Hey Tim, I'm just wondering what the hell can we do? This is getting ridiculous right now with the drivers being attacked. I don't know something needs to be done. Uber is not doing s*** Lyft isn't doing s*** and and it's a weekly thing now. They need to do something to up the safety in these organizations. Big time!!
Only pick up passengers who have a photo or fake names such as cat, dog, truck, flower, auto, etc. Also, check their rating. I don't pick up any passenger who has a star rating of 4.80 and below. There's a bad reason why passengers have low star ratings. Red flag. New passengers, changing drop of location, don't get distracted, watch for their nervous behavior. Make sure the passenger has a seatbelt on.
I highly suggest to everyone to know your city, learn the neighborhoods before getting in to this job, watch videos, most of these incidents have lot of stuff in common, pay attention, before unlock your door look at your passenger, evaluate, think, adjust your working hours. It’s was an other sad story in the news, I hope driver recover soon and get well
In my field, we call them pre-incident indicators! Recognizing and elevating to higher level of awareness to condition yellow to red. You do need a mitigation response.Thisis being proactive (head on a swivel), Police response is reactive. Lyft and Uber safety features are just that "safety features" designed to protect only them from any liability or financial obligation. Save your own life because attacks happen in milliseconds not minutes.
Zaddyghost says stop taking cheap trips and I agree 100%, because i did an analysis of my own rides and highlighted who gave me the most troulble and the best tips #1 Blk / Wht in their late 30's and above best tipers , wht women #2 and by a long distance #3 blk women. Minor Problem passengers #1 women blk / wht. Eatting drinking , no baby seats, leave trash in the cars, backseat drivers (Karens). Verbal threats to do bodily harm, 1 Blk male, 1 Blk female stuck my car with rocks because i refused to lett her ride with 1 baby criddled in her arms and 2 standing that all required restraint seats , 2 wht male sexual invitations by gay men , all kicked out of my car before 911 would have needed to been called. I basically drive tourist areas and avoid the hoods. Im a blk man with no caps!!!
Here in Chicago Uber has optional insurance. I’ve had it for about 5 years. Thank goodness I haven’t had to use it. But look into it. See if it’s in your market. It’s in the app. They pay for medical benefits and loss of income if u are injured while doing Uber. Again only Uber has it. And I’m not sure if it’s available in every market.
@@timetowakeup6302 they better. It’s not free we pay per trip and it can be tracked. Unless Uber wants YET AGAIN another lawsuit. Which is cool too…been looking to retire early.

Best suggestions is to consider a safer side hustle. Otherwise...
Weapons, consider a Partition and remain alert.
It appears to me more to this !!!!

Another lawsuit against uber. Rideshare businesses could prevent this
I would sue the dog out of Uber for not doing background checks on these passengers for having me at risk! They would pay for my hospital bill!
Long stretch. I stay with food deliveries. Humans have lost it, I will make do whit whatever I make .

But I’m definitely glad the driver is still with us. Looks like it’s going to be a long road. But glad he’s ok.
Having the insurance is one thing. Them honoring the policy when you have to make a claim is a completely different subject matter.

You fail to mention that uber has and still continues to deny most insurance claims. Lyft does the same. They refer you to your private insurance
@@Mississippiking03 I’m not talking about auto insurance bro. And Lyft doesn’t offer the OPTIONAL INSURANCE.
Better off becoming a cop at least they gove u a handgun n vest 😂
I knew this Uber, Lyft crap was foolish in the first place. I told young people how dangerous it was and the laughed at me.
It's very dangerous
