Wow, even the Florida bugs have track marks! Thought it was just the junkies. 🤣
Can confirm those Eagle Abrasive papers are top notch. I’ve bought a few packs now for restoring headlights. By far the best fine grit sand paper I’ve ever used!
Glad you like them!
I like this type of video where you are doing your normal workflow. I imagine you rarely only do one job at a time.
Best Video for long time. Love the daily work. I learned alot Thanks
Thanks for the detail and ease in your explanations. I hope you know how much better your videos are due to your positive attitude and drive to teach others. It is one thing to teach something, but it is another to be passionate about it. Thanks sir.
I appreciate that!
Love the level of detail in your videos
I low key thought you were about to Spit some soda on something after watching you take that swig. My heart dropped 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
GOOD JOB MAN
Hahaha too big to let out of my mouth
😂😂😂😂
Brian, love you man! 😂
I love your explanation (sounds so easy to do it), the way you’re showing us all the tips & tricks in painting. Wanna say huge THANK YOU FOR YOR TIME AND EFFORT TO EDUCATE US! God bless you! 🙏
God bless right back to you. Thank you so much for watching.
nice video. what are your thoughts on using tape to pull a clear run while it's still wet?
Great video young man! Get yourself one of the small infrared heat lamps to use in these situations. Not only will it be faster it will also be more cost effective by NOT having to crank up the heat in the booth. And infrared lamps cure the paint from the inside out which will help you when trying to correct these types of issues. Infratech has some good ones . If you want one of the big boys check out the ones made by IRT. Cheers , William
such helpful advice! thank you for sharing
Ok that clarifies it for me. I also keep trying to do long full panel strokes and my clear isnt consistent. Seeing how you break it up like that really makes it easier for consistent spray. Thanks heaps!😊
Just a thought. You could always get a gopro style camera with a head mount to free your hands up. Thanks for all the tips. Fun to watch even though I don't have a booth and rattle can most jobs.
I got my Tiguan back from what is supposed to be one of the best body shops around, and my paint had dog hair, gnats, dirt & runs in it. It also looks dingy & cloudy.
I love these great tip vids. It's all the important things that pro painters do to get the job done right, that an idiot like me would never work out, so I'd end up working twice as hard and still not get it right. I'm going to repair and paint three cars in the next few weeks and these videos have given me everything I need to do the job right! Thank You!
Awesome ty for the feedback!
Perfect advice for me Thankyou! Even similar paint to what I’ll be doing my boat with. Cheers
I've got one of the Santa suits coming from Colad! Funny you mentioned the bugs.. I turned around just now to find a damn bug in my primer. Thankfully it had flashed and he left no trails, but I've been down that road before on this car..
I finish guitars with water based clear coat and sealer and I learn a lot from your videos! 😊
That's great!
The RSX is glowing. Nice job Brian. Always enjoy your videos and the time you spend explaining. Jupina is an awesome pick me up when you need a little kick. The RDX came out awesome. Enjoy the weekend.
Hey thanks Jim! 😀
Oh yeah I've had to paint outside quite a few times. Definitely had bugs land on the job
Brian I was looking to get your paint suit but it says it won't deliver to the UK I'm from northern Ireland would there be any way to sort this? Would you have any stickers or other merch would love some for my tool box at the shop thanks!
I’ve gotten to the habit that I do that on every job in the first coat of base.. hard blow it and retack it. HUGE difference.
Great video. That bug trick will come in handy in the spring. I plan on painting my truck and even though it’ll be indoors, it’ll get a bug in it. My last one did and I wish I had seen this video before I painted it. It would have taken a little less time. No complete do overs on a panel.
Glad to help. Hope this works out on the next job!!
would love to see some videos catered to painting in the coming colored temps!
I enjoyed this episode. Thanks Brian!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What brand clear coat do you use/recommend for daily insurance jobs?
75 is a warm night in PA. 😂
Got a question for you. What grit sandpaper should I use to sand my primer down before I spray a blue metallic?😊
So Brian I’ve been watching since you were in your home made plastic spray both in your mom’s garage and appreciate all of the knowledge you share! I have a question I’m doing my first base clear job and it’s two tone my problem I believe will be getting all the masking done and remasking for the clear in the times I have to work with! Can I come back the following weekend and scuff my base with a 600-800 paper and have good adhesion. What causes the clear to start popping off , I’ve seen a lot of vehicles with this going on and don’t want to be one of them? Thanks for your professional input!
You can scuff it but you need to apply base again because it will distort the base if you scuff it. I would just clear it and then come back and scuff the clear
@@PaintSociety Thank you , I was trying to avoid hard lines between my two colors I guess I’ll have to find a way to get it all before I lose the chemical bond timeline.
I'm sprayer U are amazing job how can I get access to work with you am in Saudi Arabia and I'm from Ghana
do you have any videos on clear blends?
"It's cold here, 75°" 😅😅
What grit do you use to sand off the uv putty?
I noticed you didn’t use clear coat blender on the a pillar? I pint boats but I use the blender a lot doing rework
Looking good 👍 thanks for the great tips!!
🍕 pizza is a bonus !
Thanks for watching shawn!
I love black! But Mazda soul red is a close runner up!
Brian did you get to try that supernova series 2? My paint rep brought it down I love but quick question. As a rookie should I go out and buy an expensive gun? Or do you think I should stick with something in the 4-500$ price range
Not yet released yet here in the states !
Do you find going to the tailgate edge where it meets the quater panel on both coats darkens the original colour? Great video 👍
It can yes
Is the "Eastwood Gray Epoxy Primer and Sealer" listed in your amazon online store, a true sealer? No sanding before base coat?
