Hi Mary - I love to watch you work around your property, it gives me inspiration to get outside and work in my own garden! I'm here in Boise, ID and the calendar says it's spring, and the hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips are beginning to bloom and the forsythia are now in full bloom... that's always an indication that spring is here, but the weather is still very cool and unpredictable. I too can't wait for the trees to be green again. I love watching your husband build the rock walls and stairs, etc. He makes it all look so easy and does such fine work. Hi, this is one of my favorite of your videos! Watching Twinkle was a joy, he seems so happy and playful, and I got a kick out of him getting on top the arbor. Probably he is lurking for birds, I hope he doesn’t catch any (sorry, Twinkle!) 😂 I was very curious about Dandelion Gravy! I’d never heard of that, although I know how to fix greens like wilted lettuce with bacon onion and vinegar, etc…and my mom taught me to bread and fry the blossoms! My VERY picky husband who won’t eat ANY vegetables will eat fried dandelion blossoms because he thinks they taste like fried morels! (I think they taste more like fried cauliflower. Anyway, this was a fun and very interesting video and I plan to tell my mom how you fixed your dandelion gravy, as she makes a dish of boiled eggs in a white sauce and this would just be adding some more things to that. Sounds delicious. Sorry for the long comment and happy Spring! ❤
We had a big windevent here in Tennessee 2 weeks ago that uprooted a tree and caused it to take out 2 more trees! I thought I was all done clearing my lower property line but Mother Nature had other plans!! Twinkle looked so cute on top of the arbor!!

This time of the year is always hit or miss with the weather. I love getting my garden ready for the coming season. i am a bit late this year as we are getting some work done in the house so we can sell and move to the countryside. I will miss my garden here but i know i can make a new one in our new place. I love your garden Mary its so beautiful. the periwinkle is a plant i have in my garden too it is right underneath a shrub there isn't much in competition with it there. The garden is what sold me on this house we are in right now and the clincher for my hubby was the man cave in the basement with a bar there. I rarely drink alcohol but we host a party at Christmas time for our friends every year. I am hoping they are going to come out to our new place fingers crossed, maybe they can stay for the night then. i am sure we will have the space for that. i will have a place to put my horse too so i don't have to pay someone else for boarding. I just love your videos I love your land I love the rocks most of all I love your pond I had a chance to have one built but I live in the city in Dallas Texas so lots of birds lots of trees plus I'm disabled for my right side but I get out there I might be hobbling and about to fall down but I always get back up thank God but I just wanted to tell you guys you're awesome I love the hard work that you guys put in but then you go and relax buy a beautiful fire afterwards it's awesome God bless to you and your family.
Our house is in the woods also....couple wks ago had a couple 80 degree days...then had a blast of snow...and now rain...so we haven't started yard cleanup yet....unpredictable weather here in WI.....always lots of work...but looks so nice when it's finished.....next wk the weather man promises 50's....so will have to get busy with the rake.....your yard will be beautiful.
My parents always put straw over freshly sewn grass to keep the birds from eating it and to keep it in place when watering. Your video reminds me of some things I need to do at home.
Mary, this video is really like a breath of Springtime. I live in Ohio also, about 3 hours from you. As a 72 year old widow I sometimes feel overwhelmed with the Springtime clean-up in the yard. I was inspired to tackle the fallen leaves in my flower beds when I saw how you and John used a tarp to move the leaves. Thank you also for the dandelion gravy recipe. I have an abundance of ingredients for it.😊 God bless you and your family❣
