PSA: Viture does sell an adapter (and you can use an alternative like a Redmagic Gaming Dock) which will allow you to charge and output to the glasses. Also, you can connect a DP-alt mode capable cable extension with the glasses and adapter, if for example you've docked your handheld somewhere and are now using a bluetooth controller.
This. I wish he knew of this for the review.
So exciting to see the improvements! Going to order another Viture now!
Great review! I'm glad the blurry corners have been fixed, that was my biggest complaint with the XREAL Air! Also the diopter adjustment is awesome. For the same reason, I was able to ditch my glasses with the old Samsung GearVR headset back in the day! 👌
I always appreciate your honest reviews. Thanks a lot
Props on being the first and only one to really post about the Pro. I would love to see a do they shoot as far out from your face comically like the other ones do comparison. As well as comparing other things compared to the last classes.
The best way to describe the quality of an AR Glasses' image is by horizontal pixels per degree (PPD). This is usually a metric used for VR glasses, but this can be calculated for any display, including traditional monitors. For example, a 32in 2160p screen at 100% scaling and placed 2 feet away from your eyes has a PPD of 64. A 24in 1080p screen placed 2 feet away has a PPD of 41. The Viture Pro has a PPD of 49, which is the same as a 27in 1440p monitor placed 2 feet away. These glasses have a resolution and refresh rate quality equal to mid-tier gaming monitors.
lol, shaking the battery totally made me think of Chunk doing the truffle shuffle
man, you really deserve more subs. I really expect your channel to blow up soon.
I mean, gea been the defacto for years. I've been here since the GPD Win 1 days
Great reviewer, I am glad to find you.
How’s the heat this time around?
Great review btw!❤
I have an interest in XR Glasses. Thank you for reviewing these
Thank you for this review. It really helps me decide to invest in this device for myself and my dad.
Awesome video, does the special 3Dof work with the steam deck without the external battery dock?
Couldn’t watch past that shaking 😂
Yes! 2 full powered USB C ports is the main reason why I switched from the Asus ROG Ally to the Legion Go! Again, this is the only channel that consistently and honestly speaks to actual user gripes vs. marketing gimmicks! The only thing I was hoping to hear in this video was a direct head to head between these glasses and its competitors . I have the original Nreal Airs and still not sure if these have an edge over them, will need to compare the specs myself.
I've been waiting for Window support for sooo long. I'll order just as soon as I can see it's working well enough for work.
Good honest review. I would have mentioned for the legion go users / people considering getting a legion go if you wanted these glasses you don’t need the dock as the go already has two usb c ports. I think these could be a great addition if you primarily use handhelds for gaming as your defiantly at a disadvantage playing some games like fps games on a smaller screen
I really liked Your Cool Uncle Marisa's review, it was helpful to see her take on them as well.
Greetings, does the mobile dock work with the Jsaux case? As far as I can see, you don't need the Viture Montage set if you have a Jsaux case, right?
Great video, thanks. Does the Pro Mobile Dock work with other glasses (like Xreal Air 2 Pro)? The previous Mobile Dock has a proprietary USB-C connector and made my purchase useless.
@The Phawx would the main display on the Ally or Deck turning off and using a smaller display in the glasses not give you a net gain in power? Surely the tiny sony displays use less power than the built in display on the handhelds?
How's the audio? The comfort level? The connector? All same as the previous version? I'm particularly wondering about these vs the Xreal Air 2 Pro.
The brand new rog ally x has 2 of those ports so that does fix that one problem you mentioned
thumbs up for the review
I want to know if the new Pro dock is compatible with other AR glasses (specifically the Rokid Max). I bought the Rokid Max last year and love it; but would like to be able to get another pair of glasses (maybe even these) and the dock; so I can have two people use them on the Switch (or any devices) at the same time.
Curious , what’s your prescription strength? Mine is on the higher side so I wonder if I can still use it without any prescription inserts
Do the new pros work with the old charging adapter? I’m not interested in adding the dock to my steam deck oled but a little dongle that lets me charge and use my glasses at the same time works perfectly for me
Glad to see competition is rapidly improving all the XR competitors! 1 more generation & I'll have to start shopping. STILL TOO EARLY FOR ME & MY HARD EARNED MONEY.