You have to reduce it 20%
What model light are you using to cure the UV putty?
Was that fender in sealer or base coat on the blue car ? That color was way off but blended well
I explained this in the video
Dropped 4 hours and be gave 2 customers a quality repair on top of other prep work and a burnt pizza to boot; that’s a pretty good production run.
Ty!!
Your videos are great!
When priming a car for a metallic paint job grit sandpaper should I use?
Hey Mike, im not nor ever be Brians caliber.. i bet he’d say 600-800… For a way more uniform/consistent finish. Id sand with 800 ( me id do nice large grey scuff bad.. PRIMER SEALER it then you dont sand again .. just tack rag off followed by base then clear. Or do single stage.. whT ever your shootn
If your doing smart blend/ rattle can ( i do them all time)..and sealer is not needed/ used. I think u can fimish with 1000
Been loving your videos however I have a question I haven't seen asked or answered.... I had a Celica 2002 it was a dark metallic silver (not the standard cheap looking silver). I'm the UK I believe it was called "Thunder Grey". It wasn't a common colour however EVERY celica in this colour has the same issue. The front bumper always looked like it was matching the wings and bonnet (hood) until you viewed it from a certain angle. Then the paint looked more bronze metallic. Why is this? I presumed it was because the bumper was plastic and not metal. How can you ensure the bumper colour matches the body? I've seen similar issues with several other standard non damaged new cars. ❤
Different materials, and sometimes different angles metallics will reflect themselves differently, giving a different shade or appearance, completely normal.
How soon can you buff the car after a fresh paint and clear coat?
Love these video,s
Your coat looks like prop from :" I know what you did last summer". 😁 But boy, do you make great content?!
Brian, you have helped me more than I could put into words,Thank You!! I always have to paint before 5 PM it seems to call in the bugs after 5 pm!!
Ty so mych!
You said it correct jupiña
I think I’m graced by the dear Lord because I haven’t had a bug land in any wet materials during a paint job in years even though I paint in a Harbor Freight carport. Never once have I not tacked a panel and not regretted it. You’ll be burying nibs with clear.
First rule to avoid bugs, don’t ever paint at night because you will have bugs
Or during the day…😉
Day or night rain or shine
sometimes when I am painting silver I do 2 medim to wet coat over sealer then I let dry real good then hit it with like 1500 wet then keep going some time it works real good other time I don't wait long enough n get in trouble 😂😂I ( I know I am inpatient watching paint dry)
Somtimes I like to brush touch those chips that are away from the blend.
Yes. It does work. Im going to try my best to fix as many as i can with the uv
@@PaintSociety the uv seems to work great. I liked the Paint Society pizza review 🤣
I got burned on Toyota 3R3 about a week or two ago. Front door off the car, blend fender and rear door. Looked like full coverage....untill body guy hung the door on the vehicle lol
I’ll use the scotch as a interface pad
I always said it isn't a problem if you can correct it
i think i saw a water drop fall from the ceiling at 9:04 at least it looked like it , would suck if it landed on the clear
Nope 😀
Ive seen spiders land in fresh clear. I swated a big fat fly in booth it bounced off clear. It left pieces of wings and fuzz behind.😡😡🤣🤣🤣grrrr painter problems🤣🤣😂😂😡😡
Brian for president of usa🎉
I agree on the pizza as well... little tooo crispy
They never usually do it like this. Well within my right to ask for a new one
Hey Brian, can you title your vids so that people can understand at first glance what the video is about (I saw the first thumbnail) because I plan on painting car parts and want to make things right and respond to every problems that could happen with your videos and searching for the right information is becoming a little bit hard with so many videos
problem is sandmark its hard to cover
75% is a hot summer day here in wv lol
Can holding the gun to close cause problems because I see you have a pretty good distance
Metallics end up with stripes like zebra if gun is to close . I did that as an amater , now my car wont go near zoo.
Great job by a master.👍👍👍❤️
am i the only one who was disappointed when he said the suit will Not say Brian when he mentioned it in the very first vid about it?? My paint prayers have been answered.
Lol i read the comments from last video lol.
that open blen in the seal panel, maximum 3 months and it will become very noticeable for a professional job, it is better to blend the complete quarter panel! But if the client is what they pay, oh the insurance is what they want!! What else can we do
You talking about the panel above the door where the clear is blended? I was wondering about that.
Yes, in a few months it will be noticed, where the original clear and the new clear begin, it is advisable to put clear on the entire panel, but the insurance companies or clients do not want to pay extra for the work, the painter does what the estimate says, It does not mean that the painter is doing something wrong, his work is excellent.
Brian, I see u are overlapping like 90% on passes. Why so much while a run will be expected?
On the hood around 80/90 everything else 75%
I've had lizards run across fresh Imron on the last coat
I’m really surprised to see that greasy pizza in the prep/paint area
I know. Should have been in my stomach.
@@PaintSociety 😊I guess I should have started by saying how much I enjoy watching your videos. I’ve learned a lot from you and others over the years.
@@WildWestGarage thank you. Not sure if mini or fan of this video style but I enjoy doing it, thanks for watching it so long.
I feel your pain times 4
Pizza didn't look to shabby
I know someone that makes bigger ones. Thought about ya when i record that lol
Hello Brian, I remind you of my request😢
idk man that metallic black blend seemed preeettttttty unnecessary lol
Haha
👍
🏎
Good morning, sorry to bother you, but I repeat my request regarding translation into Polish..😢
Ok no problem i will check it out
I only eat small sized Pizza, thick base, Has to be burnt around the edges. That's properly cooked.
I like the 'Ol school "Aussie". Tomato, Cheese, Ham, Bacon, Egg, and I add Salami.
