Both you guys crack me up! I swear watching these films with you is like sitting with a couple old friends. We seem similar in age or I may have a few years on you both but it’s the same sense of humor. I also enjoy when you both immediately recognize an older song like “Midnight Train to Georgia” or The Jerry Springer Show from “The Green Mile” So many Reactors miss a lot by not understanding a reference because of being too young. Anyway here’s a small donation for your “What to get rich and famous “ fund. It won’t get you either but at least a cup of coffee. Rumor has it that “Shawshank” is in the works… Can’t wait! Keep them coming, your both great guys!
NOW THIS IS HOW MOVIE REACTIONS SHOULD BE, great sound design and letting the film breath without making yourselves part of it. My God that was great experience gentlemen.
Based on an incredible TV series in the 80s. With the late Edward Woodward as Robert McCall. The opening montage gave you the feel of the show. When the sun sets the big city becomes terrifying when the innocents are stalked and terrorized by evil. But lurking in the shadows was The Equalizer, an avenging Guardian Angel. The Equalizer made you feel safe. Denzel and Edward Woodward made you feel safe. The tag line in the series, “odds against you? Call The Equalizer.” The big guy with the fancy moustache who gave Denzel a hard fight is actor Tait Fletcher. He has the distinct honor of also being killed by Baba Yaga. John Wick pulled him by his beard, slammed his head on a table, jammed his gun into his ear and fired! Go to the next level. Check NOBODY!
Funny how small the world really is. The 80's show they tried to hire denzel for the show as well. He wanted to do it, but turned it down as he was in hospital tv show, st elsewhere. So he did the movies and the only movies he did a sequel to is this.
Great reaction guys! All 3 Equalizers are great, I think the 3rd one is the best! Have yall reacted to Man on Fire with Denzel, man on fire and the 3rd Equalizer has a connection!
Such a great reaction!! 😊Man on Fire is a great movie….a little hard to watch. But great Denzel movie.🍿 Also, THE BOOK OF ELI (Denzel, as well) is a post-apocalyptic movie….AWESOME! One of his best works, IMO. DeJavu, Out of Time, sooo many more! ❤ 😊
Check out the Accountant (Ben Affleck) and Shooter (Mark Wahlberg). They have interesting plots as well as great action scenes. Taken (Liam Neeson) is good too if y’all haven’t seen it.
Great reaction to a great movie. The original 'Equalizer' was a 1980s TV series, set mainly in New York and starring British actor Edward Woodward. He looked like a senior bank manager, but could switch on the scary extremely well. The premise was that of a former superspy now using his talents to help people in trouble. His approach was the same as here - he'd start by offering the Bad Guys a choice between backing off (sometimes even with some kind of deal) or not. When the Bad Guys inevitably rejected this, he would then set about taking them down HARD, along with any group or organization they were part of. That was a guy who, in his old job, probably took down entire *governments* . Denzel's portrayal is different, but has that same flavor. There is a direct callback to the original TV series in the last scene of this movie. "Odds Against You? Need Help?" was the title of the regular newspaper ad the 1980s Equalizer ran, from where he got most of his "clients".
I've watched this movie over 100 times. I eventually picked up that his take on Moby Dick was foreshadowing for his character. He had tried to leave the world of killing, but you "Gotta be who you are in this world, right? No matter what." Robert is a killer and through the movie arc he had to accept who he is and use it as a tool. "Bob" explains Moby Dick to Teri (Alina): Teri: He ever catch it? Bob: Hm? Teri: The fish. Bob: Oh, yeah. Yes. Yeah, he did. Teri: It's a happy ending. Bob: Well, not exactly. Old man tied the fish to the side of the boat. Had to row back to shore. Fish bled in the water. Sharks came and ate the whole fish till there was nothing left. Teri: That's just kind of a waste, isn't it? Bob: Depends upon how you look at it. The old man met his adversary when he thought that part of his life was over. He saw himself in the fish. Came to...Came to respect it the more it fought. Teri: Why didn't he just let the fish go?
I did suggest The Equalizer! Awesome reaction, I was yelling "Yeeeahhh" lol Don't want the kisses BTW ha... Now, third time suggesting "Battle: Los Angeles" (with Aaron Eckhart); Sci-Fi, little action and a little something else... Also, there's a weird romance/action movie you might like: "Charly Countryman"... YOU'RE GONNA WATCH THEM, or "a bat" might slip from the top floor while you're going for Taco Bell, okay!? 😂😂😂😂😂😂 greetings from a Venezuelan MSP'er living in Ecuador!
