Thanks to a few people who suggested other weapons, I've tested the leaderboard, with Phantasm for Ranged, Blade Staff for Summoner and the Razorpine for magic! - Here are the results!
To everyone asking - yeah, I tried the Chaingun! - I ended up getting a faster time with the Phantasm, so that time is listed here. :)
1 - Ranged (Phantasm) - 3:04

For those who haven’t seen the wiki entry in the Zenith, it ignores invulnerability frames of targets and allows it to hit more often

Tip: Summoner is unable to deal critical strike, so reforging for crit chance is useless
EOL whip allows crits.

To anyone who doesn’t know; the last prism doesn’t “randomly stop”, after about a minute of firing the weapon stops shooting a beam but continues to use mana if the attack button is held down

@@Amazing-bw3qf that wouldn’t matter. The damage was being nerfed yes, but since you were already only doing 1 damage per hit or 2 on crits it wouldnt have changed anything

Just saying the most viable summon weapon for this guy is probably Blade Staff. It ignores I frames and has a very fast attack rate.

It seems they more so went for the pinnacle of each class’s weapons instead of the ones with highest dps (because I don’t think any of these except maybe zenith or SDMG are actually the best choices)
For example, life drain would be a much better magic weapon, and if you REALLY wanna test the limits of dungeon guardian slaying, you would use multiple weapons and wear better armor suited for this fight specifically

@@aben1466 but the Blade Staff attacks faster, despite having lower base damage. It's the D.G., you want attack speed over base damage because everything is gonna do one damage anyway
For the summoner, it would’ve been better to use the blade staff minions because they pierce defense and attack very quickly

I love how every class has a cool weapon with amazing animations and clever names. and then there's ranger that has a f*cking dolphin with a barrel shoved down its throat for an end-game weapon.

It also has a rocket launcher that shoots fire works ever where as another end game weapon but I find dolphin skin increases damage
The fastest way to defeat dungeon guardian as ranger normally is actually the phantasm with luminite arrows, it’s significantly faster. Starlight is a great somewhat decent ranged melee weapon too.

@@joosepher9435 I mean sure but when your melee you don't need to dodge just use your weapon since it has a lot of defense and it's not just about dodge the problem with summoner is one simple mistake and your dead and ofc there will be mistakes like no body's perfect and other mobs would also attack you so summoner has really low defense mistakes can mean dead. That's why people saying it's weak it's not all about power or dodging it's just that it doesn't have much power, and not much defense that's why.
The thing about classes is that
Melee needs a lot of defense and Health
Ranged needs tons of money for ammo
And Mage needs shit ton of mana
But the summoner you can just chill letting the minions do their thing or sometimes whip them but summoner class is the hardest way to get weapons..
That's true! The developers seem very good at balancing pros and cons of each class :)
If you're in endgame, Melee is superior than all of theese classes.
Ranger for having long ranged weapons but then there's the Zenith with higher damage, bigger hitbox and also has long range.
Summoner sucks because you have to sacrifice lots of defense for more minions so that you can get some damage. While the Melee class doesn't have to sacrifice anything.
Mages is alright, having the Last Prism as it's Endgame weapon but then again the Zenith can get through the walls unlike the Last Prism.
Overall the Melee has the highest Defense and DPS.

Fun fact: Even if you had 100% cr, minions can't crit, they can if you have the Empress of light summoner weapon, but only with 10% cr

Morning star whip also causes 5% crit for minions on hit.
For Magic you should have used something like the Razorpine and for Ranged using crystal bullets would have helped a lot.
due to the defense of the dungeon guardian any ranged bullet would like the same damage as normal attack 1 and strong attack 2 would in that case he chose the chlorophyte bullets as it would do
Since it would do the same damage but with a buff that the bullets follow the enemy
Luminite bullets ignore immunity frames and phantasm deals twice the dps

Melee and summoner are my favorite classes so it was good to see them do so well
For summoner you should use a different whip btw, since the whips dmg likely won't change having summon tag damage won't help either, something like the firecracker or cool whip would work better because of there special effects.
Edit: also, use a blade staff, it has ridiculously fast hit speed
Edit 2: if you used the fire cracker and the morningstar/kaleidoscope then your summons will deal crits and have the fire crackers special effect.

