- Earlier this month, a Hapeville man shot and killed a 39-year-old armed robbery suspect in self-defense after he and a second suspect cornered the victim in his apartment’s parking garage, police said. Now, Channel 2 Action News has obtained audio of the moment the man called 911.

This is usually referred to as “The felony murder rule.” What it means is if you are a suspect committing a felony crime and someone dies during the crime you are guilty of murder, even if you aren’t the actual person doing the killing. The reasoning being that your criminal actions were what led directly to the killing of another human being and therefore you are criminally responsible for that killing.
