I'd love to be able to talk to public like this. Something like love is beyond scienctific understanding. Love isn't something you can just create in a lab. Computers, can't love, a mixture of chemicals in a test tube cannnot love. Love has to come from a mind. Simply God has given us the ability to love one another. I am a member of the LDS Church, and I love listening to this man's views on Jesus Christ. I love his reasoning and his conviction and his logic. It helps me to be a better Christian and I appreciate every word.
The second man asked why Jesus said, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” I learned recently that he was quoting Psalm 22, which was written ~1000 years before the crucifixion. All of the Jews watching the events at the cross unfold would known it. It is a matter of him identifying as the righteous sufferer in the beginning of the psalm, who is ultimately vindicated by God at the end.
I have been watching these for a month now. I do enjoy the conversations both spiritually and intellectually. However I'm really interested in the outcome of the conversations and don't get that with these videos cutting out at the end. I enjoy long format conversations and would enjoy seeing how both sides concluded the topics. Hopefully in the future we can see a less edited and more complete conversation.

I put the moral problem differently: If you come up with a moral code and I come up with one and they contradict and neither of us is willing to compromise, how do we resolve this conflict? The only logical answer is to appeal to a higher moral code that transcends yours and mine. But the nature of materialism/atheism is that it denies there is such a code. Therefore we are left in a moral Tower of Babel where right and wrong are determined not by the merits but by who wins the war. The only rational response is despair.

Next question about Jesus saying ... My God my God , why have you forsaken me ..... This is easy to understand when you read Psalms 22 , it declares and describes the suffering of the Messiah .... He was repeating those words because the "Pharisees" and "High Priest" where present , they knew scriptures like we know John 3:16 , so it was a "direct" quote for them to remember those verses in Psalms.. He / Jesus , never "felt allienated from the Father" ...
When his sheep hear the gospel they hear the word of God because they are written in the book of life from the beginning. When the wicked hear the gospel it is gibberish to them. They cannot hear and understand. Repent. Turn to Jesus and follow in all his commands and you will be saved. Not enough to just believe. Satan and demons believe. Jesus was the lamb of God. That is way Christ came to lay His life down for us, because we could never fulfill the laws. Why were the laws given. Here is what the Word tells us about that.
I like what Cliffe is talking about but I believe the man who was asking about living up to a certain standard was asking something more theological but is also relational. When we do what John 3:16 tells us to do in order be right with God we are made just in his eyes (justification). After we are justified, we have to DIE to self (die to our flesh) and walk more like Jesus every. single. day. (Sanctification). However!!!! We will never be fully restored and where God had intended us to be (just like JESUS) until we have died and gone to be with the Lord and that is glorification. When we are GLORIFIED and are fully transformed to do what God intended for us to do in the first place and then be away from sin and with God and Jesus forever.
Here’s the thing. God is perfect, He cannot let sin go unpunished. He wanted to create us, because He seen us in the future as if He already created us, and fell in love with us. Here was the dilemma = He seen we were not going to live perfect, so He had to choose, either make us like robots, where we wouldn’t sin, (but then how do you love a toaster and how can a toaster love you back, and how can you have a meaningful relationship with a toaster. Or, make us with a free will, able to sin, but also able to have a meaningful relationship and to love. Or not make us at all. He already fell in love with us, so to Him, not making us was no good for Him, because He loved us, making us robots were no good for Him. Making us with a free will, even though we we’re going to sin, was the best choice for everyone; and He knew how to fix the situation. Because He is a good Judge, He’d have to punish sin, but also wanted to show us mercy, He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross to pay for our sin, then rose from the dead on the third day. So He did what was just, and also