What i learned from this is that i will watch spicy's videos regardless of what the video is.
I am a mechanic and we tend to use the Milwaukee impact drivers they have lasted two years of abuse so we stand by them
Ive been in construction for several years now, most of my power tools are bosch proffesional, and they are impressive. Comparing to the price they do an awesome job. Ive owned one of this impact drivers for a year now and use em everyday, its definitely useable for proffesionals, but the next time im going to invest more in an bosch impact driver with some more torque power. You dont mention it in de video but this is the cheapest and lowest 18v power impact driver from bosch, they make some better versions too
I'm sure I covered the back they have 1/2 inch guns too, as one of the pros for me is it isn't too powerful.
@@spicy110 yeah but thats an impact wrench, thats something absolutely different from an impact driver. Bosch produce more powerfull impact drivers too
Spicy, without giving too much away (due to IT codes of conduct), Im a power tool specialist having been in the trade for over 30 years! What I will say is, impact drivers are primarily used for screws (as you have demonstrated), they are not really good for nuts/bolts, thats what you use an impact wrench for if you dont want to manually tighten etc. That said impact wrenches are still a coarse tool and not something that can replace a calibrated torque wrench with. Unless you are paying thousands of pounds these tools are not designed to be that accurate when you look at impact wrenches. Powered torque wrenches do exist to give you the desired effort free effect you were trying to achieve but for £90 you are not anywhere near it. Best policy is run the fixing and torque with a bespoke calibrated torque wrench for the cheapest most reliable method. If money is less of an issue then use a powered torque wrench that requires annual service and calibration (depending on your industry) and you will get a far more accurate and repeatable outcome. Most people just wrench up then finish off with a torque wrench like you are doing, its just cheaper in a home environment.

Yes my plan for this tool and how I have been using it, is undoing small bolts etc and getting them most of the way back in till the first impact and then move to torque wrench or tighten by hand. This is why I wanted the lower power option. 🙂👍

It's all about the torque. If I've learned anything researching impact tools lately, if the tool comes with an "anvil" that is, the bare tool has a typically 1/2" inch square male socket on it, then it's designed for undoing high torque bolts like lug nuts, if it comes with a 1/4" hex socket like the driver in your video, it's been designed as basically a high powered screwdriver for screws and drilling. Bosch now make impact tools with these 1/2" square anvils with a 1/4" hex socket inside of it, just be aware of the torque numbers youre working with before buying impact tools.

No I don't think so but you can get drill bits to fit the quick disconnect.

It looks more like a impact driver rather than the tradition impact wrench. Drivers are better for screws and drilling. An Impact wrench is good for nuts and bolts like wheel lugs. Once I got an impact wrench, it was game on. I never use the impact driver unless I have something difficult to drill or the occasional screw.

Why you bought it when u had the kombi Drill? not enough torque? you wanted to put bits more easy?
For a job where I needed an impact, hammer drills are not impacts.

I find the newer bosch not as good as the older ones as I have bosch 30 yrs old still going had another one same but only about 10yrs old didn't last long .
Best industrial ones i found was makita ..tried dewalt but keep breaking after constant use not like makita..
I have not had a new one break yet but I can agree on how long the old tools lasted. We still have a cored Bosch hammer drill from the 90s that is still going strong!
Sorry but do not like battery stuff like that I bought an impact driver for undoing nuts and bolts it cost £21 quid from Liddle's and it's been fine I have been using this for a year on and off no problems it has a mains lead half inch drive never failed me ya just pay through the nose for a name. I know with tools it's not always the case for sure but in this case batteries don't last long especially when it's freezin cold .
I wonder if you could clamp the torque wrench and drive a bolt into a socket to check the torque... 🤔🤔🤔😂
Thats an impact driver not an impact wrench theyre designed for 2 different applications. These are to drive screws and the impact wrenches are designed to undo nuts and bolts.

@@spicy110 fair enough... sealey and ryobi do electric ratchets for relitivly cheap they top out at about 50Nm but then youll to buy the batteries and chargers and all that malarkey.

I brought this one a few years ago and it's so useless I never use it. It has nowhere near the advertised torque ratings and really feel it is so far off it's false advertising. Mine seems to have even less than your one. Ended up buying a ryobi unit last week to use and its so much better. So much for spending the extra cash on a better brand. Even the drill that came in the set has issues with cutting out a bit at low speed.

Anyone who thinks a small tool like this can make 160nm is at best naive....a tool with this size if could give 160nm would be considered a pulse and arm breaker.
I agree it's not putting out that much, however we do not know the diameter of the thing they tested it on so how can we say if it does or dosn't? It's clearly a driver impact not a 1/2 inch gun.
Mechanic friend uses nothing but Kielder. Very powerful but very expensive.