27:42 My favorite line from the movie right there when detective Masters saw what Robert did and was like "Alright! Alright! Alright! Woah! Woah! Woah! You’re so f’in nuts!" lol. Gets me every time 😂. As always…top reaction, fellas!
McCall used his surroundings and the objects around him to his advantage. The phrase, “I’m not trapped in a room with you, you’re trapped in the room with me,” always applies to people who are underestimated by cocky, arrogant individuals.
The guy with the mustache often plays the evil henchmen in movies, he often has no dialogue. He was in "The Accountant" in the farmhouse scene. (Tait Fletcher)
42:21 this man LITERALLY tried to fight Ben Affleck's accountant, McCall's Equalizer, and John Wick lol. Of all of them, Wick took him out the quickest at least with the least amount of effort on his part. Damn weird mustache lol.
When Mr. Washington is tired of action, he would be a great customer advisor for garden equipment and tools. All that can be said about the equalizer films is that they are at the top of a quality pyramid. Greetings from Berlin - Germany You are doing a very good job.
Hello guys! I absolutely love your reactions: great chemistry between you too, good sense of humor and very well balanced between what you show of the movie and your reactions. It would be great if you could do more of them but I'm happy to wait next month for your new opus.
I've been watching Equalizer reactions for a long time now and you guys have given one of the best reactions to this movie and you guys uploaded a month ago. That says a lot. Love the commentary and attention to detail. Can't wait till you guys finish the trilogy!
My absolute favorite part of your reactions - when McCall "scans" the room that first time: The gun - "Ehhhh, I could be really worried about that." The corkscrews, immediately afterwards - "OH NO. Oh , no!...." :)
A really interesting and big difference between Bob and John baba-yaga: you really saw Bob chew over the decision to get involved in a violent way since he had gotten out, whereas John had nothing left to lose that he cared about and just blew up instantly like an M80, not even a second thought
Guys, he IS OCD. You will see more in the sequels but he is OCD. When Denzel pleys characters with some mental health issue, they never announce it or even speak on it for some reason. They just expect you to know. Its definitely a decision. In Roman J Israel he is autistic but they never mention it. There are a few others but i can't say because it would be considered a serious spoiler
Also he rides the bus probably because he is technically dead!!! Remember at some point anything can be traced back to you! Stay off grid pay in cash, have a burner, never attract attention to yourself at all cost!
Lol!!! Great reaction! Wick and McCall are two COMPLETELY different characters. I'd like to be able to pick either of them for a bar fight though. Lol!! Wick is an assassin's assassin. McCall is or was a government hitman/spy. His background is: DIA or Defense Intelligence Agency Spy, Hitman/Assassin, and Black Ops Operative (formerly). United States Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant (formerly). Skills: Military training, high intelligence, expert marksman, expert martial artist, high pain tolerance, expertise in weaponry, master tactician, knife mastery, explosive mastery, multilingualism. In other words, a MAJOR problem. Lol!!!
Robert McCall in this version is a former MARSOC (Marine Special Operations) turned ISA (that is like CIA Special Operators) who faked his death to leave that life behind to honor his wife's dying wish. When your body is stressed, it goes into flight or fight mode. high levels of cortisol and adrenaline are released into the blood stream causing you to perceive time as slowing down. This is really your brain processing sensory input faster. With the right training and experience you cannot just react faster but think in a controlled manner. This is what the camera is trying to explain quickly. Honey has antimicrobial healing properties and has been used for thousands of years for healing.
In the original 1980's T.V. series this was based on, Robert was a retired MI6/CIA double agent. He posted news paper ads offering his services. He also had a SON on the series played by William Zabka who also played Johnny in the Karate Kid. Very rarely in the series was any violence portrayed, Robert would basically outsmart them and they either did themselves in or ended up arrested. (Much like the A-Team series from the same era)
You guys deserve 10 times the subs you currently have, always look forward to your videos. I just watched Oppenheimer (very late to the game because it only just got release in my country) and I can't wait for you reaction to it (unless you've already watched it, of course). Sean:"I wanna have his kids" 😂😂😂 That was def unexpected but totally understandable. Watching you guys enjoy this movie like you did was awesome. John Wick n Robert McCall are the best characyers out there, oh and add to that Jack Reacher, the one from the movies, played by Tom Cruise, those 3 should be besties n every city needs them. The good thing is that there are 3 Equalizer movies, 4 john wick and 2 Jack Reacher movies oh and can't forget 'Nobody' which is from the same universe as John Wick, also a must.
