With rebate I paid $210.00 Its a hell of a buy and reliable. its a Savage and two mags deal, it is not a sccy, tauras, or Kahr all unreliable cheap pieces of over hyped junk.
My local shop had this Savage at $295 out the door or a stainless Taurus G3c at $300 out the door. I went with the Taurus after handling and checking both. The overall feel, trigger and 3 double stack mags sold me on the Taurus.
I picked up an honor guard some years back. This is essentially the same gun. Only difference I've seen is the stainless barrel on the stance and some different cuts in the design. I never had that much trouble putting the spring back in, and my mag release always worked just fine. If there's any tiny silver lining (at least for me and any other honor defense owners) we can get parts and mags again lol.
I just bought one for. $225 after rebate. Wasn't interested in the stance at $400+ but for the $225 it looks pretty good. I like the trigger and extra weight over my pm9 and lc9s. Haven't got to shoot it yet I'm in the waiting period.
My Stance was around $235 with transfer. I carry it in an undershirt under arm position and have the 10 round mag. Far superior to the S&W at a better price.
They came out with it too late. As a lefty I was initially interested because it's the "only" micro 9 with an ambi slide stop (to my knowledge). I'm still not sure why all the big brands didn't make their micro 9's with ambi slide stops... maybe they want to sell more when they come out with a gen 2 or 3 or whatever or maybe it just isn't really possible mechanically who knows.
Its harder to make all the parts fit. The Savage does it by having a stupidly large gap between the barrel and the frame. Im not a lefty, but i do shoot left and righ handed, so i get the want.
What do people expect for a 250 dollar firearm? For the average bloke this will be just fine. It's fine for me has always been reliable. I definitely can't kick ass so this would be of assistance just fine. Better to have one then not
I wouldn't do that, it's a rebadged honor guard, it's designed to be unobtrusive concealed carry, savage can do better no doubt but this gun has proven accurate and reliable, and one heck of alot better to carry in a waist holster than a hi point. Savage saved an american made gun and you can bet they will back it if need be. I wasn't impressed with the trigger and capacity is a big deal to some but not me considering i hate a bulky carry gun and this gun was replacing a 38caliber derringer. I can put this gun in my waist holster and not even know it's there unless i need to(doesn't jab me bending and twisting as a mechanic) the mag release and trigger got better with some time on it and it has been very reliable with all types of rounds i have put through it, recoil isn't bad it's easy and quick to pull, i can carry it without any discomfort and i hit what i'm aiming at everytime. It's not hellcat quality but it's quite a bit cheaper and it is as accurate in my experience. This is just a new start for savage and i have trusted that company for decades and decades and have never been let down.

In 2021, Savage released their own new pistol, the Stance. Immediately some eagle-eyed viewers noticed the Stance looked a lot like the Honor Defense.
The weird guide rod/ recoil spring is the exact same as the Honor Guard as well.
As of now (August of 2024), my LGS has some versions of these on clearance for $250.
Still too much money for this pistol.

It’s also $150 more than the honor gaurd.
Honor Guards went for about $450 at their peak 🙄

I got mine for $180 after rebate

My experience with the HG, tells me this is going to be a well-made pistol.

Savage didn't come into the pistol market, they returned to it.
I know. Same as mossberg. At least the Mossberg isnt total crap. This thing seriously feels as bad as a hi point.
Thanks for the memory and that's all.
Even a Gunmaker that has not made a pistol in nearly a century has jumped on the Polymer striker fired bandwagon.
But I like my DB9 🥺
Looks like Savage dropped a turd in the punch bowl with this one. Thanks for the review.
No problem. Im disappointed in it. I was hoping for a better gun
I can't watch this video intil you get an electrician to raise your outlet!!!
How can you do a review of a pistol without actually shooting it? You’re wasting our time.
Yeah.... I think I'll take a Hi-Point over this piece of parts.
It's just bad