I currently have the old Viture Ones. If I get the prescription lenses, will this get rid of the blur effect on the edges? I recently bought them in November and do not think these are wroth another $450.
why won't they just tell us the FOV instead of some stupid screen size
Because its only projecting a rectangular virtual screen, an FOV spec would ultimately requires the same screen size analogy for 99% of consumers. I'm an avid VR users and an FOV spec wouldn't help much in me in visualizing the image size of this devices like this vs other VR or AR devices that project an image more similar to the shape of our natural cone of vision.
@@conchobar FOV is actually more helpful as a spec since 'screen size' is meaningless cause it's always dependent on how far is your wall and it's just their approximation so it's not really based on actual metric.
But showing the FOV is more useful because these devices are capable of following your head and can view a screen on a fixed space. As long as the glasses have that capability then fov makes more sense than a made up screen size spec
On the specs page they list "49PPD" so assuming that's measured horizontally then 1920 / 49 = 39.1 degrees.
@@budthecyborg4575 hmm that can't be good. That would place it smaller then the reported size of the nreal airs
@@19CD91 Given the pixel density it's fine. They would need to move to 1440p or 4K before I would want it any larger.
shirt design is badass
I got my viture xr glasses and still don't understand how they work. I can barely see the full screen unless they are touching my eyeballs
I just sold my Viture One. Your metaphor of them being like a 24” monitor at 2 feet away is spot on and far more relatable to me than 120” at 10’. I have a 55” OLED TV that I view at around 6’ and it feels so much bigger than the Viture.
The Xreal Air are almost exactly the same as my 120 inch screen from 10 ft away. To test besides having them on and comparing is "how far are my eyes focusing". You can have some one walk in front and then past the display screen. You can tell where you are focusing. If it feels like a 25 in monitor from 2ft ... then you can test by having a monitor 2 ft and see if you focus closer, farther or the same. The XReal are way way farther.
The 2 usb C ports on the ally X fit this usecase really well
I have the XReal Air 1s and I gotta say that I really like them. I use them with the Steam Deck when I go to my brothers house to play games with him. Playing on the small Deck screen made it hard to see hidden collectibles in games and small objects. While I could do it, I felt at a disadvantage. With the Xreal Airs, I don't feel that way anymore. These look really cool, but I don't feel like I need to upgrade yet. But I cant wait to see how these types of glasses improve!
I want these, but like you said, I'm considering the use case. I did take my Quest 3 on a plane flight last week and it was a game changer. BUT... it's big and heavy to wear extended times. Hmmm...
They dont seem to have an angle adjustment like the xreal air do, is that an issue?
Surprised you didn't mention about the battery attachment covering the vents on the back of the SD.
I could see the support two pairs of glasses useful for almost like a mini "home theater" for two people to watch movies etc on a huge screen. Especially if it works such that the screen is in the same place for both people.
Does the mobile dock cover the intake vent on the Steam Deck?
Does the "mirrors" inside the glasses make them differ from looking through normal glasses? Like are you supposed to look through it or can you just look anywhere on the lens?
I have a very wide head. Is there any way to adjust it for wider heads? also it'd be awesome if you can somehow measure input latency on these displays.
I’m about to buy one of those , what you recommend the new xreal or viture glasses ?
I would wait and See the Ultra and if it doesn't deliver then newest Viture seems a bit better , but I don't own Any so don't take my opinion too deerly.
Do they get warm or hot on the face? Also can i use ambient mode with just the cable and my iphone 15 as well as with the hdmi adapter with my iphone 14 plus?
So I have the xreal air 2 and I find small text insanely grainy and not that easy to read for productivity. How does reading small text compare on this one to others?
Does it work with 3d Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray? Have you tested this?
They had adapter that allowed to use glasses and charge at same time. Will that adapter still work?
Could this be less blurry than a Vive Cosmos Elite smooshed into your face for maximum clarity?
i have now the rokid max, do you think it worth to switch ? thanks !
ty..very informative.
about the impact on battery, if the power draw of the glass is less then the handheld screen itself, isn't it saves power?
Can you use these with the PlayStation portal? Just wondering. Thanks.
does the special awarness work like 6 dof? meaning you can also have depth moving away or toward the screen? or does it drift
You need cameras or lighthouse trackers to do 6 dof, didn't see cameras on there and who is going to carry a lighthouse tracking system around for these?
