Might I suggest that turning farms and shops into Private Members Associations would be beneficial for all involved. No tax can be extracted and no regulations applied to such entities. If this measure was rolled out across the board, we could reverse the situation and starve the political or tyrant class.

In principle, I'd agree. In practice, it depends very much on the farmer. The one I used to live near used to leave empty plastic sheep food bags all over his land and put my household in danger every time he hurtled his quad bike across the farm track through our garden at 30mph on a blind bend, so that was certainly a bad introduction to the trade for me.
Obviously the climate has become a political football and those who can exploit it will always try to do so. And never underestimate the power of incompetence by bureaucrats.
I must say though that I do have my concerns about a video such as this which attempts to debunk the overwhelming scientific consensus on global warming and its causes in a few minutes and which implies that those who claim humans are pushing an increase in a greehouse effect are all in the pay of some kind of global elite. Plus a very selective idea of history: that farmers have been farming in the way they do today for centuries sounds good, but isn't really all that accurate a statement. Quite what their ancestry has to do with it escapes me: you don't need to have a parent in a specific trade to learn the trade (though obviously it helps).
For what its worth, I do know a few community farmers in Green Isle Growers. Decent people and not the kind of farmer that throw plastic bags all over their own land. They certainly aren't in the pay of the WEF, but they believe in a human caused increase in the natural greenhouse effect.
I certainly don't agree with everything our idiotic or apparently corrupt (sometimes both) government does, but that doesn't mean I feel positively about this video.

  • @RichardBergson

I am completely supportive of farmers and their role in providing food security. They need clarity, consistency , security of tenure and above all a living wage that is not subject to the whims of the market. To do this in a sustainable way they need soils that retain moisture and microbial life, hedges and trees that support the hydrology, insects and other wildlife that pollinate and contribute to pest control. Climate is not the only issue affecting the world. Loss of ecology on the huge scale that has happened in the last century or so and which continues is equally threatening our lives and the capacity of the earth to support vegetative growth. This is not an either/or situation. We need to secure our food supply AND protect the earth that supplies it. What we need to agitate for is a system that allows farmers to do both and earn a living at the same time.

Farm to table chains need to be established and direct investment into farms from people in exchange of food supply. And as much permaculture to be established. Also, some workshops organised by farmers, to educate more people, Some people might enjoy some farm weekends. Perhaps tents or caravans can be propped up overnight for that.

Do you even know why? You should look a little deeper. The farmers are not to blame. They've been vilified for a very long time. They suffer tremendously because of Government making regulations to the detrament of of us all.
      It's very sad.
And King Charles is happy for all food to be Genetically modified and grown until there's no goodness to consume. He gave the go ahead that all stores, shops, supermarkets have to ONLY SELL GMF by 2030 or they can't sell anything that isn't GMF...
Some farmers gave up a long time ago because they were struggling to meet the then requirements.
Do you know that there is a type of saccharine has to be put in milk because the Government demands it.
Do you know why most food contains unhealthy substances...
It's so we can be held back and become ill, because then the medical profession and big Pharma reep in the rewards and the Government profits big time too from all the excess taxes paid... That's just a small picture.. It goes deeper...
Before you critic farmers you should try and understand what's really going on and has been for years now..
Making arrogant and ignorant remarks is just negative. I'm not having a go at you I'm just saying look further than your flippant remarks, you might try understanding and surprise yourself.
It's sad times for us all, including you. Whatever you eat won't be worth consuming if you don't grow your own.
I've asked my brother to start growing fresh u contaminated foods. And another brother can support that too as he has some place he grows things.
I'm not able to do that because my fresh goods get stolen. I'm on open ground which is easy to take from. I hope you will think ahead and do good for yourself and help support the real need for good healthy foods
Take care.. We all need to... 👍😊 Peace🤔

    • @birdsaloud7590
      @birdsaloud7590 11 місяців тому

Mixed and organic farming is the key. That is what we had pre-second world war but the war machine kicked in and governments forced farmers to go intensive with immense damage to our environment and health with all the use of pesticides and hedge destruction etc. This has continued for many decades. The answer is to reduce intensive farming practices and nurture the soil etc but the global UN Agenda 2030 (backed by the British Government) is to destroy our farms and farmland and create food shortages for one reason only. To create a need for GM and fake lab 'food' which is patented and owned and controlled by Big Corporates. They want to bring in this dystopian dehumanising agenda as quickly as possible with the help of the major supermarkets (look up Sainsburys' Future of Farming' document. So how do they get the farmers to not farm? By paying them more than what they would get for producing food. Also by building all over it, convincing a gullible public there is a housing shortage. They even con us to thinking that concreting over farmland is 'sustainable'.

I kid you not...anyone that thinks we need to break ground (tilling and such) in this day and age is frankly antiquated.
how many of our so called farmers are even aware that duckweed... yes duckweed, is a human superfood containing 50% protein and one of the worlds only plant based sources of B12.
(hint, they should have been using it for animal feed when humans thought it was ok to keep slave animals, but we have even moved on from that, so on to the next benefits of duckweed..
It is a bioremedial fresh water plant that has the capacity to exponentially grow with a doubling period of 3 days. farmers with just a little thought could have been capturing ALL of their agricultural run off and turning it back into soil.
Now we have biochar too and now we even have nano plastic eating bacteria. we can filter contaminated waters through biochar to collect all of the nano plastics, then innoculate the biochar with plastic eating bacteria to neutralize the plastics and then can still use the char for soil building, along with the duckweed.
There are also many other aspects that are just not being adapted fast enough. to the point this would need to become an actual education course to list it all.
Even lowly old me is in the middle of putting together a parabolic thermal energy system that stores thermal energy in sand to give electricity on demand and the heat gets to turn grass into biochar and syngas on the way which can be combined with the biogass and liquid ferts of a grass eating biodigester to make higher total gas output for use or sale and activated biochar... just from grass.
Farming is obsolete. Farmers are not.

