I feel like hes trying to invoke a medieval/renaissance sound, and thats why the guitar is so nuts, because hes treating the guitar like a violin. The steps and organization he's taking with the guitar is very much how a classical violin was played.
It’s like they’re bringing a classical element to it as well, the orchestration of the instruments feels like if Beethoven had an 8 string in a sense type of approach. The way they approach the guitars have really no repeating motif and just ascend and descend and reaches climatic points that then either fizzle out or explode to a chaotic end
It’s because many things he plays are straight up from J.S.Bach. The parts where the classical comes in, is from Bachs 4. Invention. The riffs are very Bach as well and I love it.
"It's like Vildhjarta if it made less sense". My god what a perfect comparison/analogy. Even the out of tune while being in tune mention later in the vid was spot on. The whole time hearing this I felt I was listening to + den spanska kanslan + but out of tune and dialed up to 11.

@@JCaleb I'm sure Nik gets it more than most people. There's nothing wrong with both of your opinions. Neither take is an L take, dude, just some people want riffs or chords or note structures to loop back around at some point. There have been a lot of "you won't hear the same riff twice in our songs" kind of bands, and those bands write or wrote some good stuff, but for someone like me, if I hear a catchy riff or a hook, I usually wanna hear it again. Not get teased with it once and than that's it, ya know? I mean, early Humanity's Last Breath does do stuff like that, where they'll revisit riffs, and loop things back around, open and close a song with the same riff and stuff like that. Not every thall act is as chaotic as this track would make you believe, this particular artist just wanted to explore that side of thall on a ramped up scale. Also, I don't think adding more structure to thall would soften the genre or take away its unique feeling or something, it's just taking aspects of that chaos and controlling it a bit more for people who enjoy bits and piece of a track like this, but as a whole, won't ever go back to it, and I'm sure at one point that will happen, and we'll all have the kind of thall that we want.
