I first heard this song by Three Dog Night that Spring of '70, I was a young 11yr old and I was learning to play America's favorite pastime: it's called Baseball !...... After all these years, Three Dog Night STILL has it goin' on.
What I loved about this band is the fact that all three of them were lead singers. All three of them still sound fabulous, which isn't true with all singers that have been in the business for over 40 years. Cory and Danny you are still the greatest.
NO BAND IN HISTORY HAD 3 BETTER VOCLISTS .... IT MATTERED NOT WHO WAS SINGING ... THEY ... ALL ... HAD O U T S T A N D I N G VOICES NOT EVEN THE BEATLES HAD BETTER VOCALISTS ... THE 3 BEST SINGERS IN HISTORY .... B A R N O N E .... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WOWWWWWWWWWWWW I AM I COLLEGE IN 1972 AGAIN ....... THE BEST VOCALS ......... E V E R !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saw, and met this lineup in 2000. Michael Allsup couldn't be bothered. The rest were cool, I told Jimmie I had just finished his book, He seemed grateful, and joked around with me , Still love this band. R.i.p. Jimmie and Cory
It's so pretentious to assume that kids only listen to the billboard top 100... we are well aware of the classics of the past and we're tired of your bizarre musical superiority complex
@@nicholassparks7254 Well, to be fair, I'd hardly say you're "all" aware of classics. The majority of youth today have no clue of these bands, aside from maybe a few of the biggest (Beatles, Queen, Stones, etc). I've never met a kid who knew who The Animals are, or The Zombies, or Bad Company, or War, Warren Zevon, Steppenwolf, and so on. If you do, high five, but don't assume they all know... Because that's very far from the truth. Most know the garbage pop shit if today, which is nothing close to classic rock.
@@chrisPAT03 while I do acknowledge that most kids my age usually listen to modern music, you forget how ingrained oldies are in pop culture. Even lesser known bands, like war. Their song low rider was the theme song for the George Lopez show, which pretty much everyone around my age grew up around. Steppenwolf is still very popular. I know kids who listen to them so much they even have steppenwolf t-shirts. Of course old music is waning in popularity, and most people my age don't listen to it regularly, but almost all of us are aware of it.
I came of age during the 1960s so I pretty much lived through the high period of popular music. I try to listen to contemporary pop but I just find so little which can compare. But as been pointed out, all the great stuff from the earlier period is available on UA-cam - the one great innovation which didn't exist back in the day. The undeniable creativity of the music of the 60s, and its abundance, is a musical record of the consciousness of the day. Those were magical times.
Holy smokin flashback! I saw these guys in concert in a huge coliseum and at a smaller show. They are STILL awesome and awe inspriing. Was lucky enough to talk to Cory at the smaller hall, thanked him for choosing to be an entertainer, good choice and good for us fans!
One of my favorite bands growing up. Such amazing talent 60s through 70s. Such variety. Thesebands could wright their songs and Amazing musicians too. Those days are gone . but for tube and our collections
I've listened to this over and over and it never, grows old. What a talented group. Their vocals were outstanding, their renditions of songs that had previously not gained any following, and their overall presence on stage was pure , joyous entertainment.
Memories of a wonderful upbringing. Lawton Park at it's peak. So epic I was right in the middle of where I belonged. And couldn't think of another place no more special and the coolest rock and roll of the 70's,Fresh cold swimming and concession stand, diving board that bounced high, sliding board, kiddie pool and speakers coming from the jukebox! Lifeguards on duty, innertubes for rent, what else could you ask for..! Going home to our place!!! OLIVER'S BAIT @ TACKLE where the music continued and life was good!!! Thanks to our wonderful parents , that knew what it took to raise us to be caring and kind and always help others when in need,! Thanks, MOM @Dad
I spent eight years trying to find the 'live' version of this song. Job done, about twenty years ago. Enjoyed that double album ever since. Then I see this. The fuckers were still doing it that recently. So tight. So musical. Such fun.
I just saw 3DN tonight at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa, CA and they rocked the house!!! The did a great "rendition" of this classic and had everyone clapping and stomping. If anyone gets the chance to see 3DN, do it; you won't be disappointed.
I'm still in shock at how good the sound is and how danny and corey's vocals are so dead on, let me know when ytou all play the Sommet Center in nashvile, pplleeeaaassseee!
raised on radio "OUT IN THE COUNTRY" one of the best songs. wish I would have seen them 2002, when they appeared in Waco, love all their music. Mr. Wells said it best, "its all about the music" RIP
I'm guessing this is around 2010 but man, does Corey sound phenomenal or what?? Wow, dude had such a unique voice; raspy, bluesy, southern, versatile. He could nail anything. I put him in the company of Eric Burdon and Paul Rodgers... And that's some excellent company. RIP, brother... You were awesome!
This band was the stuff brothers and sisters.70s FN rocked and 3 Dog night I used to watch their Saturday special for kids .They drove around in that big panel truck that said said 3 Dog Night on the sides.Rat fink keep on trucking ,and H-R puff n stuff.Damn I miss being a kid in the 70s.i could produce a movie about these times for sure
"The Businessmen" (the band I am in) will be the opening act for "Three Dog Night" on July 4th at the Pittsburgh River Regatta. Should be a blast! If you're in town come on down and give a shout!
Holy &$@! These guys still sound fantastic -- musically AND vocally! And what a clown Cory is. Anyone catch that side-slide step he does in the inset box @ 1:34 - 1:39? Hilarious!
Phenomenal performance. It could have just been an average song... and they turned it into a literal masterpiece.
This is the best version of this 3 Dog Night classic I've heard. A power group back by an orchestra and killer horn line.
I miss these guys so much. I’m still obsessed with their music!
THREE OF THE BEST VOCALIST OF THE CENTURY IN ONE BAND , THANK YOU GOD
Best live performance video of this song. Cory was a hard worker who gave it everything, no matter how many times he'd sung this song before.
My thoughts exactly. INCREDIBLE Performance! What a TREAT 🎶🎵🔊TDN👍🏻

