It's 14K gold. That's what the client ordered.
Lol that's boss hancho type jewelry that's something the boss wears and just walks in the room with a -4 pound chain that fits perfect and doesn't look overboard at the same time I love that chain coming from a big dude

Never seen a gold chain made from scratch before. Cant lie, I wanted to cry a little bit when they put that file to it and started grinding it down 😳 I was pleasantly surprised to see the end result. Absolutely beautiful work. Great job
Thanks for clearing that up Adam.
@Adam Courchaine The final product does not look like rose gold. It looks like a standard yellow gold.

My grandfather when he was alive used to make jewelry. Mostly white gold and sterling silver pieces for Native American jewelry. Still have a old rollo, belcher chain he made and some belt buckles. From someone that knows a little, AMAZING WORK GUYS!
Thank you my friend, especially for sharing the story about your grandfather.

Cuban Link drinking game: Take a shot of Cuban rum when you see a blowtorch. Fantastic work, and an eye-opening process. There's so much artisan work going into this that many people take for granted.

It's interesting how of course 14k is percent based on weight but since gold is so much more dense, it takes up much less volume than i realized
Not only that, the gold get tainted too easy especially for 14k gold chain. Usually that happen when Tungsten is in the mixture.
@@ex-bahamutgamer8381 ain't nobody got the equipment to melt tungsten
@@felixlara2945 3,422 °C for melting tungsten. However ya don't need to melt tungsten when ya mixing in gold. Let just say a good flux can merge both together too well. There is saying: only get fooled once.

How does someone go about learning this art
books, videos, and apprenticeship. or if you wanna get real serious there are collages for jewlery making that can be anything from becoming a precious metal smith, a jeweler, watch smith, and gemologists. look around online and locally for places to learn more. theres a guy that teaches classes at a art institute where i live and he shows you how to recover gold and silver metal from plated items then make it into jewelry (usually a small ring or a setting for a small stone cus its not much) or with just sterling silver.
Just do it with other metals first to learn in your backyard
Not into jewelry but the craftsmanship was outstanding! Beautiful work
Man, as a welder-steelworker,, all the years I've worked with lengths of 6mm - 8mm steel round or reo bar that are worth a couple of bucks a length to the company, I'm just imagining working with metal bar that is probably worth at least $1,000Au per foot 😳! About the most expensive metal I've ever worked with in fabricating and welding is Titanium.
PS: Your scrap-bin isn't in the yard out the back of the workshop, is it? 😜

All of this money, time, and expert craftsmanship put into this chain, all so Logan Paul can hang a limited edition Charizard off of it at his next boxing match.
Who buys such chains, generally? Can a person wear them on a daily basis? I’m just curious. Not being sarcastic.
Big ones like that? Tends to be a symbol of wealth / hard work in the hip-hop community ( legal or otherwise).
It's also acts as a sort of silent threat / warning, in that, the person wearing an expensive chain like that openly ( especially in a bad neighborhood ) is very confident of their ability to maintain ownership of it because of their ability to exercise and use lethal force to do that.
Very much within the same mentality of the Spartan moto "molon labe", or "Come take it from me".
