I’ve got 2 of the defy black 7’3 medium heavy’s and I love them for the price. Work really well for big worm rods. Usually throw a 10in worm or a bigger shaky head on them. I’ll throw a spinner bait, chatter bait, and like a paddle tail swim bait on them earlier in the year as well. My home lake usually toward the end of may to the first of June the fish start to work deep usually catch them anywhere from 15-30ft through the summer
Thank you Christian; glad to see you're staying with 13 for the upcoming season. I think you're a great ambassador for the brand. For what it's worth, I have that 7-4 MH moderate-fast and love it. It's paired with a Shimano SLX 70 MGL, and that reel's smaller profile pairs well with the thicker handles on the Omen and my long skinny fingers. The rod impresses me as more of a heavy medium than a medium heavy, if that makes sense, but that slightly softer tip really does a great job with hooksets and keeping fish on once they're hooked. I use it for chatterbaits and lighter jigs with straight fluorocarbon; I'm a bank guy, so cannot get too specialized. I have a 7-1 Fate Black ML spinner (6-lb line) that I use in ponds without heavy cover, and it's been great for me. Have not tried the crankbait rods, though. As an aside, I really enjoyed the collaborations with you and Brian; hope you two get together again soon. Maybe you should ring up the G-Man when his new series launches; he would probably enjoy some river fishing. Thanks again and good luck this season!
A fantastic arsenal! Like you, I have a lot of 13 fishing equipment. My favorite is the omen serious. However, I did purchase a lot of the Envy 2 Black. Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the Fuse the highest end rod?
I picked up an omen just before fall so I didn’t get much time with it but I have that 7’4 med heavy mid fast as well and feels pretty good I even have the defy I think the newer one that’s like $60 bucks it’s a great rod for $60 bucks I have that in a 7’4 med mod it’s my top water rod
Christian inspired me to take mine out earlier today; white Chatterbait with a Big Bite Baits Kamikaze Swimon trailer. I pulled in about a five-pounder with it: three-pound bass and about two pounds of hydrilla. I like the rod a lot; I hope it has enough power to meet Christian's needs.
Hi Christian, new subscriber and love your humble videos! Live south of you on Sanibel and have to travel to Lake O or North for some decent flippin! What is the A2 gear ratio you use for flippin and do you still recommend the Omen 8'0" XH for heavy flippin? Let’s Go 2023
Great breakdown of your arsenal. Something a lot of guys (including myself) are guilty of, is staying away from the shorter rods, like sub-7', but they definitely have their place, like jerkbaits. I even like a shorter rod when throwing my spook because I like to keep my rod tip down when walking it. What short rods do you use and what for?
Been looking at the omen and fate rods a lot. I really think 13 fishing might be the best bang for the buck on the market. Do you feel like the handles on the omens are too fat? And how is the weight? Trying to get some input before I pull the trigger
I don’t have a problem with the handles on the Omen. I really think it’s the best budget rod out there, I use them pretty regularly. As for weight, they are pretty light.
@@ChristianGreico appreciate that. Love the channel and looking forward to more tournament content. I follow Brian latimers channel also, so it’s cool y’all stay together on tour!
I own plenty of NRX's and I will honestly say 13's Envy Black lll series has a special place right up their with my NRX's! Can't go wrong with either.. except for biting the financial bullet they may be for most everyday fisherman!
For the cranking rods what length would you recommend if you could only use one rod. I’m a 13 year old kid and all I can really afford is one cranking rod for now. Great video by the way. Your by far my favorite fishing UA-camr. Keep up the awesome vids your killing it👊
@@ChristianGreico Thank you so much! Just another quick question, I got a 7 foot 1” Fate black in a medium power, what bait or baits would you recommend for that rod?
I bought the radioactive pickle combo. Sucked. Poor quality and bad paints. Lost my fsith in 13 Fishing. You’re better off with Lews,AbuGarcia, or better yet, Shimano.
Next upload is the Toyota Series Championship! I think you guys are really going to love this one!
Let it rip tator chip

Nice, sounds like those defy blacks are pretty popular!
👀 The Florida Hammer 🔨 punching rod. No doubt it will be good. I will be grabbing one!
Hopefully they’ll be ready soon but not rushing anything. Want everything to be perfect!

Brian and I will be traveling together again this year so I’m sure we’ll do some collabs!
I miss the last generation C2. What a great reel.
Man so sick getting new reels all the time, want to send me some of your old one setups lol
I haven’t tried the a2 yet but I have been using the c2s since later part of last year I love them. Completely switching from Lews to 13 fishing reels
Awesome! If you like that C2 then there's no doubt you'll love the A2!
Awesome rods !

Great vid ,looking for suggestion on worm rod reel.
Omen 7’6 MH is a good option
Will you be getting a new wrap on your truck and boat for this year?
Yep

Definitely the 8.3:1 for the A2! If you’re flipping something like a 2 ounce then the 8’0 XH is good. Anything lighter and the 7’11 H will do better.
What do you do with your old reels and rods?
I'm am very interested in your thoughts on using that 7'4 for Chatterbaits
Does the 7’1” heavy Omen have enough backbone for frogs?

The 6’8 M Envy for jerkbaits is really the only rod shorter than 7’ I use
For the cranking rod, it’s really good for like lipless cranks too and not only crank baits right?
Yeah, just depends what kind of stuff you’re throwing it around. If I’m throwing a trap around grass I like a 7’3 MH graphite rod
@@ChristianGreico ok thanks man 👊
You killed it in the Googan Squad vids!
Thanks! It was fun fishing with those guys
I went with the 8 ft heavy defy black swimbait rod. It's pretty sweet for a 100 rod.
@@ChristianGreico I bet!
No dropshots for the northern swing😊

Would you happen to have a discount code for 13?

Do you know if the omen rod is going to come back out soon? Right now it says it’s discontinued.
They’re being discontinued but there’s a new rod that will be taking it’s place
No meta ? Was hoping to see some of those
They’re not out yet but I do have a few

Is your punch rod a custom or do you buy them as well.
Been testing prototype 13’s
Sick bro 🔥
Awesome stuff ready to go smoke them . Only if they new what was going to happen hahaha. Thanks again for sharing all you do. Late.
I have a few omens and a bunch of fates and honestly I feel the fates are better
😎😎😎😎
I have a spinning reel that’s over engineered
Nice 🔥
dude i’m trying so hard to get sponsored by 13 fishing 😂

You get what you pay for. This is the same with any brand/supplier…