Thank you. It is rare to see that talent. They performed very well together. "Jeremiah was a "Bullfrog " and he was a friend of mine .
Miss this group so much. 🎵🎶
So so sad Cory died.
They were the BEST!!!
I absolutely love this version of the song. It's so good! I listen to it daily. If you're in a sour mood this will get you feeling pretty sweet.
What is the context of the song? Thanks in advance.
Saw, and met this lineup in 2000. Michael Allsup couldn't be bothered. The rest were cool, I told Jimmie I had just finished his book, He seemed grateful, and joked around with me , Still love this band. R.i.p. Jimmie and Cory
three dog night dominated radio airplay with all these great songs throughout the 70 s. everyone loved their music
Literally some of the best harmonizing vocals of all time and was one of the greatest lead vocals of all time
Corey Wells.....what a rare talent. Another of the greats gone.😥
Oh, Cory, what a voice you had!
Great band and great singers.
Wow. Just, wow. Very impressive. Everyone on stage brought their A game on this one!
Sang so great and Loved their mannerisms. exhibited during performances.
Kicking it in the ass. Awesome my fav's from the 70's❤❤❤
The kids of today will never know what they missed, that's the true tragedy of it all...
They're not missing it. It's still here.

Amazing! ❤❤ glad I got to hear them live ages ago❤❤
Saw an interview with Chuck and he said Corey was a world class fly fisherman and would fish wherever they were touring.Dang that is so cool
Three Dog Night had so much going on: great songs, excellent vocals, dynamics, and keyboards (unlike many loud "guitar only" bands of the time).
The best band that ever was or ever will be
Awesome! Super soulful performance. Can FEEL it!
These guys are sooooo great!!!!

very good
Good lord!! What a great band!!
So much better than what I remember. And the big brass section is killer -too bad the producers didn't use one in the record.

There will never be another Cory Wells!
Still love these guys.!!!!!

Wait up, is that an earring in Cory’s left ear! Oh, snap. Knew he was cooler than cool!
Cory😥😥🖤🌹
this concert was recorded in 1999 at The Renaissance Center in Dickson, TN
Wow, just think that was 20 years ago, hard to believe that even 1999 is now considered old.....
2020 anyone?
I tell ya...aging like a fine wine....
1:35 always makes me laugh when the guitarist shoves the lead singer for dancing into him. Lol you could tell they had fun
