I was raised in a very strict Christian home. My parents did not like this band, not because it was bad music, but because they thought it led to the "Bad" hard rock of those days. My mom finally came around and even took me to my first concert to see Petra at Astroworld in Houston. They were exactly what i needed in my life at that time. Its amazing ive not heard these songs in almost 40 years and still know most of the words. Love it
This song is one of those rare songs for me that start out "not bad", and after a while become "pretty good", until finally I suddenly realize I love it so much that I can't stop listening to it. This is my personal favorite Petra song of all time, just above "Stand in the Gap". Such AWESOME music. There will never be another Petra.
Fortaker i love this song too so much, its my favorite in this album too, i love god and jesus so much, their my best friends, im proud to be called a child of god a true believer and a true born again christian, this song makes me cry everytime, because of my strong faith and hope in god and jesus, if u can hear this father god, i love u and cant wait to be in heaven with u one day, im truely saved by the blood of jesus christ which cleanses me from all sin, i will praise u and serve your beautiful and wonderful name forever on this earth, i have nothing to fear because my perfect heavenly father is always with me, my life will always be perfect and i will enjoy life all the more, im 21 yrs old and also as a true follower of jesus christ, this song gets me everytime because its true, the emotion i feel when i think about my hero and my perfect friend and lord and savior jesus christ being crucified where golgotha is, im forced to watch this happen to him and i cry everytime i see him crucified, this song brings so many tears to my eyes, its true, my friends, god is helping me as his child to get through the hurts of this life, i know i may not be perfect, but there is victory in christ jesus name, thank u jesus for dying for my sins, i was incredibly sad listening to this song, i know god has prepared a great future for me and a great plan for my life, plz let ur will be done in my life instead of my will, god bless u friend:)
Agreed...They remind me a bit of Kansas and/or Duran Duran.
Thank God for Petra. Helped me get through my teen years listening to good Christian music and uplifted my heart and ministered to my soul.

When this album came out, it seemed to be going in a different direction than the previous two albums (my first exposure to Petra was "More Power to Ya") and I didn't know what to think of it. It wasn't rock and roll (with a biblical message), it was...something else. I didn't dislike it, just wasn't sure what box to put it in, and when you're a teenager, everything needs to fit in boxes. I'm now in my 50s and appreciate it more than I ever have. It is well crafted music with a biblical message.
the keys in this song are sublime. John Lawry is criminally underrated.

Don't forget Bob Hartman on the guitar. Truly one of the best Christian guitarists of all time. He also wrote most if not all of Petra's songs.

James Edgar yup it sure is, it definitly speaks the truth about who god is, and one day as a true child of god that is already saved by the blood of jesus if i live to be 85 yrs old and pass away peacefully, i will be able to meet the perfect creator and judge who will judge me for everything i ever did in my life, but also as a true born again christian and believer whos already accepted jesus christ as my lord and savior, i wont be judged harshly but then again u never know, god bless u friend and see u in heaven:)

Petra definitely did a great job with their choice of singers. Greg Voltz was right for their early songs, and John Schlitt was excellent for the latter years.

The guys in Petra had tremendous talent, and if they had left Jesus out, they could have been one of the most popular rock bands of the late twentieth century. But they made Jesus their main focus, which was a far better choice. I can't wait to meet all the people who will be in heaven because the Holy Spirit used Petra to bring them to Jesus!

Creed and Voice in the wind is my all time favourite. I saw Petra live in Cape Town, South Africa after I already knew there music. It was special in the right way. Awesome awesome

Such an INCREDIBLE band.
I was lucky to see them 2xs at Creation festival in Pa,
but it was sadly after Greg left the band.
This was the BEST album Petra had done, and after 20 years it is stil speaking to our hearts.
May anyone that listens to these words be led to the saving grace that is Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the Father.

The greatest Christian Rock Band ever, been listing to them since the late 70’s. The music stirs my heart more in my late fifties than as a teenager!! Jesus has been the love of my life since I was a young boy, love him more now than ever! Jesus is Lord of all!!
Songs like this represented a great spirituality on the part of Petra and represented a time in Christianity when people believed in a God who was natural...like the wind as opposed to a burdensome call upon our lives.
Sons of Abraham RT petra is one of my favorite christian bands along with david meece, white heart and of course idle cure, they are the best christian band ever, and this song is also my favorite, makes me really happy to know that they love god and jesus too and have a positive message about them, im 21 yrs old and im a true born again christian believer and child of god, i love god and jesus so much? I know how it is and what you are talking about, because I've experienced it too.
There is more to knowing God than just a feeling, like a breeze of air. It is understanding who you are, why you are here, and where you are going. God answers these questions and tells you that you are special. He gives you purpose and reveals that there is more to life than just living until you die. There is purpose for your life while you are on earth and God is waiting for you on the other side.

Petra is Greek for rock. It refers both to the style of their music and to Jesus, Who is the Rock of Ages.