@mikeyshowpresents Yay! I love John Wick, and deffo would welcome a crossover (many want it!) But Bob is just so damn wholesome and honorable! Such a great character!
See you watched a few movies from 2014 lately... So many great movies that year, those years... The end of the movie was an end, it all started with her, for her, starred with feelings...it was not because he is made for it, not cause be lives it, it was all done from love... So the story can't just end with him "winning" , it shows that it was done with purpose, that that girl changed her life , took the opportunity and said the simple "thank you" . Of course not just for her, put an end to a lot of crime, many girls...but he knows this girl was Worth it
This movie was largely shot in East Boston and Chelsea Massachusetts, and I grew up in that very neighborhood that McCall lives in. The bridge seen in the opening shot is the Mystic River bridge and connects Points north in Ma. to downtown Boston. Two other movies were shot in that same neighborhood - "Blown Away" and "Mystic River". The first one is best forgettable but the the second is a must see! 👍
I'm just imagining myself tumbling down the stairs at full speed while fifteen men with metal baseball bats stand at attention every few landings. Each one gets a hit as I tumble down the unnecessarily long staircase.
Not sure if anyone commented on this already. But the reason why he keeps flipping the lights on and off at the end there was so Pushkin’s eyes couldn’t adjust, thus making it much harder for him to see him leaving, not to mention the trap.
I watched the show in the 80s. Edward Fox was phenomenal. Casting Denzel in that role was a stroke of genius. He raised it to an art. Look up Carbon Copy. Denzels' first major movie, I think.
Timing yourself in everything is a manner to have a memory of how long it takes to do things so that can be used when calculating variables quickly. It can simply be described as discipline. After first fight scene when he says he is sorry, it is to his dead wife that he promised her in life to leave all this behind.
Nit picking, it's not a Home Depot but I would say the next time you are in one you will be looking at tree pruners, barbed wire, drills, sledges, Hilti guns, etc. with a whole new appreciation for the endless uses of all those items😂😂😊
"There's a character that Denzel Washington plays well..." anyone he's cast in. From Malcolm X to Antwone Fisher, American Gangster, The Great Debaters, Training Day. Very different characters. Awesome performances. I'm enjoying your channel.
To see where Roberts character came from check out MAN ON FIRE with Denzel. And the little girl he worked with in that reunites with Denzel in EQUALIZER 3. And another very smart movie is LAW ABIDING CITIZEN with Gerard Butler and Jaimie Foxx
"What I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.". - Liam Neeson Chloe Grace Moretz played Alina. Also Hit Girl from the Kickass super hero movies. 😮
The russian killer's tattoos have meaning the shoulder ones means he is a high ranking status in the mob, the knife across his throat means he has killed before and can be hired for more kills
you need to react to the other 2 films of The Equalizer with Denzel Washington. fun fact' he was trained by a navy seal in order to do his own stunts! this trilogy is FIRE. aside from movies if you watch interviews with Denzel he is super calm, intelligent and a bit OCD. He plays exactly who he is.
I don't like crossover, but the one with John Wick and Denzel IS a mighty one. Love on U, from France 🇨🇵 (such in admiration with your russian's accent, incredible😂)
For your next movie reaction video, you should watch The Bourne Series (1. The Bourne Identity, 2. The Bourne Supremacy 3. The Bourne Ultimatum). It has similar action sequences but excellent political thriller story telling!
the "rich man's Kevin Spacey" is Marton Csokas and hes Hungarian. I first got to know him on the show Xena and then in the movie XXX with Vin Diesel. Hes an amazing character/working actor.
Both sequels are worth to watch it and both of them have their specially charme like this one, so I'm glad you decided there will be a reaction of you guys to Part 2 & 3.🙂 Btw, when you would like to see another movie of this genre when you're ready with this franchise I recommand "Kiss of the Dragon" (2001), definately a great one that anyone should love who also loved "The Equalizer".
Both you guys crack me up!

Often overlooked… Robert doesn’t go armed ever. He uses his hands, surroundings and what he takes off people.
Ooooh yeah nice! Good catch!
5:47 The look Denzel give him as he drives off says "This is the last face you will ever lay eyes on."
Now The Equalizer 2 😁

"Bob" explains Moby Dick to Teri (Alina):
Teri: He ever catch it?