gave us mercy. (There’s also technical reasons. He had to become a man, so 100% God & 100% human, in order to be able to get back the deed for earth. Because Adam gave up the deed to the devil. It’s a long story. Bible times in Israel, a person had a deed (a scroll). It was only written on one side (the inside) then sealed with one seal. Let’s say the guy borrowed money and put up his deed, then couldn’t pay it. He lost that property. But they would have a loophole to help that person, so they wouldn’t lose their property. They would give that person 7 years to get back on his feet and pay off the loan and get his deed back. The rules were written on the back of the deed (scroll) then sealed with 7 seals. I assume with God, He gets 7, 000 years instead of 7 years. In revelations, an angel shouts who is worthy to open the scroll with the 7 seals. Jesus walks over (because He is worthy). Technical stuff, pretty cool though. ) :)
As it’s common for atheists to be prevented from seeking God, because of the encumbrance of their desires to validate their atheism, So too is it, that many so called believers, cannot put aside their desires to be right, and therefore cannot bear the exercise that requires them to make a full and independent enquiry without bias or prejudice, regarding the necessity to keep the 7th day sabbath.
Can someone help me with a question? A couple days ago this man was questioning me about my beliefs towards God I brought up the point that I have never seen life created non life and that, that was a part of why I believe there is a God and I asked him “Why do you believe in?” He replied by saying “Asking me that is like asking an Ancient Greek if they don’t believe lighting comes from Zeus then where does lighting come from, now what should that person say?” And it left me speechless. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas over this that could help with this thought?
Regarding Zeus and the lightening, perhaps this might help. I would say in all honesty that all religions including the 3 headed frog god, if there is such a religion , and Zeus, are actually control mechanisms used for the purpose of preserving society. This includes controlling the poor so that they don’t rise up and murder the rich as they did in the French and Russian Revolutions. The bulk of Christianity actually got hijacked around 350 AD by these controllers with the advent of the Catholic Church, but some escaped threw the cracks of the reformation of which I am one. It’s naive of us to not realise that it’s the power of the mega wealthy that’s running the show and not the poor on the street corner playing a 3 string guitar, begging for pennies. And because the rich get sick and tired of having their throats cut by the jealous poor and getting all their stuff taken off them, they have sometimes in ancient history resorted to inventing control mechanisms that were excessively brutal, to say the very least, but very effective. Baal worship was the worst of these. Everybody’s first born child was thrown into the fire as a sacrifice to Baal. This crushed and broke the people so much that they became completely tame and obedient. The people running the show didn’t believe in Baal. They just invented it to control people but as they were part of that evil fake priesthood they presumably would have been immune from needing to throw their own children in the fire. So in answer that question about Zeus and the lightening I would say that all religions are man made inventions with the exception of Judaism and Christianity, both of which are from the one true living God. However both these religions from God have been invaded and to a large part are now control mechanisms. This is certainly true with Judaism but also to a lesser extent Christianity too. However it’s to a much lesser extent. Atheism is a relatively new control mechanism, the new kid on the block that’s gaining traction, made possible by the reformation, and it competes with Catholicism and fights to exterminate the belief in the existence of God. It’s not that difficult to bring the people under control provided you have their ear. Firstly you must make them feel very important. You do this by convincing them that they are right and everyone else that’s not in their club is flat out wrong. That’s the bait and this hooks them, hook line and sinker and it makes them feel very important or worthwhile or significant. I’m not sure if this answers your question or not.
I think God knew and allowed us to be flawed so we would need him because when you realize you are needy you lose your pride and he cannot abide pride because pride leads to conflict. Look at the fallen angels.

