Can you set up performances? This is FB-01 strongest point, its ability to play 8 sounds at once (or any combination of splits/layers). It's also hard to set up from the front panel. The old CX5M computer editor did this and really makes the FB-01 shine! Speaking of the CX5M, the FB-01 is actually the sound module from the CX5M put into a self contained box.
was trying to send patches to my FB-01 with the Patch base app, but I keep getting the "Dump Failed" error message. I can send patches from the FB-01 into patch base and edit them though... Any idea what's going wrong?
is it possible to sequence the fb 01 with external sequencer (octatrack) while editing with the app? are there any midi interfaces for ipad on the market that make this possible?
You could route your MIDI like Octatrack -> iPad -> FB-01, if you use an app that can route MIDI through your iPad (Midiflow is one that can do it). Note that you couldn't fetch a patch *from* the FB-01 with this setup though. You could also get some sort of a MIDI hub to hook them all together (I use the MOTU Midi Timepiece).
Yes, some sort of MIDI interface is needed. There are a lot of different ways you can do that, and I have some info here on that: coffeeshopped.com/patch-base-help/recommended-midi-interfaces coffeeshopped.com/patch-base-help/midi-setup-and-troubleshooting
@@cloudrun654 No, the Kenton USB MIDI host won't work with the iPad in general, I believe. The Kenton is meant to replace a USB host. But the iPad serves as a MIDI host itself.
Yes, as long as you have the hardware to allow for having the connections all in place at the same time (e.g. a MIDI merger, or routing the hardware sequencer MIDI data) through the iPad.
I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. This is showing the app editing an FB-01, but the app can edit other synths as well. What wouldn't be working here?
nvm. sry. I see now. I didn't know if it was just a generic controller but I see there are specific set ups you've made for specific synths including the fb01. Sry i don't know all the proper terminology I'm a child of the 90's lol I'm def. grabbing this app as my fb01 is lonely and the other editors cost a lot of money.

Well this is dope. Need to look this up now that I'm the proud owner of an FB-01 someone was about throw away.
Check it out. There's a Mac version too.
@@Coffeeshopped I'm PC and iOS user. Looking forward to checking it out on the tablet. Thanks!

Not at the moment, no. For now it's just a patch editor!
Finally a way to control my FB-01 :)
fantastic job !
yazawatamio thank you!

iconnectivity MIDI2+ or Iconnectivity MIDI4+ work perfectly and keep the ipad charged
Make this a standalone Application for Non-Apple Users (speaking: Windows!)
To use a MIDI controller with a rack mount synth like this, the JV1010 more specifically, as well as the iPad would a MIDI interface be needed then?

Coffeeshopped great! I plan on purchasing an interface and will update with info on my experience. Excited to use your app!
Wonderful, thanks for trying it!
@@Coffeeshopped Do you know, by chance, if the Kenton USB midi host works with your app?
Thanks!

Is this set up just for the fb-01 or are there some parts not working? thx

I got so excited... but then I discovered that I would have to downgrade to an apple device in order to use it.
