaakeefarrow Sweet! What colour?
the best car ;]
@Earonstein619 Not bad for a 21 year old, never been restored either, been off road for 10 years! :)

Polski Fiat 126 FSM (Fabryka Samochodów Małolitrażowych) z Bielska Białej
@Annihilator1111 I'm not sure, how can i tell? It's RHD but I beleive it's made in Poland
@endrightwinglunacy it may be for sale next year :)
Hei man!! How have you solved the Engine overheating of the 126 bis?
Hi. I never had any issues with overheating
Oh ok, just as well ;) ahah, thank you for the answer
@loviveros No thank you, this is my baby! I'm sure you will find another one in London some where!
@Annihilator1111 Yes then, made in Poland, same factory my Abarth 500 is made in!
@MIKSER97 I don't think i will, i am attatched to it!
i think it is because if it was made after 1970s then it made in poland in bielsko biala or tychy
@krisjambon Yep, i only find a pair of shoes that fit me every 3 years or so!
The new 704cc engine increased power from the old 652cc engine by a massive 2 hp! At least the flat-twin allowed the BIS to have folding rear seats.
Water cooling is improvement for sure. New twingo is like bis :)
is it the original fiat 126 or the polski fiat one
@pionierista Not bad for a 21 year old Fiat! She's only done 15,000 miles or so
I have one at 13,600 miles and its 29 years old now
Now that's a rather unfortunate number-plate :P
Water cooled, not air cooled, and bigger 704CC and also you get a boot with the BIS
does it has air conditioning?
通知 no
Paul, did you sell it yet?
Hi Rad, yes I sold her last year for £2500. I was not using her enough, would rather she went to someone that would use her, rather then just sitting gathering dust.
+Paul “Draigflag” Hawkins Aw, I'm sad you sold it.
@14Zawa Thanks
Zajebisty polski sprzęt
what happened to her is she still around ?
No I sold her a couple of years ago, I lost my storage sadly.
Just that she had a mot last in 2013 and i love these little caes
The guy who bought her had a garage, so he's probably just storing her. I regret selling her really
Back in the early nineties it was🤔
hi yes the insurance is alot cheaper i thought fiat seicento was cheapest but insurance on this is £1600 at 17
