Great job Tom!! I hate the shelves on my 2800 N+ . I would definitely buy this . Also they should have made a back door too. Bad design on the shelves and stand. Gets so dirty in my stand with dust and leaves etc.Grou weber Q member made a beautiful back on the Q2800N+ stand.
Hey Tom, I know this is off topic but have you thought about doing a video on rotisserie basket chicken wings? It seems to be a hot topic on UA-cam. I would love to see your take on rotisserie basket wings on a Weber kettle. Your videos have helped me come up with all kinds of ideas to produce good bbq.
Love the concept. 2 concerns. 1) no thermal insulation (the Weber plastic bits have ceramic insulators) 2) how much weight can you put on the outer edge before the Q falls forward?
Thanks for Watching! Since this was designed for a Weber kettle I doubt temp will be an issue, time will tell. The weight I had on the outer edge was 10 pounds, if you watched the video you would see that the same weight bent the original side shelves to the point that a tray of food would slide off. What are your concerns?……
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ was thinking that if enough weight was placed near the edge it would cause the Q to tip forward. Now that it's later (haha) I see the Q 2800 is 31 pounds so that's unlikely to happen.

Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback
Definitely a great mod Tom! Definitely needed an upgrade on that shelf! Cheers 🍻
I agree! Thanks for watching!
Much better after your modification Tom!
Thanks for watching Rob! Yes it is!

Thanks for watching Wayne! Great idea! I’ll look into it
Fabulous mod. Sadly I don't have a Q anymore. Will it fit the front of your CG sidebox?
Thanks for watching Joe! I’m not sure

I took that into consideration, works much better than the original side shelves
Once again Tom MacGyver to the rescue. I don't have my Q anymore, but I am interested in this "as is" for my Weber Kettle.
Thanks Ted! Should work on the kettle just fine
Very nice shelf. The stock shelf is a disaster
Thanks for watching Eric! Agreed
Put ur marshmallow on the side shelves and your pot roast on the Tom shelf.
lol! Thanks for watching!
