I agree with you on clones, and think they can be a viable option for people on a budget who would like to know what the really thing at least feels like, and for £17 you know its not real so its not like people are being tricked either. Great review mate.
Thanks! It`s sold openly as a clone, wouldn`t fool anyone that its the original so fine by me. If I ever win the Lottery though I`d have the genuine thing in a heartbeat.
I do love the look of Medford knives. Honestly from what I've heard you're probably better off buying a clone than a real one as I have heard that Greg Medford himself is a real asshole unfortunately. The company doesn't seem to be much better either and really doesn't seem to like giving people replacement parts or taking responsibility when things go wrong and people basically end up with a damn near thousand pound paper weight.
That really is shocking. I`d love to go to the US and buy a genuine one for 1/4 of the price over here...sounds like I`m better off with my clone. Which I like a lot.
Nice knife I bought a clone from Amazon but it doesn't have the medford markings. I polished the blade to an almost mirror finish. Then used my sharp maker to put a really sharp edge on it. Overall I'm impressed with quality on these clones. It will have to suffice till I have an extra $1000 to buy the real thing.
I saw his video, been on the look out for a clone ever since. This is a brilliant knife, if only I could afford the original (without my Mrs finding out how much it costs..!)