While your comment is very appropriate, the book wasn't Moby Dick (and I feel a little pedantic pointing this out) it was The Old Man and The Sea.

Not sure if anyone commented on this already. But the reason why he keeps flipping the lights on and off at the end there was so Pushkin’s eyes couldn’t adjust, thus making it much harder for him to see him leaving, not to mention the trap.
Yall do movies great. Something tells me you'd love sopranos.
You need to watch THE EQUALIZER No-2 & No=3 as well
That's on the schedule!
How dare you guys let us waiting for so long ❤
Sorry! 😬
Nice
Death by Home Depot. Love Denzel. Series is great. 😍 Good reaction guys!
Thank you!
Great reactions guys !
Nit picking, it's not a Home Depot but I would say the next time you are in one you will be looking at tree pruners, barbed wire, drills, sledges, Hilti guns, etc. with a whole new appreciation for the endless uses of all those items😂😂😊
Oh yeah
So, I'm going back through some of your earlier videos. You guys crack me up! 😂😂😂
The bald guy with the moustache during his fight scene with Denzel was also the same guy in John Wick when was shot in the head by the Babayaga.
I’ve missed you guys!
Love your reactions.
We've missed you and your easy to pronounce username!
@@mikeyshowpresents😁
I won’t be changing it so just call me User.
Or whatever you like 😆
MAN ON FIRE
You guys are having tooo much fun!
That is true 😁
The last part was Adult Home Alone 😂
that is damn true my guy
"There's a character that Denzel Washington plays well..." anyone he's cast in. From Malcolm X to Antwone Fisher, American Gangster, The Great Debaters, Training Day. Very different characters. Awesome performances. I'm enjoying your channel.
The follow up movie is a blast too lads, well worth a look!
Can't wait for your reaction to 2.
Same!
Groovy cool guys. Ya'll got the Gladys Knight and The Pips reference.
John Wick for Adults
To see where Roberts character came from check out MAN ON FIRE with Denzel. And the little girl he worked with in that reunites with Denzel in EQUALIZER 3. And another very smart movie is LAW ABIDING CITIZEN with Gerard Butler and Jaimie Foxx
Will do!
This was a great watch, both of you guys are great at this.
"What I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.". - Liam Neeson
Chloe Grace Moretz played Alina. Also Hit Girl from the Kickass super hero movies. 😮
Any man who lays his hand physically, unprovoked on a woman is indeed a coward .
The russian killer's tattoos have meaning the shoulder ones means he is a high ranking status in the mob, the knife across his throat means he has killed before and can be hired for more kills
😳 amazing info!
I didn’t know that. Thank you for some awesome facts!
you need to react to the other 2 films of The Equalizer with Denzel Washington. fun fact' he was trained by a navy seal in order to do his own stunts! this trilogy is FIRE. aside from movies if you watch interviews with Denzel he is super calm, intelligent and a bit OCD. He plays exactly who he is.
Nice! Cool info!
Watching this makes me wanna go rewatch equalizer 😅
Best reaction to this movie I've seen.
Best comment to this movie we've ever seen 👈🏼
Great reaction to an awesome movie!!!
It has similar action sequences but excellent political thriller story telling!
you have to see THE ACCOUNTANT with Ben Affleck now!!!
I love your reactions! Please watch "The Accountant" and "Nobody" next! 🤩👍
Added!
Glad to see you two back. Love your content. Any plans to produce some more often? Maybe twice a month instead of once? :)
Yes, sorry for the delay. We have already recorded both the Shawshank redemption and John Wick chapter 2!
@@mikeyshowpresents Yay!!
Awesome Reaction. I recommend you both "War"(2007)
"Shooter"(2007)
"Illegal Tender"(2007)
"Four Brothers"(2005)
Shooter & Four Brothers are two of my top movies! I don’t think I’ve ever seen the other two. I’ll have to check them out! Appreciate the referral!
the "rich man's Kevin Spacey" is Marton Csokas and hes Hungarian. I first got to know him on the show Xena and then in the movie XXX with Vin Diesel. Hes an amazing character/working actor.
Both sequels are worth to watch it and both of them have their specially charme like this one, so I'm glad you decided there will be a reaction of you guys to Part 2 & 3.🙂
Btw, when you would like to see another movie of this genre when you're ready with this franchise I recommand "Kiss of the Dragon" (2001), definately a great one that anyone should love who also loved "The Equalizer".