I would argue that there is a lot of games that have small text size, that even with glasses are not easy to read, and maybe it could be easier to read on these then the steam deck or asus screen? Would that be a good case to buy glasses like these? I would love to know how text size gets affected with these. I got a gpd win max 2 and I love it, but still wish the screen size was bigger. I also wish the keyboard felt better to type on.
can you use a usb-c hub, and that way charge and use glasses at the same time?
The glasses should use less power than the devices screen?
I like this concept, but I'd need to see these types of glasses thin down considerably before I'd buy one.
1:24 could you please test for additional 10 minutes? i really want to know if it still holds well. thanks
Didn't you save power while using the glasses instead because you can turn of the screen on the steam deck and ROG ally?
Are the speakers better?
Would these be good on an exercise bike?
You probably missed this, but they do sell a short dongle that does alow you to use them and charge your devices at the same time thats more convenient then the batterie pack
We need a wider or width adjustable glasses. I have a large ball of a head and almost all glasses I try bows to fit my head.
I believe you save more battery on your handheld with these connected, no? You mentioned that the glasses use an extra at max 1.2 watts but when you connect these, the screen on your device turns off, saving you more power. Someone correct me if im wrong.
thougt the same
@@Kraeuterbutter I ended up purchasing these and can confirm that the battery life is better with the glasses connected.
How is it for reading plain text? I'm planning to get the xreal air 2 pro, but i'm considering this if it is easy text. Also do you think its possible to read text while walking?
I returned my xreal air 2 because I couldn't read text well
For my Motorola phone, i could simply use wireless charging to mitigate the battery drain?
Looking forward to trying them with my A1 Pro. It has plenty of USB ports! I used the Air Pro 2 on my flight and it was great. But the blurry edges are blah. If the blurry edges are fixed on these then I'm sold. What is your honest opinion between the two having used them bruh? Great video.
When you plug in the glasses, your handheld screen will turn off. You probably save energy by using them. Have you figured out how much power you're saving by turning off the main handheld screen?
Also Legion Go FTW with the multi C ports :P
Came here to say this as well. There's almost no way the 1 volt of the mini screens in the glasses is more than the big bright 9 inch displays on these devices.
On a Windows device no. However you can slide into the settings and switch it off. Then every time you plug them in afterwards it will automatically switch off the screen. I've used the Air 2 Pro and this is how they work.
You can't duplicate legion go screen with ar glasses sadly, because of the native portrait thing. It will be broken if you try to duplicate screen so better having the screen off
@@Zanbatoss no that is completely wrong. why are you making stuff up??
@@aplomBomb because I owm them and it's been doing that bullshit portrait screen if I duplicate it
Grabbed these but will probably be sending them back. The supposed clarity is what sold me on them, but unfortunately their "one size fits all" design doesn't work for me. They are clearer than my old Nreal Airs but they still have the problem of barely being able to get the whole screen in view without edges being cut off and blurred.
Viture xr pro or xreal air 2 ultra which to get hmmmmm ???
Exciting to see this technology continuing to get better, I know with the predecessors people were waiting for the type of 6DOF that I believe the latest Xreals have available when connected to a MacBook. I may have missed it, but did you mention the actual price? And if I were to use it with a handheld like the Legion Go with two USB-C ports, that'd negate the negative of requiring the dock battery, correct?
Correct. As long as you have two USB-C you wouldn't need the battery dock
It's still pretty thick... why these companies still refused to adapt letinAR's lenses or monocle's? Was it for the price?
Also 6dof for all devices is a must imo.
The future is bright, and so are these glasses, lol! On the lowest setting it is barely tolerable on my sensitive eyes. Otherwise its an incredible picture. Almost good enough to not need a prescription too! Thats impressive 😎
Using those glasses with a gamepad with a mini PC built in, say one of those PC on a Stick units using an Intel ARC SoC, would be pretty cool, wouldn't be much heavier than a standard Xbox controller, I'd give it a wired video mode though, a USB-C cable is all that you would need, and an optional wireless 1080p HDMI mode, you could also stream via Steam, probably not long until standard glasses start being available with built in screens as standard that can connect to any HDMI socket via a simple wireless HDMI dongle.
Intel E-Cores with Ryzen iGPU & Infinity Cache. (like when they did Devils Canyon? And 20-ish Vega1 CU's. Give it some dual channel 7200 memory. She'll be golden.
what diopter do they support ?
