I very audibly lol’d when I heard that lol. Just found this guys channel within the last week or two, love this kind of content. Finally someone incessantly poking fun at collecting all this dumb shit we accumulate for whatever fucking reason instead of acting like we use them as a green beret or 007.
You might not be Nick but you two are the most watchable knife guys on the internet. Which might be damning with faint praise but it wasn’t meant to be. 😂
Shabazz is a cautionary tale of getting into watches. AKB is a cautionary tale of getting into traditionals. Bothe are expensive and all consuming habits.
I enjoy and respect your reviews because you speak your mind and don't capitulate to the emotions of knife companies or anyone else for that matter. Please keep up the great work for those of us who want a real, hilarious, honest, in-depth, no B.S. opinion. I would suffice it to say that if you keep "telling it like it is" companies will be asking you for your opinion in due time. Thank you for choosing not to appropriate the phrase "walk and talk." If you like GEC's so much why don't you marry them, merp. Salute.
I don´t know if it was the excitement of the car review video or the new razor sharp Opinal number 9 knife but I was wandering around my local wood waving the pointy thing like you taught me to. I was searching out a small branch to ruin the new knife with when I remembered a ´how to make a bonsai´ video I had recently watched. I was standing looking at a tree I was going to bonsai, fiddling with my knife, open close open close. I sliced the top of my finger off. Sting? Yes it did. The phrase of the day was in the emergency room where the nurse said Oooh! you have lost a little tissue off the top.' I did not need anesthetic as I fainted.....
I've missed your videos lately, so happy you put another one out, and as a 25 year vet THANK YOU for what you do! You really make great videos (and I get your humor) :)
It's incredibly obvious from the visuals and crisp snaps that this knife is BEAUTIFULLY made for a traditional Barlow. Using the Wave can opener for bottles works best if you lift from the side of the cap.
Your irreverent reviews are great fun. I don't know what a reverent review would be from you because I don't think you've ever done one. You seem to gravitate to two kinds of knives, big ass choppers, and various sometimes off-the-wall folders. Maybe you'd enjoy doing a review of a Brisa Nessmuk. It would be a change for you. I could tell you all about it, but then who would need your review?
If you ever get the chance (hell if i even manage to get one ill send it your way for you to try a bit) could you review the Schatt & Morgan #10 Rooster Knife?
That's a handsome knife, Mr. AdvancedKnifeBro, if I may be allowed to use such a culturally-volatile adjective. I would enjoy using it while monitoring my several bird feeders and bird bath.
Congrats on the 85! The cherry bone is the best looking one. I may get the stag caplifter. I have 2 shufflers, a warhorse, and a Stag swayback. Quality is topnotch on all of them!
I have the swayback Viper from CK identical to the one you introduced at 8:24 in the exact burl wood and I can attest that the pull is....somewhat firm....alright damn near a thumbnail shredder...but I’m a sucker for a sharp wharncliff blade and this one is the bee’s knees. Beyond that the ‘birdseyes’ in the burl wood covers take me back to my pipe smoking days back in the days when holding a flaming wooden bowl of carsinogins in front of your face was a thing. Good times....
Dude I'd take this knife in a second after stopping collecting for 2 years but only if they added a flipper simaler to Cuttlery lovers Barlow design it's just beautiful but I do need quick access working in construction and my nails are getting week these days.
Great review man! I don't own any Lionsteels yet, but I'm really loving the Lionsteel Gitano, and think it'll be my first one. Plus, every single version of that knife is available for sale at BladeHQ, so you don't have to deal with any 2 minute window buying bullshit to score one of these limited runs. More slipjoint reviews! And just for the record, I loved your Suburu review! I really wanted you to get stuck on that snowy road.
Love this just bring more use out of a pocket knife. I’ve been looking for a locking Barlow for ages and can’t find none. (I have seen them pop up, but I’m shocked how hard it is to find them.) Then I’m also looking for a traditional British made knife too, but some of them are little to pricey for what they are offering. I really like tradition knives that are one handed opening, and Case seems to be the only company offering that, or is that wrong? And I like a slip joint with a strong back spring, finger choil and one handed opening. Just to make it as safe as possible, and as hard to close as possible too. Cant find one that’s just right. And those pocket slips with the clip, are they still made I contacted a few places and didn’t get any response? Any tips on where I could get custom thumbstuds, deep carry clips, metal scales and how to change the color of some parts on knives? Or how hard is it to mod a knife and put a finger choil on it? Sorry a lot of questions, just can’t find much help on the subject.
I hated doing them. They wore out one of my cameras. Also usually the shitty comments roll in on old videos. First few days or weeks the comments are pretty positive. Sometimes there are shit ones though.
Another video without a batoning segment. You know, if you batoned more non-locking blades, you would have way more cool looking scars on your fingers!
What is your favorite Benchmade EDC? 3 years ago you said it was the "mini crooked river" and you asked subscribers to ask you in 6 months... how about 3 years?.. please respond, or I'll absolutely lose my shit...
@@AdvancedKnifeBro yeah, I hear that. It does look sweet. I'd just want more tools. Have you ever seen a Roethlisberger? They were the only other company besides Victorinox and Wenger to make swiss soldier's knives, and they also made a few officer's knives. This was like back in the 50s or 60s. Anyway they still make knives today, like traditional swiss farmer's knives, with their own blade, but the other tools are cannibalized from SAKs. Super speciality, unique, etc. Hey you should review one! You don't mind shelling out 200 euros for a custom folding knife with an interesting backstory, right?
Maybe I'm just an old man yelling at clouds (I am) but I absolutely refuse to play any preorder/lottery/F5 jackhammering games to buy a knife. I don't mind paying for a quality knife that I like, but if I have to know a guy who knows a guy, or pay an ebay scalper's fee, or register on some website for the chance to buy a knife, I'm instantly not interested. I have never seen a knife that was worth expending that much effort.
Nice review as always but seriously a Victorinox Super Tinker is even more socially acceptable, piece of piss to sharpen has loads more uses and cost nothing. It's not as pretty but get some titanium scales of AliExpress for $15.
[Lifts cap] "M'lady"
This ones going to the top

When I need to lift a cap I wave-open two Talwar XLs and on the upswing I saber the bottle into 3 pieces. Soda just tastes better this way.
Amazing to see another review so soon.
They are afraid of the gray man.
Was wondering about gray man comment can you expand? Polly island by chance?

I really appreciate the arrow notification. I had no idea what that red thing was.

That walnut looked more like Olive wood, nice looking knife.
Olive ain’t even a choice. I dunno- it’s technically a prototype. So maybe?
@@AdvancedKnifeBro yea, with it being a prototype they could have put any wood on it.
I guess it’s olive, walnut is darker, isn’t it?
Nice vid btw.

Thank you so much for this video. I am just now getting into traditionals, and this hit right on time. #22aday