It’s an interesting proposition, if properly implemented over stages.
Presumably it could offer the consumer a greater insight to the produce they’re buying, if they are so inclined, as well as an educational tool for the up and coming generations, especially with certain foods being seasonal and in turn, a more clear understanding of, for want of a better definition, food sourced responsibility.
If it were to gain momentum and be adopted across all county lines.
It would be an amusing sight, to see whole foods being distributed across these networks,

Sustainable Food Production !! This is the key, what goes on in many industrialised farms is not sustainable and the damage that intensive farming has done to bio diversity including soil health is bordering on catastrophic. Farming has to change so that it farms as part of nature and not apart from nature otherwise the whole system for food production will collapse anyway. Basically we will all be F*cked without farming but also F*cked without the ability to farm so it has to be right and there is a lot of damage to reverse.

I agree with a lot of what you have said, especially about the direct sales to the public, all the middle men are like leaches taking the life blood out of farming, local abattoirs, local hubs for farmers to sell to local people is just brilliant! Where we part ways is over the continuation of the use of fossil fuels in the chemicals that you use on the land, the monocroping farming, nothing wrong with meadows of flowers, fallow fields, grow fields of flowers then harvest those fields for winter feed, stop plowing there are no plow techniques, rebuild your soils using regenerative farming, stop using wormers and antibiotics, I buy directly from farms when I can, we buy raw milk quite locally and meat online.
Fossil fuels also make the problem with plastics in the environment, microplastic in the water, microplastic in our bodies, microplastic in the animals, we need to move away from fossil fuel usage and embrace renewable energy.
As for Nuclear Energy, the new Power Station at Hinckley Point C still isn't finished and estimated costs to finish it are at present £31bn -£35bn (at 2015 prices!) the first reactor won't be finished until 2027 and it's likely to come on line 2029-2031. Energy prices were set at a fixed price of £92.50 MW/h (2012 prices) already adjusted to inflation £128MW/h in 2022. Wind and Solar are much better value, also solar can be used with small animal grazing underneath, far better than Nuclear with the lasting problems of where to store depleted Uranium.

This is very encouraging. Out of adversity we can forge something new and better. Farming has been led, by corporations and corrupt politicians, down the road of industrial methods that pollute and degrade the environment and create unhealthy food stuffs. We now have an opportunity to turn this around and bring together farmers, growers and consumers to create new healthy ways to serve our food needs, healthily, out of the clutches of corporations and keeping the wealth within communities. We all need to have the courage and tenacity to take on big changes in our lives to make this happen, but business as usual or the alternative of the the great reset, are not viable options for the future of humanity.

@@tidtidy4159 I’m sorry to hear that, but most people using farm shops want farm fresh produce and are not bothered about supermarkets, delivered or not. Odd that supermarket delivery killed your trade on the premise you give.
We have Riverford deliveries here and local farmers work in a co-operative with the company so I’m lucky enough to live in an area where we have both options.
Maybe put your head together with some local farmers and work something out, there’s no better time to get creative and be positive as there’s more of a need for alternatives to supermarkets now than ever before?

The curent situation is a continuation of a movement that began in the nineteen sixties when smaller units were encouraged to be amalgamated (taken over) with their larger neighbours in the name of efficiency. Yes, more effient for the wholesalers and governments by having fewer farms to deal with. I'm a retired dairy herd manager and was always proud to be part of the agricultural industry; an industry now being deliberately run down on the pretence of saving the planet. How far back do they want to take us? As you say it is just a land-grab. We hear of the methane produced by cattle, what about all the other ruminants on the planet? Before the colonisation of America there were millions of bison on the prarries, did they not produce methane? I fear the "net zero" notion will become a mere number juggling excercise in which carbon credits will be a tradeable commodity with no actual benefit to the eco-systemI wish you all success in your fight against this very sinister take-over of food production and distribution. Let's coninue to grow and consume real food

Bureaucracy backed up by unending subsidies. To farmers that sell out to developers at the first chance they get.
Getting taxpayer's money to do things good for the environment and land, is charity supported laying fields fallow of old surely?
Farmers are not alone in agreeing prices for things and then having materials rise in price. Happens probably in every industry, and the agreed price is the agreed price. Up to the company to 'hedge' costs, or buy in supplies when making the deal or something. Or do not sell ahead, simple.
NACs so like National Parks? Or National forests? Will need more looking into to get a handle on what they will do and be.
'NYSE pulls plan for environmentally sustainable asset class' Reuters. Or perhaps it is not happening as easily as expected?
Look no one is going to believe conspiracy groups hand picked rare disagreeing scientist. As time goes by we will see if it gets warmer or not. The main point is everything done in the name of climate change is basically a good thing to do anyway. Oil is finite. We are going to have to change a lot anyway.
Frankly why anyone ever visits any high street now is beyond me. Food is delivered to the door. As are all other goods. This is another reason why this PFFA is going to struggle and not go further than a few well off middle class foodies.
Royal Gala apples x4 Sainsbury's price £1.40 Your Open Food shop example on the video £2.86 Those nasty supermarkets! Taking all the profits to themselves, and halving the prices the direct farmer to customer route expects. Clearly not playing the game right.🤣
Been rumbled long ago that these farmer's markets were not able to substantiate into reality the idea the Supermarkets took all the profits, as when they sell direct everything is more expensive. If you want this to work then the prices must undercut the basic ranges of the supermarkets. It is that simple.