When God created Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, he gave them a command to obey and told them the penalty for disobedience was death. They had both the free will and ability to choose to either obey God or not. They willfully chose to disobey God. They were fully capable of living up to God's standard, but they chose not to.

I'd love to be able to talk to public like this. Something like love is beyond scienctific understanding. Love isn't something you can just create in a lab. I learned recently that he was quoting Psalm 22, which was written ~1000 years before the crucifixion. All of the Jews watching the events at the cross unfold would known it. It is a matter of him identifying as the righteous sufferer in the beginning of the psalm, who is ultimately vindicated by God at the end.

I have been watching these for a month now. I do enjoy the conversations both spiritually and intellectually. However I'm really interested in the outcome of the conversations and don't get that with these videos cutting out at the end. I put the moral problem differently:
If you come up with a moral code and I come up with one and they contradict and neither of us is willing to compromise, how do we resolve this conflict?
The only logical answer is to appeal to a higher moral code that transcends yours and mine.
But the nature of materialism/atheism is that it denies there is such a code. Therefore we are left in a moral Tower of Babel where right and wrong are determined not by the merits but by who wins the war.
The only rational response is despair.

This is easy to understand when you read Psalms 22 , it declares and describes the suffering of the Messiah .... He was repeating those words because the "Pharisees" and "High Priest" where present , they knew scriptures like we know John 3:16 , so it was a "direct" quote for them to remember those verses in Psalms..
He / Jesus , never "felt allienated from the Father" ...
When his sheep hear the gospel they hear the word of God because they are written in the book of life from the beginning. When the wicked hear the gospel it is gibberish to them. They cannot hear and understand. Repent. Turn to Jesus and follow in all his commands and you will be saved. Not enough to just believe. Satan and demons believe. I like what Cliffe is talking about but I believe the man who was asking about living up to a certain standard was asking something more theological but is also relational.
When we do what John 3:16 tells us to do in order be right with God we are made just in his eyes (justification). After we are justified, we have to DIE to self (die to our flesh) and walk more like Jesus every. single. day. (Sanctification).
However!!!! We will never be fully restored and where God had intended us to be (just like JESUS) until we have died and gone to be with the Lord and that is glorification. When we are GLORIFIED and are fully transformed to do what God intended for us to do in the first place and then be away from sin and with God and Jesus forever.

Here’s the thing. God is perfect, He cannot let sin go unpunished. He wanted to create us, because He seen us in the future as if He already created us, and fell in love with us. Here was the dilemma = He seen we were not going to live perfect, so He had to choose, either make us like robots, where we wouldn’t sin, (but then how do you love a toaster and how can a toaster love you back, and how can you have a meaningful relationship with a toaster. Or, make us with a free will, able to sin, but also able to have a meaningful relationship and to love. Or not make us at all. He already fell in love with us, so to Him, not making us was no good for Him, because He loved us, making us robots were no good for Him. Making us with a free will, even though we we’re going to sin, was the best choice for everyone; and He knew how to fix the situation. Because He is a good Judge, He’d have to punish sin, but also wanted to show us mercy, He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross to pay for our sin, then rose from the dead on the third day. So He did what was just, and also gave us mercy. (There’s also technical reasons. He had to become a man, so 100% God & 100% human, in order to be able to get back the deed for earth. Because Adam gave up the deed to the devil. It’s a long story. Bible times in Israel, a person had a deed (a scroll). It was only written on one side (the inside) then sealed with one seal. Let’s say the guy borrowed money and put up his deed, then couldn’t pay it. He lost that property. But they would have a loophole to help that person, so they wouldn’t lose their property. They would give that person 7 years to get back on his feet and pay off the loan and get his deed back. The rules were written on the back of the deed (scroll) then sealed with 7 seals. I assume with God, He gets 7, 000 years instead of 7 years. In revelations, an angel shouts who is worthy to open the scroll with the 7 seals. Jesus walks over (because He is worthy). Technical stuff, pretty cool though. ) :)

Can someone help me with a question? A couple days ago this man was questioning me about my beliefs towards God I brought up the point that I have never seen life created non life and that, that was a part of why I believe there is a God and I asked him “Why do you believe in?” He replied by saying “Asking me that is like asking an Ancient Greek if they don’t believe lighting comes from Zeus then where does lighting come from, now what should that person say?” And it left me speechless. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas over this that could help with this thought?
Regarding Zeus and the lightening, perhaps this might help.
I would say in all honesty that all religions including the 3 headed frog god, if there is such a religion , and Zeus, are actually control mechanisms used for the purpose of preserving society.
This includes controlling the poor so that they don’t rise up and murder the rich as they did in the French and Russian Revolutions.
The bulk of Christianity actually got hijacked around 350 AD by these controllers with the advent of the Catholic Church, but some escaped threw the cracks of the reformation of which I am one.

So in answer that question about Zeus and the lightening I would say that all religions are man made inventions with the exception of Judaism and Christianity, both of which are from the one true living God.
However both these religions from God have been invaded and to a large part are now control mechanisms.
This is certainly true with Judaism but also to a lesser extent Christianity too. However it’s to a much lesser extent.
Atheism is a relatively new control mechanism, the new kid on the block that’s gaining traction, made possible by the reformation, and it competes with Catholicism and fights to exterminate the belief in the existence of God.
It’s not that difficult to bring the people under control provided you have their ear.
Firstly you must make them feel very important.
You do this by convincing them that they are right and everyone else that’s not in their club is flat out wrong.
That’s the bait and this hooks them, hook line and sinker and it makes them feel very important or worthwhile or significant.

I think God knew and allowed us to be flawed so we would need him because when you realize you are needy you lose your pride and he cannot abide pride because pride leads to conflict. Look at the fallen angels.

When God created Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, he gave them a command to obey and told them the penalty for disobedience was death. They had both the free will and ability to choose to either obey God or not. They willfully chose to disobey God. They were fully capable of living up to God's standard, but they chose not to.