Can you make a video of using them with PC?
thumbnail to video transition was slick as hell
Doesn't these glasses use less power than having the main screen of the device on? It's 2 micro oled screens vs a 7 inch screen 🤔
They need a simple lcd layer on the glasses to selectively block out areas where the glasses are projecting displays to make that usage meaningful to me.
Viture does have a USB-C charging adapter that lets you use the glasses on your Steam Deck/Ally/etc. and charge at the same time, without the mobile dock. It's $39.
Can we get a pure battery shake video? Please?!
How could it decrease the battery from 8h to 6.5h? Surely the Steam deck screen uses more energy than these glasses?!
Were you able to get the 120hz mode working? If so what steps did you take to see 120hz in windows or either in some other way.
Isn't that battery pack blocking deck's air intake? I think it will damage your deck!
Where? I use it everywhere. Seriously. I don't use a monitor. I use them 100% of the time - gaming, working, scrolling, watching movies, EVERYTHING. I use a handheld windows gaming device as my main pc w/ BT kb and mouse. Great setup.
I need a budget option
Trade-offs dude. There are always trade-offs!👍🏻
Locking the screen in place (spatial awareness) is also a feature on the original glasses. It's not unique to the Pro model. Also, you don't have to use a dock. Any device that can output to USB-C can be connected directly. I wear these connected directly to my phone every day when I'm getting my steps in around the neighborhood.
I have the original ones and I like them a lot more than the Nreal. That being said it always felt more cumbersome to use than just looking at the Steam Deck's screen. And I didn't feel like the transparency mode worked very well. I like the fact that they finally added fixed screens in your relative space, but I don't like that its limited to android, apple, and windows and not gaming devices. I don't see myself buying these.
I believe there is a deckyloader plugin that supports fixing the screen in 3D space with these.
Wow, VIture! How exciting for the improvements on Pro! It sounds like they have the best of best! Going to have a second Viture now!
Win 4 FTW!
Or Win Max 2 FToW. Cos, also cool.
@@justinpatterson5291 truth.
What with GNU/Linux support?!
Excellent point about where you use this device, you must find a use case where you want an +1 arrangement to your device and bonus points if you use it outside with batteries. This is not a great solution if you are watching it in bed if you have to contend with a wire for myself I'll go with a true VR headset that is light such as a big screen beyond at 178 grams and offers a 2560 x 2560 per eye experience (assuming you have an adequate hardware to run and in my case decent PC)
1:28 My wife asked that.... You know what? Forget it 😂
Is it good for coding or reading text?
With the latest displays on these, yea you can but it would be most beneficial with the SpaceWalker app they have which allows you to set up multiple virtual monitors. The windows app is still coming, so I didn't have a platform to actually test this reasonably.
As a "fixed screen" no, it's not really the best for that use case and it's purpose is largely gaming/watching movies or tv
If they could just make this 4K120fps that would be a game changer.
wouldnt have blurry corners if the screen was a rectangle lol
Can I use this with the rog ally?
sure yes
2:18 so it’s the analog sticks I just hate there placement on the Xbox style control I get that Sony probably had some kind of patent on the look but why put them at different elevations I mean it’s not as bad as the spaceship the N64 had for it’s controller but it’s still not a good design.
You indicated that Viture did not sponsor this video. But they did sent you the very expensive glasses for review (which I'm happy that they did). There is an established and rooted stigma out there by which creators are plagued where company-provided tech for reviews is said to cunningly and inconspicuously be the cousin to sponsoring videos.
I believe you & what you're saying.
A tip that may help is if video content creators can also say as part of the disclaimer that the neither the company who provided the tech for review, nor the reviewer, nor anyone else, requested, conveyed, or suggested in any way, shape, or form, whether directly or indirectly, whether impliedly or expressly, that the video biasly lean or tilt to one side, or include or omit anything despite & regardless that the product's company would be viewing the video for the first time as everyone else. At 1:34 you said, "There's a few things that I want to talk about", but then at 2:01 you said, "The third thing that THEY want me to talk about". Little reveals like that may give the appearance that the content of the video is influenced by the product's company in any way, shape, or form regardless If the company does not see the video for the first time until the rest of us sees it. Little reveals like that may contribute to either the creation or sustainment of that stigma unbeknownst to your knowledge.
That stigma is not your fault, it's already there and established as a way of life and culture.
All that being said, Good video!! Keep it up, bud. 👍