Melee is using the other 3 classes basically because the Zenith is just a weapon where you summon flying magical swords that are ranged

Relogic should make its damage class less, so all bonuses affect it, because zenith is forcing everyone to be melee
@@copperbroadsword5303 um no the zenith can only be used after the game is beaten so it doesn’t “force” you to be melee at all and I think it’s a good thing they put an op weapon for after you’ve beaten the game.

For ranged a phantasm with bone arrows is the fastest way I've found, since the bone arrows break on impact into more damaging fragments

@@bobtheanimator8353 still needs to wait a long time since it takes all the mana when you dont use mana crystals, also the natural regen have delay, so the best is using potions or crystals, rather than waiting for the regen

for ranger, phantasm with venom/luminite arrows is my go-to. pair with a fast fire rate and the arrows, phantom arrows, and potentially the luminite after-arrows SHRED

About summoner: The morning star actually gives critical hit chance to summons, which could definitely speed it up, and you can actually stack summon tags by using multiple whips, basically making the summons shred enemies into dust particles. I think that using several whips could make the summoner come in first.
You can use the Dark Harvest Whip for the Insane attack speed raise (and bezerker gloves for the autoswing plus even more whip speed)and the Kaleidoscope - it whips as fast as the dark Hervest and gives your minions 10% crit chance instead of the 5% of the morning star.
Thats how i did the fight anyways
And the blade staff summon (the one that looks like scissors) since that one has an insane amount of dps against one enemy

When I played on like 1.3 I found that the Betsy bow(I think the Aerial Bane or smth)was pretty good for killing DG but that might’ve been cause I never actually timed it.
Remember that if you use solar armor and the zenith. With accessories that allow you to dodge and more defence you can easily make a mistake and survive. I survived a hit from it with 10 hp and got out of there quickly. Also if you look at your character in the choose character screen the dungeon guardian pet will start spinning. And ufo mount is same speed going left or right dungeon guardian and is faster than it going up or down.
If you want to kill the dungeon guardian as a warrior, I recommend using the ufo mount, not the wings.

@@josephjoestar953 iirc it's as fast as broom, and I know for a fact that broom is more than enough to outpace the Guardian (cries in no room for wings because summoner).
Edit: broom is actually faster than ufo and ufo is just as fast as the Guardian, but it still can overspeed the Guardian if you fly diagonally.
a warrior? using the ufo wouldnt make you a warrior itd make you lazy and a wuss because you wouldnt risk ramming into a hill.

Good ol 1.2/1.3 times when it was weak to frostburn...cheesed so many guardians during that time, you could easily kill one in the beginning of the game and the pet was so cool to own

I kinda wanna see the melee class paired with the summoner class. The melee was still faster but have the minion do consistent damage as well. I get the whole individuality part but it would still be nice to see the difference with the two classes combined. I’m not skilled enough to do it myself or even have the patience for it, but I’d watch it.
Stack speed whips, then get a conventional sword like star wrath, or Terra blade probably would do it
I feel like phantasm would be better than sdmg vs the guardian since it shoots pretty fast already and there's energy arrows which just doubles it.

That's a good question, I think they were changed in 1.4, so perhaps they're slower now!

As summoner you probably should have used stardust dragon for one slot. I'm pretty sure 3 segment stardust dragon hits faster than 1 terraprisma, though you 100% do not need to use just the stardust dragon, as it doesn't have local i frames
The laser for Last Prism stopping "randomly" is because there was a 1 minute limit before 1.4, and then it went up to 10 minutes, but there is still a limit to continous fire weapons.

I would recommend to use soaring insignia because it gives an infinite flight for all wings. But for that you need an expert or master mode. And you didn't reforge the terraprisma
On the zenith slower attack speed actually makes you throw out more swords per swing making it better than faster speed
4:10 summons actually can't do critical hits at all, with the only exception of "summon tag critical strike chance" for some whips.
Hey just a tip to anyone interested to speed it up a tiny bit more, reforge your accessories to lucky, getting the crit as often as possible (combined with high fire rate) is key.
Unless you're summoner.

-There are two whips that add critical chance to summons: kaleidoscope and morning star, adding 10 and 5% chance respectively
-Acessories only boost the critical chance for the whip attacks (sadly)
The ranger part (fastforward) feels like you're taking the dungeon guardian for a walk
next it's gonna be testing all classes but with weaker weapons, flinch staff for summoner, enchanted sword for warrior, sparkling staff for mage and flintlock pistol for ranged, after these tests, we can test how long it'll take to kill it with copper shortword and a hoik.
The chain gun would probably be better for ranged comboed with the chlorophyte bullets

I know why the Last Prism was so weak: Invulnerability Frames.
For those who don't know what Invulnerability Frames are, they are frames which something can't be damaged. How does this apply? Because if a projectile doesn't pierce, it hits and that's it. BUT if the projectile DOES pierce (like the beam from the Last Prism), then the target gets Invulnerability Frames for 1/6 of a second. So yea, that's why the beam didn't hit that much.

