I could sense the frustration you must have been feeling with the final Big Daddy in point Prometheus ;]. Recently got the PS4 remaster for Christmas (My Ps3 died about three years ago and I have missed playing this game), it was a joy to get back to ^^ Awesome run!
@@pentaleks I’ve gotten it down to 2:39:48! I don’t know if certain parts are doable on console (fort frolic fling, the geothermal control skip), plus the little sister in Proving Grounds sometimes decides to move super slow for no reason. But I’m still finding timesaves!
@@Nobody_nobodyy for me it's the nostalgia. Bioshock took me days to finish, but I can watch someone else play it in just a couple hours and I'll get all those lost memories back without having to play it for days myself. (I don't own the game anymore either so I can't even play it myself)
babbisp1 I'm not sure but I think this trick was already known when I started to speedrun this game back in 2014(?) and I just saw others runners doing it
@@pentaleks Yeah i found a 2009 segmented medical pavilion 2:55 speedrun by ExplodingCabbage where he used it so i think he's the first one. Thanks for the response
tI just played it and am playing through again on survivor again, but without vitachambers. I can't believe how well this game holds up. The combat and gunplay are tight for a game that doesn't need it. There are plenty of ways to tackle every situation, and the options the tonics give are almost rpg-esque. I like the fact that the environments are so detailed and atmospheric, and by not giving you a flashlight, they create the exact viewing experience they want for you. And I really like that there is no RUN button in the game. This means that the combat is extremely fine tuned to the speeds that you move at normally. There's just so much goodness to be had. If there was any gripe, it was that hacking something stops everything, meaning you can hack a Circus of Values while they fill you with hot lead, and restock on whichever hypos or ammo you need. The way they handled the sentry bots hacking in BS2 was much preferred. The hack is real-time.
Jake Jackson No because the amount of ADAM you get is not enough to buy all of them. Instead I use the little bit of extra ADAM to buy certain tonics that are too much out of the way in certain maps.
I think there should be some way to SAVE EVERYONE and GET EVERYTHING, but it requires you to find all the extra tonics and such to so. I know you can't get everything even with genocide but there should be enough to do this while saving everyone.
I don't know how to explain well but I hope you can understand through this picture imgur.com/a/kEiDd Edit: Oh, before you edit the splits you need to go to edit layout, click on the "+" > List > Subsplits
OK. I love this speed run a lot and am using it as a guide. However, there so many things that are different in the gameplay. First of I'm just playing on normal so that I can try the run, but he's killing enemies with one hit using the wrench while I'm getting my ass handed to me as I try to fight off the enemies with the wrench. Also, he guns the big daddies down so fast that it seems unrealistic. Also also he is killing people by throwing corpses at them. Am I missing something?? Am I going about it the wrong way?? Is it because I'm on normal?? Is it because he's on PC? Help a brotha out please. Again this run is awesome. Thanks
In the easy difficulty it's way easier to do damage using telekenisis. I have a hard mode any% speedrun that you can watch here, maybe you can find some tricks for fighting harder enemies in that one. Thank you for your comment. ua-cam.com/video/ubardc0t7Z0/v-deo.html
Each difficulty has a different category because in higher difficulties is almost impossible to do some of the fling skips 54:38, the fall damage kills you when you do it on Hard.
You should also be aware of the RNG overlord, to whom many, many a speedrunner prays to, well, almost religiously. His name is RNGeezus. Peace be upon him.
Thanks for not breaking the game I'm always pissed at those speed runners that break the game to buy some seconds to me your not playing the game and it should not count
I am a year late, in that case i would recommend 100% runs. Any% are full of out of bounds and glitches that some don't like. Personally i don't mind but i see your point
58:15 sander Cohen: Oh. That was quicker then I hoped.
No shit sander Cohen, he did it for the speed run.
when i first played bioshock it took me almost all night to get to neptune's bounty
We're did you get stuck

Awesome run!
SPOILERS FOR THIS GAME/SERIES BELOW
Imagine Fontaine's reaction to seeing Jack go this quickly through everything, already knowing what's up
I guess thats where the bioshock infinite ending comes in
This inspired me to try for myself, first completed run was a 2:56:36! How you did it almost an HOUR faster is beyond me…incredible work
Good run!! It's your first run, I'm absolutely sure you will improve it!

Awesome run man! My fastest all achievements speed-run is 3 hours 6 minutes on PS4...I’m going to be posting it very soon!

ty for the 100% guide
I've found it, the best speedrun ever!
i wonder if johnny knew that atlas was frank fountaine...
spoilers, dood. I know it's a 10 yo game, but still. It would be nice.
He did Neptune's bounty in 19mins.
Thats like 45mins to an hour for me.
Wouldn't 100% include getting 100% of the bonuses from pictures?
Hello pentaleks! May I ask who discovered that little buck trick at 17:26? Where did you see it first?

@@babbisp1 You're probably right. Sometimes glitches are found by non-speedrunners as well, either casual players or "glitch hunters"

How did you get your splits that way where the diaries and stuff are hidden

pentaleks thanks
pentaleks did you have to split manually after every audio diary, plasmid, and gene tonic, or was it done automatically
It was all manual. I think I used a footpedal at the time.

sharger93 oh wait... lol
sharger93 heh heh.
Why the choice of upgrades?
Holy shiet that was a fast run 😅❤
Ty so much
What difficulty is this?
It's easy.
Is there any sort of standard in the bioshock speedrun community with regards to difficulty?
Each difficulty has a different category because in higher difficulties is almost impossible to do some of the fling skips 54:38, the fall damage kills you when you do it on Hard.

Virtue OC Luck, or chance basically.
Random number... I am like 2 years late or something aren't I?
Canada drug crysis be like:
You spelled fin wrong, just pointing it out
I hope I can use this to get the platinum on ps4

I'm bad using it, but it's a great gun!
do you need all the tapes for 100%?
Yes! All audio diaries. all weapon upgrades, all plasmids, all tonics
ok thanks
you missed one on fort folic. once you open the secret passage. the one on the underground.
Io no entender taka taka
lul 100% for me isn't on easy xd
Daora xD
I'm assuming you're not aware that you can skip Arcadia and Fort Frolic altogether?

FutureScopeX Ah, right. That makes sense, thanks.
@@FutureScopeX well... he needs little sisters
another easy mode speedrun
The ending makes me think this game was made by a female. The big strong buff god like man was killed by a bunch of little girls.
