I find it rather fascinating that I’m seeing similar results on my TCL Q7 2023 (with your settings of course) I picked up the tcl q7 75 inch tv for just over 1000 dollars and I can’t help but notice the similarity of borderlands 3 to both of these tvs it’s amazing what tcl provides for the money.
😂 Hold my beer indeed ! The QM8 is a smoking deal at $997 at BB right now. The picture resolution is now spectacular in my family room. Thanks for the calibration benchmarks for the initial setup 👍🏼
Good on you to do this video for the people, man! I’m not surprised at all that the TCL is holding up as well as it did! Like I told you my caretaker and his brother bought the 75 inch variation of this TV. I forget the model number but anyway the settings that you made for the QM8 made them very happy once I was able to do it for them. English is not their first language so like I said, I got your blessing to help them out. So yeah for a budget TV it’s killing it this year! Sony really has just lost what made them good! If it wasn’t for the fact in my opinion that PlayStation just plays so much better than an Xbox Sony would have literally nothing! Glad you enjoy both consoles though.
I checked the rtings comparison and the TCL beats it in color and motion and it also beats it in input lag...and those are the most important things to me..also the TCL is brighter too..thank you so much man..I might replace my LG c1 with this TCL
Quantum, if you end up reviewing the QN85D (it’s honestly a fantastic set-I think you'd really like it), I’ll happily send a fat tip your way when those settings drop! Your Q8FN settings were spot-on, they completely transformed that TV and I'd love to see you work your magic on my QN85D too!
Picked up a 75 inch QM851g for 1,326.99 you cannot beat that price! Oct they hit the lowest price yet. I wonder what Black Friday will bring the prices down to.
@Quantum_TV you nailed it on this one! Excellent comparison. Thanks for this. I hope that people watch this when making a ‘smart’ decision if they’re in the market for a TV. The TCL is an EXCELLENT choice; for ‘the quality!’…(pause)… I was going to say ‘the price’ but my mindset has shifted about what TCL has done this year. Amazing work TCL (if you’re listening). They’ve put a product out that can compete with the big boys…the big names! It’s my opinion that this is TCLs breakout year. But back to value….the Sony is not double the price better…at all! People….take TCL seriously moving forward.
This comparison actually opened my eyes a little to the claim that Sony has better processing. The TCL, here, has the brighter highlights most of the time, but the Sony looks as if it has much better gradients, both with luminance and color, if that makes any sense. Overall, the picture on the Sony does have solid "clarity" and looks more "competent." I really wish there were videos showing actual examples of the impact that better processing has on picture quality. Maybe I've been paying too much attention towards which picture is brighter after all.
No the Sony is not worth $2000 more. and just think the $2000 that you could save you could start building a nice home theater system. Maybe you can even buy a whole home theater system and would not be top-of-the-line but you can do it. I really think the three big names, Sony, LG and Samsung, you overpay for the name. Heck I remember when Samsung the only place you could get them more in Kmart and gold Circle as a budget TV
Can you show some movie or streaming if possible please? I don’t play video games, but I’m looking for a TV for movie watching and streaming. Thanks Q!!!
I own the 75 QM851G and the 98 QM851g both 2024 models. Why are the settings menu's slightly different in reference to advance picture settings? Same TV, same model, same year 2024 only difference is the size. I wanted to configure with the settings you have but can't on 98 inch. Thanks
what are your color settings on the b9? you should be doing local dimming medium, black adjust off, peak luminance high, you can try live color either off or low/medium, adv contrast enhancer if you dont find it vibrant enough will do a lot to the image quality in hdr... yeah the qm8 is really vibrant but its hard to believe the bravia 9 cant do as much by just playing with some settings. or in any case if it looks that punchy then it must fail somewhere else.
Don't do that. TCL beat bravia 9 in color, brightness, and internal sound quality. The design, Anti-Glare, and a few other things are a win for all consumer REGARDLESS of wealth.
@@Quantum_TV the contrast and the brighter highlights on the right sony is what did it for me but i agree with you as for the colors and brightness though tcl take the cake on those aspects

Brother, Sony beats up TCL by build quality and processing. Go and buy any model from Sony and you will be happy is not it’s not necessary to buy the high end one. This is look like comparing iPhone with Samsung, on paper Samsung wins but in reliability and usability, the iPhone wins.
TCL has advanced. Sony is going backwards. Sony is not worth $2,000 more.

I’m replacing my 83 inch c1 with the QM8 98 inch. Can’t wait!
Alright. You convinced me to get the qm851g in a 65 inch for its current sale price of $999. Can’t wait to pick it up

I was actually wrong sony is actually 3x the price 999x3=2999 the current price of the bravia 9💀...yikes
great video! by chance can you do an updated settings video on the TCL please? thanks Q
Is the referenced QM8 a huge upgrade over my 2022 Hisense U8H?
Great review! What are your thoughts on the qn900c 8k 85 inch?
If TCL keeps upping their game it won't be long before they enter the shootout
Do you plan to test out the Hisense U8N?
Please check the Hisense U8N with Bravo
Yes, the 65” U8N please! The 55” Quantum reviewed is different than the bigger sizes (shame on Hisense for doing that 😠).
@@lpromer4796 Different panel or what’s the difference between 55 and 65?

I Can't notice any difference both look fantastic on my Tcl 75 inch c 641 qled tv 🤔

Plz do comparison between tcl qm8 vs hisense U8N..?
It has to be the 65” because the 55” U8N Quantum reviewed already is different for some reason. Hisense used a less quality panel on the 55”
Can you do a TCL vs Hisense comparison
why not put which tv is which on the screen? People often talk about Sony like they do with iPhones, they think it's the best ever
I tell you at the start so felt unnecessary.

put some video content movies and real people where we can see the difference in videogames i liked TCL better
yea do streaming next want to see what the movies or shows on both tvs look like next to each other
Is it in game-mode or some other with higher input-lag?
Where is the tcl on sale at
Best Buy and Amazon
Maybe it's TCL that's criminal for selling their TVs for such a low price.
Lcd tech is old. Tcl is offering fair pricing

No, the tcl is the smart man’s bravia 9. The bravia 9 is what you purchase when you want to over pay
TCL can't chroma 4:4:4 in game mode, so it's the end for tcl this year.
Yeah TCL is a good deal, but for picture quality i could immediately tell Sony was on the right and that would bother me if I got the TCL