The prism has a use time. Once it runs for that amount of time, it stops. Much like the drill mount

i don’t want to brag but i somehow got it in ten rolls. i was on kinda a lucky streak that day tho bc i beat my first moon lord with my friend, and then we killed 3 more and in those 4 fights i got both swords

2:02 the last prism hogs manna so even with mana flower the potion sickness overlaps, it looks like you hit 10 seconds there which would be a 100% decrease in damage, so maybe they make it stop firing.
chaingun can be used other than sdmg because it has a higher rate of fire. not sure about the crit chance though, but I'm sure equipment can account for that

Hey, a little tip for magic users, definitely use the laser machine gun, dropped from the mothership in the Martian invasions
Tip to defeating it faster in journey mode:
God mode-
Slime mount-
A lot of beenades-
Use the mount on top of the guardian at the dungeon and watch it die slowly
Tip for beating it in one of the older versions of the game

Rapid Chaingun would probably be the fastest for ranger.
Rapid chaingun with cristal bullest is the best quick dps weapon
Phantasm is the best one, it destroys dg on normal mode in 1 minute!
With the dungeon guardian nothing matters exept speed so just get the fastest weapon in the game
@@theeguy9022 that fastest weapon is phantasm with luminite arrows. not only do you shoot 2 sets of 4 arrows extremely fast but with the phantasm each normal arrow that hit spawns 2 or 3 more arrows that are, i guess you could say, heat seeking

How far we've come from the days of having to circle around lava for 2 hours
funny how I used to consider these fights imposible without cheesing(dungeon guardian and daytime eol) but with endgame gear u just need to have patience with the dungeon guardian when u noticed he is not as fast as u remember and u just need to rain down all the damage u can as fast as u can on eol so u don't really need to learn to dodge, just her first attacks which are quite easy and u just got some drops that u once thought were "ooh exclusive and for the pros only"

Interesting fact: With the right tools, Summoner can defeat Daytime EoL pretty quickly
with obsidian armor and summon accsesories all with menacing!

@@grate9 He used Solar Wings [Which I think nebula wings are better due to it sharing movement like the hoverboard] they are end-game wings from the solar pillar. Shield of Cthulu is a shield obtained from killing Eye of Cthulu in Master Mode, and gives you a dodge ability. Spectre boots are kind of like Hermes boots, but quite a bit better, theres actually a lot of boots you can get and spectre is not a totally bad one but theres better. Then the Mana Flower, which uses Mana potions for you.

For ranger, you could've used the Chain Gun. It has a faster fire speed than the S.D.M.G since DPS doesn't matter, and chlorophyte bullets can help with the huge spread for the Chain Gun

I'll explain all the classes
Melee: swords with projectiles
Ranged:needs more prehardmode armour
Mana: most the weapons you need to grind for
Summoner: needs more hard mode armour

Melee is just ranged but free infinite ammo that can be used easily upclose for the small price of a little bit smaller range. It also looks significantly cooler with all the lights instead of a repeating sound with no visual effects
I think they should add a zenith staff, zenith gun, and zenith whip so that melee isn't OP compared to the other 3
You forget the other classes are OP compared to Melee for the majority of the playthrough.

I know this was long ago but I agree. It’s unfair that melee gets the best weapon. Also these test aren’t an accurate display of damage as it’s more of a display of amour penetration and I’ve noticed a lot of people not knowing that.

Did a prediction before vid started that melee would be scourge of corruptor, mage razorpine, ranged SDMG, and summonor blade staff. I'd defo use Razorpine with attack speed modifiers to greatly cut down that, and blade staff for summoner.
Razorpine with spectre armor as well to give more damage per each hit

Honestly flaron, the Duke fishron drop is really good for this

Crystal bullets + sdmg is the best choice for ranged, as the shards also do 1 damage.
Fun fact: best summon weapon for dungeon guardian is the blade staff
And ranged weapon is the chaingun from Santa NK I think.
