I think making the “scent package” of the set the way you are going is a great idea - you don’t want your trap to stand out -scent wise from the rest of the area - good stuff man
great video I've been Trapping for yrs I bed with salt to keep from freezing but I like the hammer the dirt against the jaws Great thinking outside the box
Hey Jake Thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate your quick reply thanks very much and I agree quality is better than quantity don’t care I’ll be watching your videos.
How much wax do you use for say a five gallon bucket of sand? I'm just going to load up 5 gallon buckets and dump it on a tarp and spread that wax over it, i've heard different opinions of how much.
Hey Jake how many sets do you make an a good day. How many sets do you make in an average day. How many sets do you make in a poor day. Thanks for getting back to me
I'm a little over confident in making sets but I have had my hand cought several times though. you just can't be scared and hold the jaws when your packing in the dirt to bed the trap.
+Heith Gagnon you just cast be scared. But that's why my hand is holding down the jaws while l am pounding the ground. I have got my hand a time or two.

Thanks, excellent point. (Dont get in a hurry. )
If you form your trap bed correctly, you don't need to do all that work, and peat will work. You don't need a big dug up area.

About a cup or 2 just depends on the soil you use. It will look wet when its good
great video and description
How did you do this year Jake ? I hauled off my pelts 3 weeks ago , I heard they cancelled the first auction. All the Lots will be sold in March.

I go for quality not quantity. A bunch of crappie sets that freeze up don't pay in the end game. A good day 12/15 a bad day 6.
Great video but I agree with Heith about your fingers. ha ha. Will be trying waxed dirt this fall for the first time as nothing else works.

Super nice set...
I like what I see but I would be worried about hitting that trap and setting it off...Nice set...

Yep, you get too loose around your traps you get zapped. Everybody has gotten their fingers in one.
Hammer them Yotes!! God bless.
if your scared of your traps. you haven't trapped enough
Kevin Wimmer thats part of the fun The traps don't hart it's the dirt in the eye that sucks lol 😂😂😂
Kevin -
evidently you don't use 330 conibears ! LOL
Is that a high dollar Sterling coilspring?
Dennis Metzger yes sir my favorite leg trap
where do you buy wax dirt??
He clearly said he made it. Looks pretty easy to do
Good video!
You WILL catch yourself in your trap if you keep that up. Be sure to carry a good pair of wire cutters with you.
Joe Vultaggio can live in fear all your life
Joe Vultaggio why the wire cutters?
watch your fingers
